It's no wonder Obama supporters are jumping ship, one day he's saying "buy American", the next day he's retracting it. Before the election he vowed to cut the budget, now he's spending a generation of wealth at a time. He said he would shut down Gitmo and end the war, he changed some words, pushed out dates a year, and expanded the war by 30,000 troops. Before the election he was pro-gun, now he's anti-gun. He said he was for stopping domestic spying before he was against it. He even swore he wouldn't allow lobbiests in his administration -- we all know how that turned out.
Obama is at it again. This time Fox News is reporting that two days after Obama took the widespread media glory for overturning the Federal ban on embryo research, he signed a law banning it again. Except this time there were no celebrations or media fanfare. It's almost as if Barack Obama has this country running full speed through a house of mirrors.

And how about the
March 15, 2009 - 08:01 ET by motherbeltAnd how about the economy?
First we were on the verge of a catastrophe, and suddenly, before any of the stimulus package has even been initiated, suddenly the economy is sound.
Didn't George Bush get excoriated for saying the fundamentals of the economy were sound?
Frankly, the more I hear from our fledgling President, the more I think he has no clue what he's doing.

And that's exactly what we have been saying for more than a year now, isn't it? This is what we get when we celebrate inexperience. We get --- well,,,, -- inexperience. By the boatload. Mixed in with socialism, and we have a president with no guideposts, no moral clarity, no ability to run anything. My hope is that one day he'll wake up and just quit.

Yea, T...I didn't mean to
March 15, 2009 - 09:36 ET by motherbeltYea, T...I didn't mean to make it sound like it was a new revelation.
I just meant that since he actually took office...
You're right; the signs were there all along. But Americans embraced hopeful change. (Hey, let's give a guy with zero experience a crack at the top job!)
That's change, all right.
Cross-posted from the thread about the lady with the Obamacar:
Another entry in the liberal dictionary:
George (the fundamentals of the econmy are sound) Bush: delusional moron.
Barack (the stability... of our economic system....[ ] is extraordinary) Obama: eternal optimist.

March 15, 2009 - 12:54 ET by slickwillie2001In that same vein, the classic movie 'Trading Places' was on last night and will be on BRAVO again Monday night, 630 & 900pm ET. (Don't expect to see that bathroom mirror shot on BRAVO though.)
We are Surprised Why?
March 15, 2009 - 12:42 ET by rightwingidiotBarkey boy has been lying his ass off for years. Why would we expect him to change, now?
He's a lying sack of crap used car salesman (no offense to used car salesmen) that couldn't find the truth if it was tatooed onto the palms of his hands.
Tuned out
March 15, 2009 - 15:38 ET by SeftonIt's been a few months now (yes, even before the election) that I've simply tuned the guy out. You don't have to be a genius to see that the man is either an outright con, or completely inept - and perhaps comprises both attributes. He's a caricature of the total fake that he illustrates daily and nothing he says means a damn thing to me.
How our country has allowed this to happen is simply a sad statement to our current electorate. "We want the world to like us"..."It's time for a black president - forget his policies"..."He's kinda cute"...and other incredibly shallow reasonings gave us this pitiful result.
Plain and Simple

Judging by his poll
March 15, 2009 - 19:24 ET by RR GOPJudging by his poll numbers, these things might actually be getting out there. I didn't think his poll numbers would ever go down, and if they did it would be at least a year.
Also heartening to hear that many Republicans are looking good in polls for various elected positions currently held by Democrats.
Still, too early to tell.
One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).
What did you expect?

Reflection in a Mirror
March 16, 2009 - 03:59 ET by russellshihWe've all heard the expression, "a mirror image". Most think the image and the reflection are the same when in reality---they are opposites. What we saw and heard from Obama on the campaign trail was one thing (the mirror image), and what we are getting now is the true Obama. A far left politician with an almost alien agenda. He simply wants to change American into his personal vision of what he thinks America should be. His ideals come from years of influence by people who believe that capitalism is an evil and corrupt system. He is using the economic downturn, which is a normal part of a free market system, to advance his agenda. An agenda not of the European socialist kind, but one much more radical and forign to the traditional American system. This is a power grab that puts the efforts of Hugo Chavez to shame. Its beginning to take shape and some see the looming dangers it presents, but most of the masses are still buying the rhetoric of this silver tongued snake-oil salesman.
