Obama Knew of His Pastor's Views.

I found on Michelle Malkin's site last night a posting that discusses Obama's claim that he didn't know his pastor held such virulent views. I had to follow a couple more links through Sister Toldjah and Patterico, but eventually ended up at a NYT story from last April, entitled "A Candidate, His Minister and the Search for Faith."
It's a long, very interesting article, chronicling Obama's faith and his church, and his relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. It contains this gem:

Few of those at Mr. Wright’s tribute in March knew of the pressures that Mr. Obama’s presidential run was placing on the relationship between the pastor and his star congregant. Mr. Wright’s assertions of widespread white racism and his scorching remarks about American government have drawn criticism, and prompted the senator to cancel his delivery of the invocation when he formally announced his candidacy in February.
(emphasis added)

Ir's a good explanation of why he "disinvited" the Pastor from offering the prayer.

But the real gold nugget, the money quote, is at the end, which completely shoots down Obama's claim that he wasn't aware of Wright's extreme views, and it's right from Rev. Wright's mouth (keep in mind, this was April 2007):

According to the article, Rev. Wright said, in an interview (specifics not provided)

“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright said with a shrug. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.”

Sen. Obama knew that his pastor held the views that he had, and he knew that they would be a major drag on his campaign. He knew it a year ago. Was he just hoping none of it would surface? Or was he suprmely confident in his ability to defuse it?

Why has Oprah not come running to the defense of her soul brother? I heard that her ratings were down and it was believed to be a result of her support of Barry Hussien.

Fox is reporting that a missile attack launched from multiple "drones" on two al-Kayda "safe houses" (or maybe that was safe-caves) has killed up to 20 terrorists.

But get this... it happened at 4am this morning in PAKISTAN territory. Paki not Afghani... Somebody got up grumpy today.

Reports say this has made the villagers "very very angry," (no kidding!) and there is speculation this indicates a high level target amongst the taken-out.

One can only hope.

Mmmm, so I wonder... who launched this missile strike? My money is on the Swiss.

Theme for Election '08: I want my mommy!

I was surfing the Sirius Radio trying to find the station that was carrying the in car communications for Dale Jr. I came across channel 126 which is normally a sports channel but now is Client 9 Radio. They were running an interview by Andrew Wilkow with Rep. Peter King done earlier in the week. After the race and the tournament selection show I'll turn back and see what it is all about.

Anyone else see this at American Spectator? James Lucier has a column How McCain Can Win the Base.

The strategy? Name new LA Governor Bobby Jindal as his running-mate.

He says this about Jindal:

And what a governor! Sworn as Governor in January, after winning 54 percent of the vote in the open-field primary, Jindal immediately called a special session of the legislature and persuaded them to pass his 64-point agenda for ethics reform. They said ethics reform couldn't be done in Louisiana -- a state whose reputation as a cesspool is legendary -- but he did it in a two-week session. Now he's calling a second special session to pass the tax cuts necessary to jump-start the post-Katrina economy in his state.

He then catalogues Jindal's plusses....youth to McCain's age, but youth with experience on fiscal matters, Medicare, etc. Lucier makes a case for Jindal in every area of expertise that will be looked at.

It sounds like a great idea to me!

And it's fun to look at Elliot's prostitute, but...I find it a bit...odd...that we've had 0 posts about & pretty-much 0 discussion of the Fed's bailout of Bear Stearns. Folks, it's socialism whether it happens under a Republican or a Democrat administration.

A corruption-story the TV media will-not cover.

This fellow from Ireland goes into a bar and orders three beers and proceeds to take a sip off of each one. One, two, three and starts over. The bartender watches this go on for a while then asks the fellow whats up with the three beers? The fellow from Ireland says" Ah lad, you see before I left Ireland me and my brothers, I have two don't cha know, made an agreement that whenever we had a beer we would drink to the other two brothers". So every time he comes in...three beers, until one day he ordered only two. OMG everyone asked, Did something happen to one of your brothers? "O nooo lads, not to worry. You see me wife joined the church and I can't drink anymore. But that don't stop me brothers"

Stuff is flying now..told ya stuff is going to come out this week, possibly tomorrow by Kessler and possibly others now that will prove Obama is/has lied...both CNN and Fox are putting out a fiery statement from Wright regarding his church ect...

I can' wait...lol...I'm out of here.
