Iran's military parade
September 22, 2007 - 10:42 ET by ThisnThatI noticed on Fox News.com that Iran paraded it's military hardware around yesterday, and that many of the missiles had "Death to America" written on them. Yet, Columbia University and the National Press Club still want to invite him as an honored guest.
I also searched CNN.com for a similar news article. Not to be found anywhere. Wonder what kind of priority CNN is applying to their news stories today?

BOTTOM FIVE
September 22, 2007 - 12:49 ET by ricklailI know that ESPN has it's Bottom Ten. My criteria is different. I only look at schools that play in BCS conferences and actually have a chance at a BCS bowl. Therefore, schools like Temple, FIU, Rice and Dook are excluded. So here we go.
1- Noter Dame-That's the way we say it in the South.
2-Mechegann
3-Tie Tenn/Auburn. This ranking is based on the BS they put out in their media guides
5-Wake Forest-They are the current ACC champs
Crummy game of the week Clem's son at NC State. Dook is puke, Wake is fake but the team I hate is NC State. GO HEELS
Rout of the week LSU 45 Gamechickens 6. The game hens the most overrated team in the SEC.
Upset special of the week Jawja 24 Bama 16. It is too bad that the great Larry Munson is not broadcasting away games. He would go nuts over this one. Sirius Radio is carrying the Bama broadcast with Eli Gold.

The Dragon Lady will be on
September 22, 2007 - 12:07 ET by HumanEventsThe Dragon Lady will be on with Chris Wallace tomorrow morning. Do you think there's a good chance Chris will ask some challenging questions, or will he be intimidated from the way The Great Stainmaker treated him a year ago? And if he does ask or bring up anything challenging or negative about the She-Devil, do you think she'll react similarly as her "husband" did last year?
And I see she's also on "Face the Nation" and "Meet the Press" tomorrow too (I'm not sure about "This Week"). We know what will happen with these shows! Just like last year after Sick Willie went ballistic on Chris Wallace he then soon went on Meet the Press, and Tim Russert didn't dare ask anything that would get under his skin.

The Shrillster won't go
September 22, 2007 - 16:10 ET by motherbeltThe Shrillster won't go ballistic. She is way too controlled. You can tell which questions she was worried about because she has a long-prepared canned response...she will do that hahaha thing that she does (Chris, you're such a card!!) and begin her answer "well, you know, Chris..."
And then sooner or later she'll go into that "condescension" thing, about how she can't control what people say about her, and she doesn't waste her time worrying about it, because it's time to talk about the 40 million people without health insurance, and the increasing strain on "working families" yada, yada, yada.
(I can't worry about myself, Chris, I have the entire country to save!!)
She is so canned and predictable it isn't even funny anymore. She is the Stepford candidate. You can even see her "working" at the body language thing. <GAG>
Agreed, mb
September 22, 2007 - 16:15 ET by BlondeBut I would surely love to see the big meltdown.
Maybe Chris should put a little something in her coffee....quadruple dose of caffiene to make her overly agitated...I'd love to see her melt down on national tv.
And we know she has a filthy temper.

September 22, 2007 - 19:15 ET by motherbeltEvening, blonde. I have been trying to find audio of that speech she gave some time ago (Hannity played it over and over) where she was railing about having a right to criticize the government, and she just kept getting louder and louder....she was really screaming by the time she got to the end.....
But that's not likely to happen in a 1 on 1 interview. Besides, she's a whole lot more controlled than her husband. He's the emotional one, she's very tightly controlled; everything she does and says is practiced, right down to the "correct" body language.
She'll smile at Wallace, no matter what, then go home and break some furniture.
Back at you MB
September 22, 2007 - 19:23 ET by BlondeI agree with everything you've said. With the caveat that Hillary thinks she's so smart, and she is so unused to being confronted or contradicted that if it happens more than once or twice, I think she might let her guard down if she gets mad.
I'm not sure Chris Wallace is intimidated by her, and I think he enjoyed all of the attention he got after Bill shoved his finger in Chris' face. So perhaps it's in the back of Wallace's mind to provoke Hillary? I'm hoping.
You're spot on about the body language, too. Too bad for HRC that she's not a very good actress. (Nor a singer...do you remember that video of her singing the National anthem...she didn't know the words, as well as not being able to carry a tune in a bucket....sheesh!)

Bravo motherbelt, boy did
September 23, 2007 - 10:31 ET by HumanEventsBravo motherbelt, boy did you ever accurately call this one. The Dragon Lady did everything you said she would. Boy were all three of those cackles loud, phony and obnoxious! Just like the wicked witch she is. And I'm glad Chris Wallace didn't shy away from asking her challenging questions. But as you said, she ignored them all and got into her talking points about "Well I'm focused on getting us out of Iraq and if this president won't do it then when I'm president I will" and her usual 47 million unisured health care nonsense.
The She-Devil ignored Chris's questions about her health plan creating new government mandates, about if she'll repudiate the moveon.org disgusting ad about General Petraeus (she says, "I think we should focus on Iraq and not debate about an ad"!!!!!), and every other question he asked. When he asked if George Bush had a point about her sticking by Moveon over the military she said no her doesn't have a point, but then, as always, stated no reasons why. She just launched into the same old tired pre planned talking points again. Her template is be negative about Bush 100% of the time but never using any substance or specifics (because there aren't any). Ironically, at the outset of the interview she said something about how we need to debate issues with substance because these are serious issues affecting our country! Substance is something she lacks more than Hawaii does snow (although maybe Algore's climate change can fix that).
Thought it was also so extremely frightening and insulting of her to say that she thinks Americans are eager to start acting like Americans again. I guess when Republicans are in the White House our very country ceases to be America, according to her.
And she boasts of winning 67% of the vote in New York. Yeah that makes her qualified for President, because she spent huge amounts of money (and received huge amounts of illegal contributions in both 2000 and 2006) to win election in a highly Democrat state.
Chris did what he could (except he could have interrupted her a little sooner when she went on and on and on with her blah blah blah talking points that were totally dodging his questions) in the limited time he had in this interview. I thought she looked extremely phony, irritating, unqualified, and disingenuous. But sadly her supporters were probably taken in by her "bring the troops home" and "47 million uninsured" horsespit, while not even realizing she was ducking the questions completely. And then, of course, there are also her supporters who can see through her fraud but will vote for her anyway because they want a big government socialist Democrat in the White House.
Oh yeah and isn't it something how she "answered" Chris's question about not supporting funding the troops by saying the best way to support the troops is to bring them home. Oh, so while they remain in Iraq let's not give them the equipment and funding they need. Boy she really supports those troops. (of course, the whole thing is ridiculous anyway because we all know she voted for the war and said Saddam Hussein had WMDs and needed to be disarmed. And now tries to say she had faulty intelligence but Bush somehow knew it was faulty but lied anyway. HA!).
But, as absurd and maddening and dangerous as it is, she's likely going to be voted into office next November. All I can say is:
BEAT THE SHE-DEVIL IN 2008!
Chris Wallace
September 22, 2007 - 12:25 ET by ChaitealoverChris Wallace doesn't get intimidated easily, did you hear his diatribe against Bill Moyer a couple of weeks ago? Chris'll ask Hillary tough questions and she'll navigate her way around them, using her pre-planned talking points, and never answer any she doesn't want to. I tape the show because it's on at 6 am here, but I'll only force myself to listen to her grating voice if I later read that she actually said something worth hearing. Then I'll listen so I can get the real context of what she was asked and how she answered.
"Our people have shed more blood for the liberty and freedom of other peoples...than all the other countries put together. And I don't feel any need to apologize for the United States of America" - Fred Thompson
Oh it absolutely would be
September 22, 2007 - 14:06 ET by HumanEventsOh it absolutely would be must see tv if the witch goes nutzoid. I sure hope Chris throws more than softballs, but my gut feeling is he will be far easier on her than he is on everyone else. Still, if he at least can muster the courage to ask her even one challenging question it will be one more challenging question than she's had in all of 2007.
And I also agree that she'll have her pre planned talking points ready and will dodge or ignore altogether anything challenging. But the thing is, unlike the "debates", this is an opportunity for Chris to then say, "Well with all due respect, Mrs. Clinton, that isn't what I asked you." It does little good to ask a tough question, then allow the person to ignore it completely, and then proceed to ask a different question as if she addressed the prior question. (However, that scenario would at least show viewers how she can't face questions of substance. Other than those dumb enough to be fooled by her talking points into thinking she did answer them).

September 22, 2007 - 21:10 ET by BradyI am a product of the University of South Florida (Class of 1998) and am proudly watching the USF Bulls have their way with schools with much richer football histories. USF began its football program in 1997 under the leadership of Jim Leavitt, joining the Big East in 2005. Currently ranked 23/24 in the nation, the team is ranked number 2 after Florida. Once again they have fielded a dynamic high scoring team, which is nearly entirely populated by Florida HS products. Go Bulls.

We are having our first of
September 22, 2007 - 18:44 ET by BDWe are having our first of what will obviously be many "Stolen Valor" moments for the Iraq War vets.
Surprise that this is not leading in the news, right?
A Washington man, whose claims to have slaughtered civilians as a U.S. Army Ranger in Iraq were seen by millions on YouTube, admitted in federal court in Seattle today that he was a fake and a liar.
Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, pleaded guilty to charges he faked his war record.
“He was in the Army for 40 days before he was kicked out of boot camp for being unfit,” said U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan. “He was never in Iraq.”
Macbeth’s story of killing men and women as they left a Baghdad mosque included claims that he was a U.S. Army Ranger and had received the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in combat in Iraq.
His interview was translated into Arabic and distributed in the Middle East, said the U.S. attorney.
“Macbeth’s lies fueled hostility to our servicemen in Iraq and here at home,” Sullivan said.
Macbeth, the phony U.S. soldier who claimed to have committed atrocities, was sentenced to five months in jail.
He told the judge today he wanted to apologize to “the real American heroes.”
He said he lied about his military record in order to get money and treatment from the VA hospital.

How 'bout 'em Dawgs?
September 23, 2007 - 08:58 ET by ricklailMy upset special was the Dawgs over Bama. I knew they had it in them. I am going to crow about that all week.
The headline in our local paper: Blowout Central: ECU, NC State, and UNC all lose-big. It was not a good day for a team that had Carolina in their name. This included the hens from Columbia.
App State lost to Wofford in Spartanburg. This ended their hold on the nation's longest winning streak at 17.

NEWSFLASH
September 23, 2007 - 09:32 ET by ricklailJust read that Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) is coming out with a new book "Here's the Story." In it she claims that she and Eva Plumb (Jan Brady) had a lesbian affair while filming the show. This in addtion to Greg (Barry something or other) claiming that he and Florence Henderson had a fling.
I believe that the guy who played the father, Robert Reed (?) was gay. Was he a member of NAMBLA and had way his with Peter? Maybe that will be next.
