Eliot Spitzer Joke
April 4, 2008 - 10:12 ET by P.J. GladnickThe Eliot Spitzer in therapy joke is my fave! I have watched NewsBusted over and over again just to savor that joke.
I'm afraid to watch it twice!

Beer vs. Wine
April 4, 2008 - 13:08 ET by mattmI think the poll meant that Dems drink whine.
Or, could this just be an example of Liberal arrogance portraying GOPers as beer swilling neanderthals, and Dems as intelligent, sophisticated wine drinkers?
I like both beer and wine,

I like both beer and wine, FWIW.
Like P.J., I liked the Spitzer joke the best.
As for Sarcasmo and Syrius, haven't you got the memo yet that (especially for liberals like Syrius) you're not the target audience to enjoy Newsbusted? Sheesh! :-)
NB Brown, Funny is
April 4, 2008 - 13:14 ET by LeonNB Brown,
Funny is funny. You shouldn't have to have a target audience.
Even though I'm a bit of lib, I find John Stewart mocking liberals is just as funny as John Stewart mocking conservatives.
Your statement demonstrates in a nut shell why conservatives aren't funny. They're too sensitive.
Funny is funny. You

1) The conservatives here think it's funny. Those not in that group do not. That's the way it's supposed to be.
2) How long is a Newsbusted episode? Do they need to be under the umbrella of the Fairness Doctrine, too? :-)

I doubt that you would laugh at anything Jon Stewart said about liberals if he were attacking their core principles. Gore as a robot? Hillary in pantsuits? Sure, you might laugh at that, but not if Stewart was bashing liberalism itself.

What do you think I was being sensitive about, Leon? I just made an accurate statement, that's all. BTW, are you being sensitive to my viewpoint? Are you saying that you're a conservative? ;-)
Oh, I get the memo, but
April 5, 2008 - 07:56 ET by sarcasmoConservative humor CAN be quite funny. "Newsbusted" simply usually isn't, but I've been known to laugh at many a conservative comic just as I laugh at many of the lefties. The political humor entertainment marketplace pays Jodie Miller one salary and (Stewart/Colbert or SNL cast -- pick any one) a very different salary for a very good reason. That's life, humor's a matter of taste more than politics for me.
And BTW, here's "the memo" from Reason's cosmotarian in chief. It seems to say that I should vote my conscience instead of holding my nose this time. IMO it makes sense, because I'm screwed anyway in the event of victory or defeat for "conservatives." IOW the Reagan coalition is looking pretty dissolved at this point, so the socialists are as likely to "earn" libertarian votes as the statists.
