MRC President and NewsBusters Publisher Brent Bozell appeared on Friday's "Hannity & Colmes" to talk about the media's eagerness to jump on the press plane and head to cover Barack Obama in Iraq. This despite the media's disinterest in covering John McCain's numerous foreign trips earlier this year. [audio available here]
"This is a press, the networks especially, that have gone into a complete swoon over Barack Obama," argued Bozell.
Earlier that day, Bozell appeared on "Fox & Friends" to discuss the same topic. Video of that can be found here.
For the MRC press release on the matter, click here (excerpt below):
Sen. McCain went to Europe and the Middle East for a week in March, and the Big Three evening news programs had a total of only four full stories on the trip; one, by NBC's Kelly O'Donnell, was dedicated to McCain mistakenly saying Iran is aiding al-Qaeda in Iraq. CBS did not even send a correspondent along, and offered only one report consisting of only thirty-one words the entire week Sen. McCain was abroad.
None of the Three networks covered Sen. McCain's trip to Canada in June at all.
MRC President L. Brent Bozell:
"The liberal media's shameless slavishness to Sen. Barack Obama knows no bounds. Just when you think they can't hit any new highs in journalistic lows, they outdo themselves, going into the outer limits of biased coverage.
"The liberal media obviously cannot help themselves. They are already neck-deep in the tank for Sen. Obama, yet they have made the decision that still there just hasn't been enough loving coverage of him. So the Big Three networks all determined that the remedy would be to go on the road for live daily on-air massages.
"This trip with Sen. Obama must be like the Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles all rolled into one for the liberal media. For all three nightly news anchors to get to go on the road with him must be a dream come true.

In The Tank For Barry
July 21, 2008 - 14:15 ET by Increase MatherI have been following presidential campaigns since 1956 and I have never seen anything even close to this.........the big nets, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and PBS are in the tank.
The glowing coverage Barry is receiving could not be purchased for a hundred million dollars.
Nothing in Obama's Chicago political background may be talked about. Raising a question about his religious connections is "racist".
Why even hold an election?
Do the big nets think this is a banana republic?
I have never seen anything
July 21, 2008 - 14:42 ET by mjgI have never seen anything like it either. It seems to me that they are telling Americans that we are not capable of choosing our presidents, so they have annointed Obama as the candidate of their own choice. The audacity of the press.
I have never seen anything like.....
July 21, 2008 - 17:32 ET by merlin61I have been around for 71 yrs. The media has
never, never been this biased in all my years of
reading news. I read newspapers everyday.
Today I went to lunch with two other ladies
who I found out are not Obamaites. I play
bingo with six other ladies, and none of them
are Obamaites, so where is this Obama fever
coming from? The media, the media, the
media. Most of my friends and e-mail buddies
are not in the tank for Obama, so why does the
media say that the polls are all on his side? Who
are they polling? They can poll the college
kids and young voting age people, but, they are
not the voters. They may talk a lot, but ones
I know don't care about voting. That's a a sad
tale too.
I'm hoping beyond

The latest from the drive
July 21, 2008 - 15:10 ET by jdhawkThe latest from the drive by media is the NYT pulling McCain's rebuttal to bambi's (aka 57 states) NYT's op-ed on Iraq. See the front page of the Drudge Report for details.
Talk about outrageous!
The NYT - doomed to failure one liberal opinion piece masquerading as a news item, to the exclusion of all other voices, at a time . . .
NYT refusal to post McCain's edidtorial
July 21, 2008 - 17:35 ET by merlin61They take Obama word for word (even when he
flip-flops, but they want Mc Cain to rewrite his
words so they agree with Obama's line of
thinking. How disgustingly outrageous!!!!!
outer limits of biased coverage
July 21, 2008 - 16:07 ET by allamericangirlThis over the top Obama love coverage is not only disgusting to conservatives but also to the Hillary Democrats. They were somewhat snapped out of their zombie brainwashed state when the media turned on their gal in favor of Obama. Some of them actually realized that the media might be biased like those horrible right wingers were saying. I think these are the bitter democrats that this type of coverage might unintentionally turn off.

Notice how Obama never says "win the war", only withdraw, pull out, etc.
