For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Congress votes to sue OPEC over oil prices:
The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved legislation on Tuesday allowing the Justice Department to sue OPEC members for limiting oil supplies and working together to set crude prices, but the White House threatened to veto the measure. The bill would subject OPEC oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela, to the same antitrust laws that U.S. companies must follow.
Is this a good move by Congress, or useless saber rattling? Will OPEC actually produce more oil, or is the White House correct in its view that this could "spur retaliatory action against American interests in those countries and lead to a reduction in oil available to U.S. refiners?"

Booker T. Before engaging in such a premature lawsuit, may we remind you that you are sitting on 3 trillion barrels of oil in oil shales in what you refer to as Kentucky and Alaska. Naturally, we may be forced to sue your country for stifling the oil market. However, if you cease and desist with this lawsuit, we will drop any thought of this altogether. Regards, OPEC."

Right now "Oil Company Executives" are up on Capital Hill testifying before congress on what Government can do to help ease the high price of oil and gasoline when only two days ago they voted down a bill that would allow drilling in ANWR and in coastal areas of the US.
The US population in general must be really really stupid to think that government could ever solve a single problem.

I'd like to pose one other theory. It is pure conjecture on my part, but that should give it at least as much credence as the "Big Oil" crap pushed by MSM and the rest of the LEFT.
Who is to say that a cabal led by George Soros and others of his ilk aren't manipulating the futures markets for political purposes? And making huge profits at the same time? This could easily be Soros' plan to inflict pain on the masses and smooth the path for Obama in the fall. Pure hypocrisy? Yes! Who'd know? Would anyone in MSM care to look into it?

All that this would accomplish is to prove to the world what a joke our Congress has become (as if it hasn't already).
There's the saying "don't bite the hand that feeds you." Before Congress goes thru with this, it should think about where we're going to our oil from next and how much more we're going to have to pay for it.

FINALLY: AN IMMIGRATION LAWSUIT TO LOVE
May 22, 2008 - 05:53 ET by reelman46FINALLY: AN IMMIGRATION LAWSUIT TO LOVE
As
covered on The Factor May 21-22…a cop (Rodney Johnson) was brutally
murdered (shot 7 times) by a rap-sheet thug illegal alien. The widow
Joslyn Johnson was on TV with her lawyer to discuss her suit against
the landscaping company that hired this monster. Being this is a suit
by a minority also helps but this action is long long overdue. Many
hundreds of crimes are committed by illegal aliens and they are not all
speeding tickets. No company should be able to hire illegals to start
with so (hopefully) a huge settlement will send a chill thru shady
businesses that will cause tens of thousands of illegals to go back to
their country. Now look for the insidious radical lefties to try to
undermine this naturally right thing to do under the law. Now if we can
get rid of sanctuary cities and the lost tax megamillions of freebies.
Not going to happen if up to liberals. Attention all voters.
