Texas Voting

I voted early in Texas before McCain was betrothed, but most everyone I know crossed over and voted Clinton. My girlfriend summed up the people I know well in an email saying "My stomach is churning because it is just too weird to imagine voting for a dem, but I’ll do what I have to do. Obama is really freaking me out.”

Also, I’ve really enjoyed listening to Obama commercials on the Conservative Talk radio stations. He spent smart ad money with those.

.

I forgot to add about a week ago the obama campaign sent out
an email to all law students asking to help ensure election laws are followed
today... the school said they would foward any other such requests but no other campaign asked them too... hmm

I heard awhile ago that

I heard awhile ago that some voting places are being flooded in Ohio...this was presented as breaking news...

Makes one wonder which camp is getting ready to cause major problems if they lose?

Trial lawyers at ready I suppose...

ROFL!

bt,

I don't know about you, but I am beginning to sense that the glow from "the messiah" is beginning to fade somewhat.

Perhaps now that the novelty is wearing off, people are beginning to have second thoughts about this man.

Hi RD...

Yep...arrogance will get you every time.

Which is exactly what he was or is becoming...as I have said before here and there....

Plus the msm getting criticized finally by none other than the Hill campaign and a few others....they are going to have to do somewhat of an half-arsed job pretending they are really digging into Obama, even though this kills their leftist sensibilities for their new leader.

Rock Stars today have a

Rock Stars today have a very short shelf life.

The lustre is wearing off this guy quickly.

McCain could thank Hillary for those commercials, but in his case it won't ring 6 times before someone picks it up.

The major problem Obama is facing is Rezko and his trial where he will be a witness and could implicate him as well.

Obama supposedly had a

Obama supposedly had a surprisingly rough time at a press conference today. Someone said he looked like "he had just been bitten by own dog". He quickly left after eight questions that were tougher than the usual "What's your favorite color?".

If Obama is the nominee

. . . it will be McGovern all over again.

These putzes already lost Florida and Michigan by punishing the states for not abiding by their rules.

I probably would give Obama more states than just Massachusetts but not much more.

The guy is already turning from a rock star to a hack.

Oh gosh, I hope you're

Oh gosh, I hope you're right. This whole Obama-mania thing is just too eerie. It almost reminds me of a plot from an old Allen Drury political thriller where "a young senator comes from out of nowhere to...".

For REAL Change

It won't settle anything

Any pressure for HRC to drop out, regardless of results, will be less than expected  because of the Obama-Rezko connection and his running away from the reporters.

If HRC takes Ohio she will be annointed as the come-back kid as the MSM reconsiders Obama.

In any event HRC ain't goin' nowhere until PA votes, and even then she will hang around as more dirt on Obama is released in the run up to the Dem convention.

Norman Who?

I wonder if the NB staff can come up with any media coverage comparisons on the Hsu trial (Clinton connection) and the Rezko trial (Obama connection).

I haven't seen much of either.

This Is Change?

FOX 8 News in Cleveland, Ohio just reported an Obama supporter attacked a Clinton supporter last night in Akron, Ohio.

The Obama supporter, an intoxicated black man with a makeshift knife in his coat pocket, who attacked the Clinton supporter, a white man in a wheelchair, was subdued by police but remained violent, kicking inside the police car and causing damage even though handcuffed.

How audacious.

Ron Paul -- Our Crazy Ol' Uncle in the Attic, to Win TX-14

I've read the recent polling and sadly it means we have this batty old man in the GOP belfry for two more years. On the plus side, however, crazy ol' Uncle Paul means one more member of The House who hasn't any power:

His voting record is … it’s horrid — 351 pieces of legislation he
sponsored, six came out of committee, and none have ever passed. And if
you go back and look, he just regurgitates the same pieces of
legislation. “Restore the Second Amendment.” What does that mean,
exactly?

But that’s his bill, and two years later he submits the bill again.
He just keeps reprinting these and throwing them out there. And now he
doesn’t even get any cosponsors on many of his bills. [With] many of
his amendments, he’s called out of order on the floor for even putting
the amendment in, because he doesn’t follow the rules of operation in
the House.

He’s up there to make a point, not a difference. He wants to be
called out of order because then it’s unique and it’s unusual, and he
gets press, or at least Roll Call will say “Here he goes
again.” But you know, if you do that once a year or once a term, it
works. If you do it three or four times a day, it gets old.

It's good to know, at least, that crazy ol' Uncle Paul's mischiefs are limited!

I just heard Norah

I just heard Norah O'Donnell on msnbc say that Rush gave his permission for repubs to go vote for Hill to bloody up Obama...

What is funny to me is if she wins the critters in the msm who are so in love with Obama will really blame Rush...as  if we are robots and don't have minds of our own...

Btw...did anyone hear Rush yesterday I think it was...a gal caller said she had already implemented his strategy before she had even heard his strategy....

Too funny.

Well, I did my civic and

Well, I did my civic and Conservative Texan duty and voted for Hillary.  While I was signing in at the democrat table I looked over at the Republican table and winked at the ladies sitting there.  They winked back and said  "I'm with ya honey"...LOL! Then my wife and I then checked ONLY Hillary on the ballot and left.

On a side note, as we were leaving I pointed out a sign to my wife, it was a professional sign, not hand printed, and it read DEMOCRATES VOTE HERE...we laughed our heads off.... this was in Galveston, Texas, a strong democrat city. Well we threw a monkey wrench in their plans.

bt... Something I saw

bt...

Something I saw about 20 minutes ago is another reason why I don't like the idea of McCain being our nominee. One of the TV newsies showed a graphic whereby moderates are the driving force behind his election successes. This is just more proof that we conservatives have a lot of work to do, and it may have to be dome outside the GOP.

v

Huckabee/Hunter '12

vrwc... I know how much

vrwc...

I know how much you like Huckabee, but I think the reality of it is he should not run in 2012. On the flip side, I don't think Romney should run again either. To be more precise in what I'm trying to say.... maybe Huckabee could run, but not the same time that Romney does. Or vice versa. Both of these guys running at the same time is just bad news for conservatives all the way around. Whether it was intentional or not, the two of them are responsible for us having McCain as the nominee. My reason will not be a popular one, but it is what I think is the truth. The two of them divided Christians, and this is never a good idea unless one of the contenders is of another political party.

"Abstain from McCain"

Huckabee will be running in

Huckabee will be running in 2012 ala Reagan...no doubt about it...

v

see ya all in 2012

In 2012 Reagan will be

In 2012 Reagan will be spelled R-O-M-N-E-Y.

Gary... That's just plain

Gary...

That's just plain silly. Nobody will ever replace Reagan, N-O-B-O-D-Y-!

"Abstain from McCain"

No they won't. BUT someone

No they won't. BUT someone will take up the mantle. And it won't be Huckabee, which is who I was responding to vwrc13 about.

The fact is, waiting for the next Ronald Reagan is what got us in this mess! Had folks been paying attention, they would have seen that Romney fit the mold better than anyone. But instead, they waited for "dead on arrival Fred" to catch fire, which he didn't. Or, for long shots to get noticed, which Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo didn't.

Now we face an election with nothing but democrats in the running! You have three candidates, all of whom have never run a lemonade stand, let alone a real business. Hillary and Obama are socialist to the core, and "our" candidate had the gall to poo-poo Romney's vast financial experience as unpatriotic!

If folks had paid attention, and the GOP hadn't front loaded the primaries with liberal states, we wouldn't be here right now. But now we are, so we have to suck it up, and vote for McCain, and pray we all make it to 2012! The only good news is more and more "names" are suggesting McCain pick Romney as a running mate. That may be our only chance.

Bobby Jindal baby!!

He'll out Obama Obama in 2012 and take the country by storm.

A rock star candidate with real ideas.  Bobby Jindal!

This is just one line from Health Connector of Massashusetts. These folks are responsible for managing the states mandated healthcare program. The 5th line is how many hours they work per YEAR. The 6th line was last years salary. The 7th line is their salary for 2008.

Sweet job, huh? And there are another 45 people listed that I did not include.

"Abstain from McCain"

I have absolutely no use

I have absolutely no use for anything that even resembles state run health care. Why screw up the best health care in the world?

Since I wasn't there, my only though on Massachusetts is the legislature was probably bound and determined to push this crap off on their people. And since I doubt Romney have a veto proof legislature, he softened the program as much as possible.

I may be wrong, but that's all I got.

And the graphics of the

And the graphics of the exit polls also showed most Republicans today have conceded McCain is better than Obama or Clinton. Huckabee only got a slight margin of Evangelicals, his core group. He won the other groups, including conservative Republicans. Why? Because he's more conservative than Huckabee? Of course not. But most are realizing its time to get off the Goldilocks, conservative, litmus test. Course some are still fanning Romney signs...

Obviously Huckabee got the message too. Now its time to give Obama some tough question about all his very questionable choices in allies. I can understand anyone making a mistake in friends here and there but when one's path to power is lined in scum, it is a substantial issue. So coincidentally, one of his friends is accused of fraud, another has confessed to bombings, and his pastor celebrates renowned racist, Louis Farrakhan. That's a days work, I'd say.

nws... Oh Obama will be

nws...

Oh Obama will be geting the tough questions...we have mentioned all that you have too about him and what needs to be investigated, Hillary will see to that.

Not by the backbone of the repub party...why they are supposed to lay off..or haven't you heard?

nwahs... "But most are

nwahs...

"But most are realizing its time to get off the Goldilocks, conservative, litmus test."

Spoken like a true moderate!

"Abstain from McCain"

Well conservatives spoke

Well conservatives spoke that way as well today. I really garbled that first post, but I meant to say that Republicans who consider themselves conservatives voted for McCain today by about 48-43% (I think). Now, Huckabee won by a substantive margin ( 56%-43% I think) as the candidate best reflecting a Republican's personal values. IMO, that shows the concession that while McCain may not be their ultimate in a candidate, he is a lot better than what Democrats offer.

I'd think that would be obvious to most Republicans, and only say it because of the hyperbole of Coulter and Cunningham.

nwahs...  "I'd think

nwahs...

"I'd think that would be obvious to most Republicans......"

Yes, it may be to Republicans, but not so for Conservatives.

 "Abstain from McCain"

I'm no McCain fan. Not even

I'm no McCain fan. Not even in the slightest. But the reality is this: Unless you want to hear the words "Good Morning President Obama", it's time to suck it up.

Once we get McCain elected, then it'll be up to us to keep continuous pressure on him to do what is right. Conservatives actually have a track record of this.

If McCain wins, we may have a chance to recapture the House, and not lose the Senate completely. If Obama wins, say goodbye to the House, Senate, and all hope, for the foreseeable future.

I know I was one of the loudest people on your side. I thought the same way. But do you honestly think Obama, or Hillary would appoint strict constructionist judges? At least we got a 50/50 shot with McCain, and as old as some of the libs on the Court are, they are certain to retire in the next 4 years either in whole, or in part.

That alone, is worth holding your nose and voting for McCain over.

Look, I don't want to tell

Look, I don't want to tell you who to vote for, so please return the favor.

"Abstain from McCain"

Clear, didn't mean to

Clear, didn't mean to offend you. There's just been a huge dose of reality hit me in the last month. When I said you gotta get on the bandwagon, I wasn't just aiming that your way.

I know pulling the handle for McCain is gonna be a monumental task for most of us. But it's the only move that makes sense. An Obama, or Clinton Presidency will just be too devastating.

Honestly, if there was a REAL, SERIOUS third party deal, one that actually had a huge chance of winning, and a candidate that matches our wants, I'd bolt the party in a heart beat!

Anyhow, sorry I upset you. I just get passionate about this stuff. Normally I do a lot more reading than posting. Usually you guys have it all said before I get here!

re:Gary P Jackson

Ditto...And good luck. I have been saying the same thing here for the past month or so...to much consternation from many. McCain was not my first choice (or second, or third...), but the reality is that he is the nominee. I disagree with you on one thing, however. Even if McCain does manage to win in November, I don't think that he will be much help in recapturing the House, or in reducing our losses in the Senate. I think that those ships have sailed for now. Time will tell...

Just heard Obama addressing a crowd in San Antonio. Mentioned that his talk of change is not empty to the woman in San Antonio who saw her mortgage payment double in two weeks. No mention that she obviously went with an APR instead of fixed rate. My head started to explode, so I had to post here.

Then he went on about how it is our responsibility to help other Americans. I couldn't agree more. Allow us to offer help to those in need of our own volition. Don't allow the government to rob me of my hard earned income to give to those who won't help themselves. It is our duty help the disadvantaged, not goverment's.
