Jesse Jackson: 'It's an Honor to Be a Food Stamp President'

By Mike Bates | February 26, 2012 | 19:36

Weeks ago, Jesse Jackson accused GOP presidential candidate of "name calling" for referring to President Barack Obama as the "best food-stamp president in American history."  But Saturday morning at his Rainbow PUSH forum, broadcast nationally on the Word Network, Jackson appears to have decided that being characterized that way isn't so bad after all.

As he often does, Jackson directed (video here) the audience to repeat his words of wisdom on the subject:

Say, it's an honor to be a food stamp president.  Food stamps feed the hungry.  Food stamps save the children.  Food stamps help the farmer. Food stamps help the truck driver.  Food stamps help the warehouse.  Food stamps help the store.  Food stamps hire people and feed people.  Food stamps save people from starvation and malnutrition.  Whenever you attack feeding the hungry, you undermine the moral authority of our faith.  Give President Barack Obama a big hand.  Show your love.  Show your appreciation.

So is what Gingrich called Obama an insult or a plaudit?  It's unlikely the mainstream media will ask Jackson the question or if he truly believes it's an honor for a president to oversee the addition of more than 10 million people to the food stamp rolls.  The sensitive souls who report our news loathe ever putting the Most Reverend Jackson on the spot.

Being on food stamps isn't an honor for the people in this country who take pride in standing on their own two feet. There are some of us left. How proud Obama and Jackson must be to have ruined the economy so badly that people have to turn to food stamps, instead of away from them.

Proud member of the 53%!

that represents the entitlement state of mind more then this pronouncement. Its one thing to treat the high use of food stamps as an unfortunate circumstance, but to be proud of it? What is this country coming to.

D'ya know, Vet, that 'moot' actually has two polar-opposite meanings??? True story. One is as it is normally used - like it's a done deal, or not worth pursuing, or it's over, it's 'moot'........................yet 'moot' also means 'arguable'. Pretty weird, huh???

But this might be a moot post................

You confirmed my suspicions, Jesse suffers from moot in mouth disease.. The symptoms are constipation of the brain and diahreah of the mouth. Speech impediments are also found in people of lower intelligence.

The Poverty Pimp

Submitted by mmilesll on Sun, 02/26/2012 - 8:36pm.

Jackson has been nothing but a headline seeking poverty pimp and even now continues to divide us. Who would be out of a job and not be able to blackmail companies into giving him money if the race issue goes away as it has for 99.9% of Americans. He is a con artist and thief, enough with his crap.

Like Boy Barry, the 'Reverand' Jack-sonnnnnnnnn has never done a godda*m productive thing in his life, and has been living off of race-baiting, extortion, shake-downs, scams, and affirmative-action funding. In fact, his explanation and understanding of the food stamp issue is a microcosm of his, and Boy Barry's, concept of our whole economic system..................neither one of them has a clue about how it works.

If "Food Stamps" are so great, Jesse....

Submitted by Tugboat Phil on Sun, 02/26/2012 - 8:42pm.

why has the name and format been changed to an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card? Wasn't this done to reduce the stigma attached to having to count out the stamps at the checkout counter? Oh yeah, that's right. It was to streamline to system, cause gubmint is all about efficiency.

Oh yeah, unlike food stamps, EBT has been used for cash allowances through ATMs at casinos, liquor stores and strip clubs. Efforts are now being made to stop this, but only because the knowledge was made public.

Did He Really Say That?

Submitted by DaMama on Mon, 02/27/2012 - 11:43am.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe what I just read. How can anyone with an ounce of brain matter think it is good to have more people on food stamps? More food stamps means more people who can't provide for themselves or their families. Most people I know who are receiving any kind of assistance, be it from the government, family members or local churches, are embarrassed to be asking for help. Sure, there are those who have no problem taking what they don't have to work for, but most people would rather have a job so they can buy their own food.

Jesse Jackson proves that he is a brainless twit every time he opens his mouth.

His real reason..

Submitted by rowdygirl on Mon, 02/27/2012 - 11:53am.

He's made a very good living on the backs of "his people" and their dependence on the government, so he's not going to encourage them to do anything for themselves.
It's a crime, no doubt about it.

Jacksonomics

Submitted by Galvanic on Mon, 02/27/2012 - 3:01pm.

JESSE "Hooz ya daddy?" JACKSON"  "Say, it's an honor to be a food stamp president. Show your appreciation."

And there you have the underlying flaw of the Left, namely: Who pays for the food stamps? It doesn't matter!

I guarantee that if a Republican was President, Jackson would be saying, "We don't food stamps.  WE WANT JOBS."

I'm no Biblical scholar, but it seems to me that Jesus Christ turned a few fish and loaves of bread into meals for hundreds.  I don't recall him talking money from the rich to buy food for the poor.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So, when is Jesse going to emasculate the President like he said he wanted to do in 2008?  And considering the racial connotations of that threat, could Jackson be one of the threats to Obama that Farrakhan warned last weekend?
