He can't be hoping for a VP spot on Rudy's ticket - but he sure wants something from Rudy - so what does Rudy have of value to Pat? Is it maybe the Soddom and Gammorah of the northeast US...?
Robertson may hope to win huge influence in the northeast. He's based out of the DC area and already popular with much of the eastern region - except maybe some of Miami, Atlanta and most of the northeast. So next up strategically is he expanding facilities just a bit north and well into "ground zero" - NYC - the east-coast heart of the beast...? Is God "raising up a righteous warrior to respond to the evil NYC attack of Islam (which is essentially Satan of course to crazy bob - this is one of the areas that he and I part ways)?"
Sounds like Pat talk to me:)...it's probably in Revelation somewhere - everything is:)...
Education. Media. Ministry. Pat's a major conglomerate of all three. He probably thinks he can make some big red dents in a severely blue region over the next 4 to 8 years with Rudy's help in the WH? Then work his way west, and meet Dobson and Schuller in the middle? Romney and Thompson can't do that for Pat as much as Rudy can...
So what does Rudy get from Pat? Again Pat is based in the DC area - Rudy gets many important repub/fundie friends there if Rudy wins the WH - Franklin Graham too? Billy's a Dem - but what about Franklin...? Billy's continued Democrat affiliation has been a BGEA sore spot ever since roe v wade drove fundies to the right. Rudy sure as hell needs evangelical support. Pat's a big help there. Can Pat bring Franklin onto the Rudy train? Rudy will certainly get tons of very powerful evangelical promo nation-wide on the 700 club. BGEA might be nice too - but they do tend to avoid overt political activism...Robertson does not...
Rudy's pro-choice stance is a huge problem for Rudy. Can Robertson influence Rudy to maybe tone it down? Balance it more? Even change it? Doubt he can change it now - it would be a gargantuan flip-flop for one thing - the MSM will have a field day with it - so Rudy will probably only be able to "shore up" his live values as much as he can. But to me Pro-life still seems key for the fundie vote - as I said in my pro-life forum a few weeks ago...
Here are some vital prez facts facing both parties - governors (executives) win the WH, rarely does a Senator or Congressman (non-excecutive).
Traditional morals are also vital - largely due to over-zealous lib activism starting in the 60's...
So the most professionally qualified front-runners for the RNC are Romney (state governor), then Rudy (city mayor), then Thompson (US senator), and then after that who really cares...
The Dems are only running senators (yet again) - so Hillary is most qualified, then Obama...
Identifying the most morally-resonant candidate nationwide is really difficult, so much of it is just wild conjecture - but IMHO non-WASP's always have it very tough - so it's probably Huckabee first (WASP minister), then Paul (fairly fundie WASP), then Romney (pro-life a big plus? Mormon is a big problem for many fundies - not me tho), then Rudy and Thompson maybe tie...?

Besides, the "Fair" Tax is a highly regressive federal sales tax that will make sales taxes in TX hit a total of 30%. (Watch the wallets slam shut if that happens).
Why not hit every American at 15-17% of income, with NO exemptions or loopholes?
Regardless of what any politician tells me, there will ALWAYS be an IRS. I want one that is much smaller and might employ 100 people max.

November 7, 2007 - 11:33 ET by JimboOn NJ’s ballot yesterday, there was a question whether or not and additional $50,000,000 of state funds should be earmarked for stem cell research. Cutting to the chase, the issue was thankfully voted down.
While there was certainly some religious sentiment in this vote, it was not the driving factor. The residents of NJ sent a message to Jon Corizine (who politicked HARD for this measure) and the rest of the tax and spend Democrats in NJ that enough is enough when it comes to taxing its citizens.
NJ can be seen as a microcosm of what happens when tax and spend Democrats are in unchecked control of a legislature for a prolonged period of time (almost 40 years). The state has the highest sales tax in the nation, highest minimum wage, and highest property taxes. Seniors flee the state as soon as they retire because they simply can’t afford to live in the State on a fixed income. Businesses, particularly manufacturing, have long since fled the state for more accommodating tax structures, either in other states or abroad. Corruption in the State Government continues to run rampant. How do you make up for lost taxes for fleeing businesses? By cutting spending? Of course not! By taxing the citizens even more!
More recently, instead of raising taxes for special interests, questions on voting ballots are structured as “issuing bonds”. What the average person doesn’t realize is, that the principal and interest will need to be paid by the State. Where does that money come from? You guessed it. The citizens.
One might ask how these people continue to get elected, year after year, despite all these facts? I think it is the result of a number of reasons. First, the Democrats have honed their ability to portray Republicans as evil at a level unheard of elsewhere in the country. Secondly, the State of NJ is very densely populated and has various urban centers within it (Trenton, Camden, Paterson, Passaic, Hackensack, etc.) who historically vote Democrat in large part for the reason above. During election time, the pandering that goes on in those urban centers is outright sickening. Unfortunately, the Democrat’s ability to carry those urban centers in high proportion trumps the Republican vote in the outlying areas.
And around and around NJ goes….
Back to my opening point, this is the same tactic employed by the Democrats in national elections. Allowing it to go unchecked will mean the end of this country as we know it.

Everyone knows what they're looking at, what it'll do, and that it's only a danger when you let it out of its cage. Bloomburg is a smart guy, and he knows he could never win an election. What he could do is pull a Huffington, i.e., run for office just long enough to be referred to as "former candidate for president..." then pull out before being referred to as "loser". Even if he does just that, the RINO word is out on the guy and he isn't going to draw any Republican votes outside of some from NY, and NY is a lost electoral cause for us anyway.

The Democrats have been blind to how poor of a position that is and it would ensure that most Republicans would stay away from Bloomberg regardless of his other policies.

In one NJ State Congressional district, a Democratic challenger tried to unseat a long standing incumbent Republican by actually running on a platform of raising taxes!!!
Thankfully, he was defeated, but only by 8 points! This in a State that has among the highest taxes in the country, across the board (sales tax, income tax, property tax, school tax, local taxes, etc. etc. etc)
It gets back to my prior point – in NJ the Democrats have been so successful in painting Republicans as evil and pandering to minority votes, those two things trump any semblance of logic - time and time again.
It’s really amazing to see.
