I only wish...

...that I could be there to share the moment with Shrillary.

*sniff*

Remember the old saying:

"Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it."

I think we are about to find that out in a painful lesson. Obama will be pretty much impossible to defeat. He is perceived to be the Second Coming. Our only hope is that the Clintons revert to type and launch an assault on the process and wrest the nomination from him. But even that, if it fails, could lead to an even bigger landslide for him.

I keep thinking well, we survived Jimmy Carter, we can survive this. But Carter didn't come with a bagful of socialist, nanny-state ideas that, if enacted, we may never get rid of, even after Obama is done.

Remember...

It's funny that you hit upon that expression..I just said that to someone yesterday concerning the election. I have been hoping for sooo long that Hillary would go down in flames...but now, it appears we will have someone worse to worry about. Obama really doesn't have a clue, and the fact that so many in the country have fallen under his spell is scary. Really. It's almost cult-like. And while we did manage to survive Carter, he did a lot of damage while he was president-to the economy and to the military, which took years to overcome. I also think his lame-brained handling of the hostage crisis emboldened the terrorists of the day, and I think, ended up contributing to the issues we have with terrorism today.

Excellent post!

Excellent post!

Gary P Jackson...

Thanks for the attaboy!

History repeating

"...emboldened the terrorists of the day, and I think, ended up contributing to the issues we have with terrorism today."

On a sort of similar note, I remember when the D's became the majority in the last election, Al Queda terrorists litterally put out a press release stating that they were extremely happy the Democrats were now in power because they would be "easy to work with." That statement lasted about half an MSM news cycle and then was shredded. Whoopsie.

Liberal's Basic Rule For Discourse: I don't care if you agree with my premises, but I demand that you agree with my conclusions.

"History..."

Exactly...It amazes and worries me how quickly people forget such things. Americans need to remember that the terrorists (specifically Al Qaeda), are watching very closely what is happening in our election. They are hoping for a Democrat to win, because they know that he or she will take a completely different and much weaker approach to the war on terror. It frustrates me how clearly the enemy sees this fact, but so many of our own people seem blind to it. I am praying-literally praying, that this election will turn out as it should, and the terrorists will not get their wish. You're right..History may very well be repeating itself. To our great detriment.

Prairie Sky

And it is no mere coincidence that Carter's national security advisor - Zbigniew Brzezinski- is now a foreign policy advisor and vocal supporter of Barack Obama.

"...coincidence..."

I know. It's 1976 all over again, but worse.

I NEVER thought I would say

I NEVER thought I would say this, but I pray for Hillary Clinton to make an impact tonight.  I am sick and tired of hearing about Obama's "holier than thou" image whereas the man himself has accomplished nothing but be a master speaker and manipulator.  Plus, I don't want Obama running against McCain because I know McCain can beat Hillary but I doubt McCain can beat Obama's cult-like following.

PRAY FOR HILLARY!!!! :) (wow, is so hard to say)

Very true, but speaking and

Very true, but speaking and manipulation are a big part of politics. I like what Obama says, but I don't know if he can execute. I'd say Obama's choice of running mate could have a HUGE effect if he chooses wisely.

I live in Central Texas.

I live in Central Texas. About an hour north of Austin on I35. I doesn't get more conservative in Texas. Obama has bought up tons of radio time. Our local AM carries Rush and Hannity, as well as having a couple of local conservative talkers. At every break, all day long, all you hear are Obama ads! Very nauseating.

Television impaired?

LOL-No, but I'm a little furnace impaired at the moment.

Those who hop in bed with Ted should not expect the votes of those who supported Fred.

True fear-mongering

That's all the Dems do, and they do it well. "Millions of homeless" because of "predatory" lending, for example.

"Yes we can" (blame America first, that is)

Where the hell is that remote?

Here I am

Hello all.  Oh, where to start, where to start?

"True fear mongering" speaks of, well, true fear mongering!  Let's see...what would you call strategically-timed terror alerts in the year leading up to the 2004 presidential campaign?  Liberal media bias?

Or, what would you call Darth Cheney's comment in October 2004 suggesting that if we elected a Democrat to the White House, "they might...you know...hit us again".  A bright new day in America?

Gimme a effen break about fear-mongering.

Let's see...what would you

Let's see...what would you call strategically-timed terror alerts in the year leading up to the 2004 presidential campaign?  Effective terror prevention.

Or, what would you call Darth Cheney's comment in October 2004 suggesting that if we elected a Democrat to the White House, "they might...you know...hit us again".  A bright new day in America?  I'd call it an accurate statement.  The bright new day for America came when that Massachusetts gigolo and his lightweight hustler of a running mate were put to the sword.  And because the nation did the right thing in November 2004, we haven't been hit again.

Brilliant Satire!

Washington, April 9, 2004. A hush fell over the city as George W. Bush today became the first president of the United States ever to be removed from office by impeachment. Meeting late into the night, the Senate unanimously voted to convict Bush following a trial on his bill of impeachment from the House.

Moments after being sworn in as the 44th president, Dick Cheney said that disgraced former national security adviser Condoleezza Rice would be turned over to the Hague for trial in the International Court of Justice as a war criminal. Cheney said Washington would "firmly resist" international demands that Bush be extradited for prosecution as well.

On August 7, 2001, Bush had ordered the United States military to stage an all-out attack on alleged terrorist camps in Afghanistan. Thousands of U.S. special forces units parachuted into this neutral country, while air strikes targeted the Afghan government and its supporting military. Pentagon units seized abandoned Soviet air bases throughout Afghanistan, while establishing support bases in nearby nations such as Uzbekistan. Simultaneously, FBI agents throughout the United States staged raids in which dozens of men accused of terrorism were taken prisoner.

Reaction was swift and furious. Florida Senator Bob Graham said Bush had "brought shame to the United States with his paranoid delusions about so-called terror networks." British Prime Minister Tony Blair accused the United States of "an inexcusable act of conquest in plain violation of international law." White House chief counterterrorism advisor Richard Clarke immediately resigned in protest of "a disgusting exercise in over-kill."

When dozens of U.S. soldiers were slain in gun battles with fighters in the Afghan mountains, public opinion polls showed the nation overwhelmingly opposed to Bush's action. Political leaders of both parties called on Bush to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan immediately. "We are supposed to believe that attacking people in caves in some place called Tora Bora is worth the life of even one single U.S. soldier?" former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerrey asked.

When an off-target U.S. bomb killed scores of Afghan civilians who had taken refuge in a mosque, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Aznar announced a global boycott of American products. The United Nations General Assembly voted to condemn the United States, and Washington was forced into the humiliating position of vetoing a Security Council resolution declaring America guilty of "criminal acts of aggression."

Bush justified his attack on Afghanistan, and the detention of 19 men of Arab descent who had entered the country legally, on grounds of intelligence reports suggesting an imminent, devastating attack on the United States. But no such attack ever occurred, leading to widespread ridicule of Bush's claims. Speaking before a special commission created by Congress to investigate Bush's anti-terrorism actions, former national security adviser Rice shocked and horrified listeners when she admitted, "We had no actionable warnings of any specific threat, just good reason to believe something really bad was about to happen."

The president fired Rice immediately after her admission, but this did little to quell public anger regarding the war in Afghanistan. When it was revealed that U.S. special forces were also carrying out attacks against suspected terrorist bases in Indonesia and Pakistan, fury against the United States became universal, with even Israel condemning American action as "totally unjustified."

Speaking briefly to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before a helicopter carried him out of Washington as the first-ever president removed by impeachment, Bush seemed bitter. "I was given bad advice," he insisted. "My advisers told me that unless we took decisive action, thousands of innocent Americans might die. Obviously I should not have listened."

Announcing his candidacy for the 2004 Republican presidential nomination, Senator John McCain said today that "George W. Bush was very foolish and naïve; he didn't realize he was being pushed into this needless conflict by oil interests that wanted to seize Afghanistan to run a pipeline across it." McCain spoke at a campaign rally at the World Trade Center in New York City.

Well you could "effin"

Well you could "effin" begin by stopping dumb-mongering and try some joined up thinking instead

Here's revelation... just because somebody said something in 2004 does not negate anything someone else says in 2008.

Or is that your level of thinking? Schoolyard, circa 7 and three quarters?

Vote 4 change. Vote 4 anything. See Jack & Mr Shy's first campaign ad for the ONLY viable 3rd party candidate.

Anyone hear the wrap-up

Anyone hear the wrap-up after? Latino-Americans????????????????

Overall impressions..

Just watching the debate, a couple of impressions:

1. They are both totalitarians, centralized government policy wonks who not worthy to lead this great country. That comes across loudly and clearly.

2. From a "how they come across on TV" aspect:

A: Obama is a Ferrari driver, racing along with one hand on the wheel, listening to rock on a great station and enjoying every moment of the ride.

B: Hillary is pushing a wheelbarrow full of rocks up a slippery slope and crabbing about how no one appreciates her. She hates every minute of the experience.

Liberal's Basic Rule For Discourse: I don't care if you agree with my premises, but I demand that you agree with my conclusions.

LOL Celator.....good

LOL Celator.....good descriptions!

Except HRC doesn't hate the experience, IMO. She loves the feeling of being a martyr....like the mother who complains about all her work, but never lets anyone help, because they won't do it "right."

and Jeez, whoever told her to use that "Plagiarism" line should be flogged! LOL

(It was proabably her own idea.)

Yep..

No, she doesn't have that experience for sure!

You can hear her now: "After all I've done for you kids and you don't even visit!! WAH WAH WAH" LOL

The other thing that struck me again about Hillary is that she is still absolutely, obsessively stuck on universal health care. (no news there, of course). Yet, on most surveys I've read, healthcare scores pretty low as a issue (compared to the economy etc.) Odd sort of thing. I just don't think it resonates with most people and she once again loses an opportunity to connect with folks.

Liberal's Basic Rule For Discourse: I don't care if you agree with my premises, but I demand that you agree with my conclusions.

That was a precious

That was a precious teary-eyed concession speak from Hillary at the end.

Listening to the two leftists is plain spooky...as always, too bad lemmings just do not get what these people are saying and how it will really affect their lives, and their children if they get their way.

Plain spooky.

The fact that bambi is

The fact that bambi is perceived as unstoppable is the point, isn't it?

Wasn't that the mantra of billary's campaign just a few months ago?

bambi is a stupid, inexperienced, socialist.  He should be easy to defeat.

If you think not, just ask your liberal friends that support him two questions.  One, what has done?  Two, what is he going to do?

On the former, he has done nothing.  Having been a senator for three years, I doubt he knows where his seat is.  He has been too busy trying to become the nomimee for president of his party.  He has neither proposed new legistlation nor sponsored any of import.

On the later, he is a socialist that if backed by a dimocrat congress, could do great harm to the world and our country.  One only has to look back to the Vietnam war and the millions that met their death when the defeatocrats voted over President Nixon's veto, to defund the promised assistance to the South Vietnamese.  Then, fast forward to the prouncements that bambi has made concerning the Iraq war, Pakistan and what he would do in his first days of office.  Only this time, Iraq and Pakistan are of some strategic importance to the world.  South Vietnam and the region for that matter were not and are not.

JDH

Obama likes to talk about a "third Bush term". Well, I'd rather have a third term of Bush than a second term of Jimmy Carter.

Any day of the week.

We cannot afford

a second term of Jimmy Carter and that is exactly what we would get with Barak Obama -- only worse, much worse.

"We cannot afford..."

Ditto! At least Carter had some executive governing experience being governor of Georgia. Even with that, he was a complete disaster.

Barker..

Exactly!

JDHawk, you make an

JDHawk, you make an excellent point, something I have voiced to fellow political junkies. If I were a resident of Illinois, I'd be mighty steamed that the guy I elected senator has done nothing but campaign for president since his election. Considering running for messiah -- I mean president -- has been his full-time job since becoming a senator, how much can he have really done? Nothing, as far as I can tell.

My questions...

The questions I keep raising about Obama are: who is behind him, where is his campaign money really coming from, who is pulling the strings to move Obama?

It's clear he is being promoted strongly behind the scenes by people whose names we probably never heard of. He just came out of nowhere, and has a very weak political background. He's like a man without a story, so to speak. He's been very strongly coached, that's obvious--but by whom and for what purpose?

In addition, the press seems not much interested in the genuine specifics and impact in what he is espousing. I find that really bizarre.

Someone else said it, but it's true: he really is like the Peter Sellers character in "Being There".

Liberal's Basic Rule For Discourse: I don't care if you agree with my premises, but I demand that you agree with my conclusions.

"...questions..."

Excellent questions...I just wish more were asking them-Specifically, the media and most importantly, the VOTERS!!!So many supporting him seem to have undergone a lobotomy recently...what do any of these people really know about him, besides these two words? ...Hope and Change...Yada yada yada. People-Wake up and start asking the hard questions. Now!!!

Stick a fork in her. And

Stick a fork in her.

And get ready for President Obama.

Just hand over your wallet. He will give you an "allowance" out of your pay, after he takes what he thinks the country needs from you.

Was either candidate asked if they'd ever been proud....

Missed it. Was either candidate asked if they'd ever had any reason to be proud of their country prior to 2008?

Foam On Every Sharp Edge in America

Hillary --B+ The clear and present winner of tonights debate, she had the body language of proud Costa Rican Cocatiel in mid flight. She won tonights debate not because her stance on the issues corresponded to the Will of the People, but because shes been dealing with the media glare for almost as long as her opponent has been alive, and she can manipulate the moment with the best of them. She may be a massive political heavyweight, but she's going to have to accelerate the attacks on Obama, if she wants to create momentum.

Barack --C- As he fearlessly pandered to the selfish side of human nature on the CNN-Univision debate tonight, one thing became immediately clear to the casual observer-- he royally sucks at debates. He fumbled over words, missed applause lines, and at one point didnt even seem interested in responding to criticism by Hillary-C. He promised yet again to "break down the gates" that hold Americans from their dreams. Now he may not have any actual solutions to your problems, or a history of solving them, but like any good stranger, he will at least pretend to be interested in them. And thats all that really matters, right?

dirty pool

If Obama is the nominee, the Clintons will do everything and anything, behind the scenes and under the radar to torpedo him and elect McCain. They'll already be looking to 2012. They are such outstanding Democrats as well as Americans.

Split Decision

Right on Easygoer, and the Obamaton's will do the same thing if Clinton is the nominee. Despite all their talk about "unity", a deep chasm has developed in the Democrat(sic) party.

party like it's 1968

It will be fun to watch Democrats self destruct. Remember, Bill Clinton never got a majority. They can and must be had.

Payback time!!!

Hillary or Obama, won't matter much. Each suck and will f--k up. The good thing is that the left will be in bed with them; they screw up, the left is on defense. No more whining about W, they will have to shut up and defend their man (either Hillary or Obama). Sharpen those knives folks, I don't give a rats ass if they think Obama is the coming Lord, we start playing hard-ball. Taxes? Fat chance. Illegal aliens and amnesty? Screw you. War on terror? Better fight it, wimp boy, because YOUR screw-up is a defeat and your defeat is our win. These butt-heads bashed Bush from day 1. Payback is a bitch. Either way, we win. Hmmm, let's see, 2012, Jeb Bush or Rick Santorum? Can't make up my mind...

Hillary birthed an Obama tonight

What an amaxing evening it was in Texas as not a month ago there sat Barak Obama with his new daddy, Teddy Kennedy........and tonight in a "debate" I got to watch Nurse Hamrod produce her national nipple and birth to the Democrats in her mommyhood a bouncing baby boy..........my son Obama to the cheering DNC.

Hillary for the first time looked relieved her torture is over from the cartel in them making her stay in the race.........she almost looked pleased to finally be able to go back to her bribery millions and having paid her husband's sin for selling uranium to America's enemies.......is now free from lezbo sex tapes and court trials which will have her end up in prison.

Hillary has womb tossed Obama to the cold world and has in Mommy Dearest fashion licking her chops knowing Patrick Fitzgerald is going to prepare her son for a BBQ. It will be her sweet revenge over a slow roast fire.

Hillary had her last stand last summer when she met with the cartel and they informed her she was going to take a dive.......it was right before the liberal judge in New York threw out the money fraud case against her with more evidence than Scooter Libby got nailed on.

Oh by the way.........you have noticed old bag Albright and the other cast members jumped rat ship.....and the only one running up the campaign tab is Chelsea as she too might run some day if the sperm donor she is wed to (she is dating the son of a money fraud crook now) does not screw the cartel out of raw resources.

Let us now start act III, "The indictment of Barak Obama".
