Insurance jobs and leaky rubber jobs

Looks like Hillary is going to provide a windfall or two for everyone!

First of all, I am warming up my resume to apply for the newly created federal job (after she becomes - god fobid- the leader of the land of fruit and honey) as the Non-Compliance Insurance Investigator ( Department of NCII) for the US of A.  Being a federal job it should pay good money to bust people that don't buy health insurance and are in violation of her mandatory health insurance for everybody legislation.  I will looking for a deputy assistant capable of  filling the Department of (WTPTDB) "Where to put the dead bodies", when the non-comliant people don't get needed medical help for not having mandatory insurance coverage.  Word has it that casket manufacturers will generate the necessary tax revenue to pay for this position through a substantial increase in sales!

The second new position will be a Department of (PHICTGFMFB)  "Put Holes in Condoms to Get Federal Money For Babies".  This job may not pay as much due to the minimal educational requirement to punch needle holes in condoms, but the humanitarian reward is probably strong enough to keep your needles sharp.  Just think how many people you will be helping to get their $5,000 baby bonus!

I wonder what her next pandering proposition will be to the voters of our fair country????????????

I can't wait for the movie to come out!

Stealing, stealing, and stealing some more

So, Hillary Clinton wants to steal (all Clinton wants to do is steal) from us taxpayers to provide $5000 to people for giving birth?

Sounds vaguely like McGovern.

No, no, no! You have it all wrong! You get $5000 for being pregnant, you don't actually have to carry it to term. That would be discriminatory!

I know it's not a popup blocker because it's been fine; I had this problem before and it turned out to be a site problem which they did get fixed. Anyway, I rebooted and when it started up it went into "diskcheck mode" and said "the volume is dirty", then went into diagnostics. I left it and went to the kitchen because it was so slow, and after a bit the windows welcom screen was up. I will see if it's OK now, maybe there was a corruption that is now fixed. Just got back from church a bit ago, so I'll see how it goes the rest of the day. It did let me log in OK this time tho.

What are her qualification?

With all the back and forth between O' Bama and Billy boy about qualifications for president what are the She Devil's qualifications? Is it because she lived in the White House?

Remember in the movie Days of Thunder Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) was ask were he learned to drive a race car. He replied watching Dale Earnhart on ESPN.

Is it because the She Devil had been watching what others do? I don't see anything she has done for the people of NY what's less the people of the US.

If you go by who is the most qualified I would have to say McCain based on his military experience and his years as a politician. This is not an endorsement for him.

She’s like some hellish housewife who has seen something that she really, really wants and won’t stop nagging you about it until finally you say, fine, take it, be the damn president, just leave me alone.”

Interesting read, Del. And I love that excerpt. It really is true. She thinks she in entititled to this, damn it, and she wants it! Only when she gets it, she won't leave us alone. Not ever.

I find it interesting she always insisted that she was not involved in policy-making or major decisions. They would spend hours talking over breakfasts, apparently, but never hit on substantive issues. Now that she wants to be President, she's pushing her "experience." So which is it, Mrs. C?

BIO FUEL FACTS

I read too much propaganda here about bio fuels from people who have never planted a seed in their lives, have no connection to market traders, know nothing about the banking oil cartels structering prices on all commodities for their profits, know nothing of farming and know nothing of economics.
It is with this I present the reality of a Wisconsin farmer on bio fuels to educate the people here.

This Wisconsin farmer raises 1/3rd of a section of oil sunflowers a year to power his entire farm. For those who do not know oil sunflowers are used for vegetable oil and the striped sunflowers which you eat are a different variety.
These black oil sunflowers are planted in late April and harvest early September AS BIRDS WILL EAT HALF THE CROP OTHERWISE.

He gets a crop of 1000 gallons of vegetable oil per 36 acres which he uses as "diesel fuel" to run his operation.

Now to REFUTE THE IGNORANT:

These sunflowers are ground and processed though a COLD PRESS. This means they are ground like coffee and then pressed like in an old wringer washing machine so the oil runs out.

WHAT IS LEFT IS still 100% edible. People can eat it. (In fact, historically the Arikara Indians used to grind these oil sunflowers and roll them into a ball and use them as an emergency high energy snack to revive them.)
Animals can eat this product in everything from chicken, cattle to pet foods as it is a high energy food.

This product even can be used in pellet furnaces to heat homes. So ALL FROM ONE planting is food, fuel and home heating.

I will REPEAT ALL FROM ONE PLANT IS FOOD, FUEL AND HOME HEATING which proves the bogus lies being continually posted here about this making a food shortage problem or bio fuels are inferior. Mr. Diesel when he invented his diesel engine BUILT IT TO RUN ON VEGETABLE OIL AS THAT IS ALL FARMS WERE PRODUCING BACK THEN.

This farmer states, "I run my oil presses until diesel goes down to 2.00 dollars a gallon and then I buy diesel on the open market as it is then cheaper for me. (He can then sell his crop for a higher price trade.)

This SAME situation is what takes place in genetic corn and soybeans which ignorant people are posting here about ethanol or bio diesel never equating what is going on as no one here has any experience at all in the field or field of what these fuels are and that the food is left........all they are taking out is starch and oil which people do not consume in the first place.

So I will ask please, check this out with farmers who are actually doing this to get the facts and then cut and paste this into emails and start spreading the FACTS. There is no excuse for ignorance of for being led around like morons posting bogus things one finds or hears on Rush Limbaugh in his fill ins.

I will repeat for simplicity. Bio fuels extract oil and ethanol and LEAVE THE FOOD to be utilized. Nothing is lost and what is gained is all this money is kept in the United States instead of being placed into foreign banks.
Will bio fuels ever replace all American needs? No, but for industry, home heating and agriculture needs bio fuels will drive the price of oil down which will put more money into your pockets to spend on things you need.

No acreage lost. No crops lost as they are being grown in the first place. All is gained as now starch is being extracted not utilized before in corn and oil is being extracted for fuel which is not healthy for people to consume in quantity in the first place.

God bless.

But, I fear there are too many deaf ears 'round these parts...

You may want to reconsider who you support, kch

Lame Cherry isn't exactly known around here for his deductive reasoning skills.   ;^>

~

But LC happens to be far more correct than not on ethanol....there are many here who have their heads rectally incarcerated by big oil and continue to spread propoganda on the subject.

From my reading of the threads, kch, you're the propagandist

around here.   Although given ample opportunity, you haven't engaged in any direct debates on the subject.    There are many challenges to your posts....pick one and go at it.

As for Lame Cherry "being more correct than not", he has, as is his usual habit, taken a smattering of fact and regurgitated his own version of reality.

I see no sense in debating the ignorant

I'd just be pulled down to their level and beaten by experience.

Ha! You actually made me laugh out loud, kch

Apparently, your propagandist training hasn't gone beyond laying out Talking Points.

I'm not going to wate my time

sharing knowledge on deaf ears. You, and your ilk on this subject, have your minds made up, and I could not sway you in any way, so why bother to try? Much of the bilge in this forum on the topic of ethanol is pure big-oil and liberal nonsense propaganda. I'm quite happy to leave you all in your blissful ignorance.

Come on, kch, is NB paying you

to provide comic relief?   Seriously, do you believe that nonsense you just posted?

You're not going to "share your knowledge?"  bwahahaha!    What, exactly, have you been doing, kch?

You've been laying out a series of talking points (complete with a steady flow of insults) and you refuse to debate their accuracy, yet you claim that anything that contradicts you is "propaganda."

Amazing...

another classic lib line

"I'm quite happy to leave you all in your blissful ignorance."

So is that the answer when you get to the end of a thread asserting the big oil conspiracy against Ethanol production?  Please.  The only ones that are "blissfully ignorant" on the subject are those who are armed with nothing more than Dem talking points.

I'm not going to once again go through all the reasons why ethanol / biofuel production is not the panacea that leftoids want it to be. But I will highlight them for you:

Refinement: Lets take Lames example of 1000 gallons produced from 36 acres of sunflowers. It would take 468 acres for 1 truck transport tanker load. An average high volume gas station goes through about 8 loads a month on average. Thats 3744 acres under cultivation to supply 1 station for 1 month. Of course this assumes no blending... so lets say its 10% thats 375 acres or 4500 acres needed to supply 1 station for 1 year. Beginning to see the problem here?  How many stations do you pass as you petal your way to work, or the local Starbucks to bitch about Bush?

Transport: OK so lets say by some miracle you are able to plant and harvest enough crops to meet demand, now you have a second issue. Go ahead, get ethanol from production point to consumption point...thats called distribution, and due to the fact you have no pipeline infrastructure for it, you have to use truck, rail, or barges.  Usually its a combination of the three.  That is called logistics libs, and it is often the critical component of the supply chain. So until you spend the 100s of millions of dollars needed for pipeline transport...you can continue with your pipedream of sticking corn stalks in the tank.

Finally: Due to the requirements of point #1, point number three is simple, deverted crops for fuel processing raises the price of foodstuffs. As I suggested in another thread, if you do not believe that this is the case, call ANY food processor, wholesale distributor, manufacturer or retail restauranteur, ask for purchasing, procurement, the buyer, whatever and ask them how much food prices have spiked since the inception fo this feel good idea of ethanol as an alternative to fossil fuels.

Refining: The process is not cost effective. If it were, some big evil capitalist company would no doubt have exploited such a no brainer by now.

Get a clue.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.  ~ Unknown

"Big Oil" = "I'm a Socialist!!!"

Anyone who uses the phrase "big oil" marks themselves out as Socialists who are extremely angry that any organization would dare make money, or would dare become big.

kch, stop whining and master the tagline below:

Res tantum valet quantum vendi potest.

unsane

I tend not to get involved in the "big oil" debate because one of the few issues that I'm really conflicted about is the degree to which laissez-faire capitalism should be allowed to just do its thing. And Unsane, since you are as much of a principled and sincere economic libertarian as I've ever encountered, I have no doubt that you sincerely believe the equation that you wrote in your subject line. But I'd still be hesitant to deny the existence of some form of regulation that doesn't fall under the socialist label. In other words, is it 100% laissez-faire or nothing? I mean, I like Ayn Rand too, but....

"He was, and is yet, most likely, the wearisomest, self-righteous
pharisee that ever ransacked a Bible to rake the promises to himself
and fling the curses on his neighbors."
-Emily Bronte

Some philosophy

One of the most amusing aspects of the whining over "evil big oil" is the fact that people don't know who the top 5 owners of oil supplies are.  And of those 5, the EVIL ExxonMobil is number 5.

The governments of Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Iran, and Venezuela are the top 4, and IIRC, they are in order, 1-4.

Now, as to your philosophical question: my aim is to minimize government interference as much as possible.  Take the health care debate.  In order to snare the 40+ million or so without coverage, I think there are much smaller, more practical, more feasible steps that can be taken without slitting the throat of the goose that lays the golden eggs as many want to do.  (For instance: what if unions decided to stop presuming where the politics of its members lie, and take that money and set up an HMO, with the company or companies they work with matching their funds?  In a setup such as that, I'd be willing to bet that companies can slash their costs, and unions could increase their membership once again.  Also, isn't it funny how those who cry and hand-wring the most about the aforementioned 40 million do not lift a finger themselves to help them, say, by way of charitable contributions?)

The lack of supply of sweetcorn in the SE has more to do with less than ideal growing conditions than ethanol. Where there is a market for sweetcorn that results in profit for the farmer, they grow it. And last I looked, field corn, which is what they use for ethanol production, is not something grown to any large degree in the SE...what is grown there is to meet a local demand.

Wrong, wrong, wrong

You are wrong, wrong , wrong. The past two weeks as I drive back and forth to work I have watched hundreds of acres of field corn being harvested. Where is it going? Some to ethanol. Some farmers in this area have been approached about growing sugar cane. For what? Alternative fuels. By the way, they are also growing a lot of soybeans and they ain't for tofu.

Rum

Well, here in Florida we have a big sugarcane industry, and sugar can be made into ethanol very easily.

Big sugar in FL

Is totally beholden to big government. This industry can not compete in the world markets for either sugar or ethanol without socialist taxpayer subsidy help, so it very heavily contributes to politicians of all sorts.

lol, that's why we need to make more rum, it's the most profitable use of sugar. Same goes for corn squeezins.

I'd want to cut-off the Fanjul tax-money-spigot, too...

One thing my travels to Panama & Costa Rica have shown is just how cheap the human-consumption variety of ethanol can get, and consequently how much of what US citizens pay in too-high taxes for booze. I can only imagine the turmoil if Brazil ever enters the vodka market...But I'd love to have a still, even though I'm sure it would get me into trouble.

The Robert Byrd Appropriation hearing

I was amazed and disappointed that Newsbusters did not show excerpts of the Byrd hearing last week. Even after CSPAN repeated it several times.

The protesters were allowed to wave their banners and signs during testimony of Gates and Pace and Negroponte.  Not a single legislator had asked Chairman Byrd to expell from the room any person holding a sign, wearing a funny hat or wearing all pink apparel.  Anyone like that is NOT attending a hearing to listen to the views of other people on public policy.  Rather, they're there solely to express their own views---by disrupting the hearing.  Duhhh!!

Where was the republican senator who should have said, "Mr. Chairman, are you running a pep rally or a Congressional hearing.  Please let me know.  I think I walked into the wrong room!!!"

The only time the legislators decided to meekly complain was when the protestors interrupted THEM.

The Republicans should save the videos.  Especially the one in which Gen. Pace is making his farewell statement, speaking from the heart about his service, and the men who served under him, and all the while, there were protestors waving their signs right behind him, within camera range, and totally impervious to the senile Byrd and the spineless Republican senators.

During the presidential campaign, the republicans can play the video, and ask rhetorically: "If the Democrats don't know how to conduct a hearing, how can they be expected to run the country?"

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below.
She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!"
"I am," replies the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me."
The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am," replies the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air.
