Is it just me...

or does Matthew Sheffield look like that singing guy on the free credit dot com commercials?

Lol

funny funny

Good interview Matt.  You

Good interview Matt.  You look so much different than your picture in your Bio, read better.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

Hey Matthew... Dr. L is

Hey Matthew...

Dr. L is right...you do kind of look like that guy....

I just wanted to thank all of you involved with Newsbusted for the work you do so well, I really enjoy most of them.

Sure glad a conservative in Hollywood thought of this, and the budget isn't two million, plus I love Jodi.

Keep up the good work, with your youth and determination nothing will deter any dreams you have.

A first!!!

The Ron Paul joke at the end was actually funny!! :) You know what they say, "if you want a job done right, do it yourself." You did it, so bravo, Matt.

But a few questions come to mind:

First, what IS the budget of NewsBusted, anyway? And are you sure the Daily Show really costs Comedy Central $20 million?

Finally, IMO Crank Yankers & the Touchtone Terrorist guy whose calls inspired it are hilarious classic comedy, which proves once again that humor is often a matter of taste.

The tax & spend drug war looks racist in the real world.

Agreed

Crank Yankers is probably the funniest show ever created on TV. I TiVo the episodes because I can't get through a segment without laughing so hysterically that I can't hear other parts of the segment.

Glad you mentioned Soundboard pranks. Just looked them up on the Internet and listened to a few before my son woke up. They were way funny. The Arnold-Drunk Guy ones were hilarious.

I used to like

crank yankers but it got a little old after a while.

The soundboard stuff is funnier because you know going into it that the prerecorded celeb voices are old.

Sarc - I was so glad you liked Matt's joke about RP

I thought it was great too and wondered what you would think of it.

Well well

A Ron Paul joke sarc liked, how about that.

I can't disclose the budget for NewsBusted but suffice it to say it's much less than $20 million per year.

As for Stewart's budget, his current contract numbers aren't public but his last one was for $1.5 million per year. Probably he's getting at least $2 mil. Throw in the other actors' salaries, the graphic talent, writers, and set guys and you easily get to $20 mil.

That's because it was funny.

And humor (well, the funny kind) always has a kernel of truth. Your joke is funny this time for the same reason mine were funny when I was mocking trolls who cluelessly (and without much evidence beyond their own allegations) called legions of online RP supporters "spammers" for kicking ass in various polls because (gasp!) they actually gave a crap.

Anyway, can't you give us a ballpark figure on the cost of NewsBusted? Will the online legions of lefties somehow be able to conquer the humor market if they know this top secret figure? Heck, if it's low enough, it might mollify a few of NewsBusted's critics.

Great job Matthew - I've never seen the credit.com commercial

but all I can say is you look good! I love that you were real casual for this interview because it takes away some of the liberals stereotypes.

The only thing I didn't like about the interview was the interviewer said that you averaged 10,000 a week and I was thinking that it was at least that per show. I just looked and glanced through and it looks like it's closer to 30,000 a week. I was just curious where he got the 10,000 number from.

I noticed that the last few weeks the numbers are small - is that normal? Is it just a fluke or does it build a lot after the fact?
I don't know why I'm asking all these questions because you might not even see this.

Answering the questions

Thanks. I did want to keep the interview casual. And you are right about the stereotype.

Our normal viewership for episodes is somewhere between 20 and 40k. We recently moved the "NewsBusted" player to our Eyeblast.tv site rather than YouTube so the folks who watch the show here don't count in the YouTube numbers any more.

Thanks Matthew!

I was curious. That is too bad that it can't count in both places. I'll try to remember to watch in both.
