MSNBC's Bashir Bashes Romney as a 'Vacuous Candidate Who Doesn't Have Any Principles'
Setting aside any pretense of objectivity, MSNBC host Martin Bashir and guests ferociously attacked GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney during a segment of Thursday's program. In a discussion with Professors James Peterson and Michael Eric Dyson, Bashir bemoaned the pernicious impact of money in politics, particularly money raised by Romney. (video here)
Bashir: Professor Dyson, isn't that the problem that you have here a vacuous candidate who doesn't have any principles, who is surrounded by cash from individuals who have an agenda?
Naturally, Dyson was more than pleased to pile on, warning of a plutocracy representing "the vapidity and vacuity of an empty suit whose ideological perspective is shaped by the cash that flows into him." To lend intellectual strength to his contention, Dyson quoted from the hip hop song "Cash Rules Everything Around Me."
Gee, imagine that. Political candidates take money from people with money. Not only that, but those contributors have - gasp! - an agenda. And if I were an Obamabot, as these guys obviously are, I'd take it easy with those "empty suit" references.
No mention was made of Barack Obama setting records scarfing up cash and who would do even better if that darn day job didn't occasionally interfere with his bagman duties. Emotions are already running high at MSNBC. If someone there doesn't have an an apoplectic fit by Election Day, I'll be surprised.

Oh yes, Spiro Agnew had these types of people pegged when he called them "nattering nabobs of negativism" and "an effete corps of impudent snobs."

They keep crying about money in politics when what they really mean is money in Republican's hands.
Isn't Bashir Obama's little friend?

I thought Bashir was Obama's little friend. Why is he talking about Obama this way?

Great comment, just what I was thinking. Except that Bashir is not a "little friend" of Obama, he is so far into The One that I don't think you could get a piece of paper between them.

Hasn't Bashir's work visa expired? Why does MSNBC hire foreigners to bash Americans?

Yea, Bashir opens himself for ridicule every time he opens his mouth. Easy pickings on this guy.
You want to talk about lack of principles?

Obama changed his stance on same-sex "marriage" to get elected, and then again to satisfy his gay constituency.
He pandered to college students by promising lower student loan rates, and even floated the idea of loan amnesty.
He's trying to suck up to women by making the Catholic Church pay for services against her teachings.
And now he's pandering to Hispanics with his latest stunt.
He has no principles beyond his own re-election.
Obama didn't change on gay marriage, mb

No principles? Whatever

No principles? Whatever principles Romney has, it's more than what Bashir and the rest of the loons at MSNBC have. At least Romney respects life, not the culture of death the left pushes.
C'mon, Mr. Dyson, you can't be that stupid.

If all of that money was headed to their butt buddy Barack Obama, there would not be a word uttered about it. Being that a large sum of cash is going to Romney, they are all up ended. There is also the fact that Romney has been getting more cash infusions lately and the totals have beaten the Chosen one total intake for the last three months.

Bashir and the democrats didn't see anything wrong when Obama refused to take public financining of his campaign in 2008. It was fine with them when Obama had so much more money then McCain. The Obama campaign even turned off the address verification system so they could accept money from overseas and more than the limits that were legal. How about all the years the democrats had the advantage of union money and union boots on the ground? That was okay too.
They only complain now that Romney may have an advantage. They are acting like crybabies.

I'm not sure that Bashir is any more pro-Obama than Rush and Hannity are pro-Romney. Yes, it's bias, but so what? If any of the three had put the remarks in an op-ed in a newspaper, nobody would blink.
Honestly, why are we so outraged?

because of the hypocrisy on the left when it comes to wealthy people. Wealth is great when it's given to the Dems, but demonized when it goes to Republicans. So Mitt Romney is rich. Were the Kennedys (whom libs worship) poor? Noooooo. So Mrs. Romney rides expensive horses. Gee, who else might have done that? Hmmmm. Oh, yes, Jackie Kennedy.
