The Clintons love (and encourage) the idea that they will always fight back. They think it makes them look tough; instead, they come off as vindictive, to the point of being petty. We never saw Kerry as vindictive.
The beltway consultants take it for granted that during the primaries, you play to the base, even to the fringe. Then in the general election, you appeal to the center. What most of America sees, however, is that if a candidate will say anything to anyone, none of it can be trusted. If you want us to forget what you said to that audience, why should we trust what you say to this audience? Hillary is running an efficient, consultant-perfect campaign. And she has said nothing of substance to hang your hat on. Clever evasiveness is admirable in a lawyer, but you can't lead others by evasiveness.
Maybe I'm naive, but I think most Americans place the welfare of their family above petty prejudices against women. And besides, no conservative will dispute that Margaret Thatcher was a great leader. Would that we had one of her kind here.
After sitting through one of Obama's stump speeched on CSPAN, I just don't see how anyone in their right mind could vote for Clinton. Everytime she opens her mouth, and uses that irratating screech of a voice, she's attacking someone or something. Everything is bad, bad, bad! Then she starts to spin herself up, her voice gets even harsher, and you start expecting her to clutch her chest and raise her other hand as a fist ala Hitler.
Obama was 180 out from Hillary. Everything was phrased as "we", "us", "ours", etc. He was calm, composed, and tried to sound hopeful about everything. The biggest difference I saw was that he was quick to spread the blame around between Dems and Republicans, and to say they all need to change. If I were a Dem I would definately vote for Obama, experience or not.

Leadership usually comes down to one thing: incentive. Telling me where you want me to go isn't enough; you have to show me why I want to go there, and why going there with you is better.
Go onto Hillary's website, and check out how she discusses issues. She did this, she did that. She'll pass this, she'll pass that. Not a word on how to get America to address problems ... everything is about how she'll solve problems on our behalf. When Reagan spoke, it was always about how we will address problems together. With Hillary, it's what Hillary will do. (So much for the village.) She's not a leader, because she doesn't want us to follow her. She wants us to authorize her to work on our behalf.
To her core, she's a lawyer. Lawyers don't want cooperation and help from their clients; they only want permission and a fee.
Otherwise why would she need and be getting all this Face time from the MSM ? ? They have to push her, change her image, do what they can to turn around her appeal.

Yesterday I started a rather lively thread about how it would be crazy for Michael Vick to take a plea as he would never be convicted a la OJ (since the media and others have made this a racial issue rather than a criminal one). Bad timing on my part. Redfaced and eggfaced I concede. In mitigation, however, as of yesterday they were convening a new federal grand jury inquiry, probably from facts garnered from further investigation and from the other convicted conspirators and I have since learned that Virginia was going to also charge Vick with various and sundry offenses. The pressure was on at it got to him. A lengthy trial would have been a disaster for him. The plea agreement may allow him to play in the NFL sometime after he serves his sentence. Personally I believe he is a thug, possibly pychotic and should be banned from the NFL for life.

"It's pretty hard to write a book saying, 'No new taxes, no new taxes, no new taxes' on every page."
Schroeder, who as a Colorado Democrat was once one of Congress' most liberal House members, was responding to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll that found people who consider themselves liberals are more prodigious book readers than conservatives.
She said liberals tend to be policy wonks who "can't say anything in less than paragraphs. We really want the whole picture, want to peel the onion."
Talk about painting with a broad brush, and totally exposing your own biases as to the reasons why this may be the case. This is about reading books, not about reading.
Could it be that book reading is down because:
a) Information is more readily available than ever via the internet
2) Books are pretty darn expensive these days, and
iii) More books are published with a liberal slant, naturally making liberals more likely to be willing to overspend on soon-to-be outdated books.

Also in the news, Rudy's questioner talked-back. I think Rudy's response to her might have worked better on a member of the news media. In mitigation, however, as of yesterday they were convening a new federal grand jury inquiry, probably from facts garnered from further investigation and from the other convicted conspirators and I have since learned that Virginia was going to also charge Vick with various and sundry offenses. The pressure was on at it got to him. A lengthy trial would have been a disaster for him. The plea agreement may allow him to play in the NFL sometime after he serves his sentence. Personally I believe he is a thug, possibly pychotic and should be banned from the NFL for life.

A commentary I saw on CBS Snooze Sunday Morning back in 1996 talked of a spurt in science-fiction shows being made for television, and proclaimed the reason for this spurt (as many dealt with fighting aliens and so on) was because of America's intolerance for immigrants. Then there was Lee Woodruff who was saying sexual perverts should be treated with Penthouse magazines exposing the ABC anchor's wife as suffering from a range of martyr psychopathies to Lane Hudson filing FCC papers on Fred Thompson being told what a coward he is in hurting people who never did anything to him.
All of that without one F word, one vulgar profanity, not one racist comment, not one personal attack on Arianna's looks, Bill Maher looking like a chimp and not one Nazi type people are subhuman attacks which fill Huffington to the brim.
I deem my banning on Huffington a mark of honor in Truth. Everyone should invest as I did and see if they can in 2 weeks beat the ban issued me.
Of course maybe it was Kupchak being told his Rockefeller boss was laundering dope money out of Cuba and Saddam's billions while he sits in Georgetown as a "fellow" got the big guns booming, but I recommend it as there is nothing so satisfying as being banned from blog sites when all you have done is spoken the Truth.
