Its official, the War in Iraq has cost the US people 1% of its GDP. I wonder which candidate will get hammered by the moderator for saying that the war is causing the economy to slow down.
The recent GAO findings show this is a low cost war in comparison to past efforts.
Did you know that we spend less of the US budget on the military than we did during the exceedingly low funded days of the 1930's when we had virutally NO capability?
Do you know what funding lines are killing the US taxpayer? It is not the DOD BUdgets, but rather the social entitlements.....
I don't get the debate via the lovely Spokane station until nine o'clock MT time...I am furious....I detest the local stations and wouldn't have then if my husband didn't care...they deny access for me to get some of the west/east coast stations.
I will wait til then and be bored it sounds like....is it really that bad matt?

they actually asked Obama some tough questions. And they finally asked some things from a conservative perspective like gun rights, the Weather Underground/Ayers relationship, the small town slam, Gibson really slammed Obama on the Capital Gains and payroll taxes.
They were nowhere near as hard on either as they are on Republicans but Obama was on the defensive most of the night. He'll probably still win but it's about time he was asked some questions.
There is less bloviating baloney there then goes on at their rallies . Okay well not normally at the Dem debates, but this one was more like a Republican one - it had some substance. Too bad you missed it.
It turns out that from the moderator standpoint it was unusually OK. But I just can't stand listening to Democrats with there constant BS. They rarely, if ever, say what they really believe or are planning to do. Instead, they only say what they think will get votes. Repubicans do this too, but far less often - but I cringe when they do.
Blah blah blah is what I hear most of the time when politicians speak - especially liberal- democrat politicians.

Mo Rocca or something like that was the comedian, he used to be on Olbies show a lot and others on msnbc...boy did he diss the network ...I don't care for the guy but he got a couple good zingers in....

...while flipping back and forth between the Cardinals game, buy boy, Hillary wiped the floor with Obama from what I saw. She dug in deep on Rev Wright, Ayers, and Bittergate. Plus, Charlie Gibson smoked Obama on a question about capital gains taxes - he made Obama twist into a pretzel and he ended up sounding like an idiot, a socialist, or both.
I and the wife are flipping the Cards and the debate also. I watched more of the debate (two rooms) than she because I found that for once ABC did a good job. All of the most glaring controversies involving both candidates were brought up and with good follow-ups as well. I don't think there would be a chance in hades NBC and their kiss-ups would have done as well. And CNN. And CBS. Well, maybe Katie would have deeply probed their internal feelings and...Nah!
I think they were a little harder on Obama than Clinton for the first time. It's the first time he's been questioned like a front runner even though he's been it since Iowa.
Sometimes I think if either Democrat is elected they will be such a disaster, the country will grow to hate and despise them to such a degree; that liberals and leftists will be marginalized and driven from the public square permanntly.
I wish they would have asked if they were offended at the fact that tanks drove into a community to snatch children from their parents. You figure if their was an undercover informant embedded in the community for years, they'd have seen pregnant underage children. Why did the tanks roll now? Where is this girl that made this call that she was being abused?

At one point, Hillary said something to the effect that the election would be so much easier if the Republicans just wouldn't include a candidate. "But that will never happen"
The arrogance of that attitide is difficult for me to process and it is even more difficult to find coherent words to express my outrage at her. She is so smug and so arrogant that she actually says out loud that the Republicans aren't worth her time, are ruining her election, and shouldn't be allowed to exist.
...For someone speechless, I managed to jot a few words down but not close to expressing the turmoil that is in my head when I think of this horrific shrew!
My one consolation is that Rush is going to be exquisite today. He does wonders with restoring my sanity.
