At Rainbow PUSH, Walker Has Wisconsin 'For Sale Like a Two-Bit. . .'
The new civility demanded by liberals suffered a setback at Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Saturday morning forum this week. As televised on the WORD Network, featured speaker Democratic Wisconsin state Sen. Lena Taylor told a cheering audience that Gov. Scott Walker (R) "got our state for sale like a two-bit. . . " Taylor's PUSH appearance was reported by, among others, the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago's ABC 7 News, and the Huffington Post. None found Taylor's slur worthy of mention.
From the video:
TAYLOR: It's not acceptable that in this bill where my governor lies and says that it's for his budget, when he's already received all the concessions he needs from workers that he is really just giving away. It's not that our - he says that our state is open for business, he got our state for sale. Ooo. Ooo. Ooo. He got our state for sale like a two-bit. . . OK, hmm, hmm, you know what I was going to say. And it's not acceptable.
What is acceptable, apparently, is ruthlessly lashing out at one's political opponents. Not to worry. If you're a member of the "Wisconsin 14," the media will give you a pass on your more outrageous accusations.

"He got our state for sale...". Is this how Senators are supposed to speak? Is she taking lessons on 'black speak' from Hillary Clinton?

I only like Allen West and read Thomas Sowell's articles because I'm personally paying them to act conservative. I actually admire the wisdom of Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson-Lee.(double sarc.)
personally paying them

Thieves and terrorists are the ones who run and hide.
Who is standing up to hold a vote and who holds the vote hostage, who steals away the ability for democracy to procede, who assaults the process from the shadows, by hiding?
For sale? Hmmmm, how about SELL OUT!
not just about Wisconsin

I hope Walker holds his ground. He's carrying more than just his state now. If he folds then he will have enboldened the union and media thugs to push against Republicans everywhere for every issue.
The democrats want to undo last Novembers election results and the best way to do that is through intimidation.

But union-types are usually so peaceful. . .

Living in a traditionally unionized area I am fully aware of how uhh enthusicastically they can conduct their peaceful protests.

Is that still going? I remember I used to see Jesse Jackson running around Evergreen Park on Chicago's south side back in the early '70's. I remember that he was the first man I ever saw in a thousand-dollar suit! How is it that a guy who "speaks for the poor" dresses in a suit 10X the cost of the average man's outfit, much less a poor man's outfit? That's my memory of Jesse and "The Rainbow Coalition", which was what it was called in those days.

Serving "the people" does have its rewards. It was about 40 years ago that the Jesster was demanding "the Soul Saint" replace Santa Claus.
He's been a joke for all these years. One which we've subsidized, unfortunately.
Credit where credit is due....

Jesse wore those suits well.

I am amazed watching the union members supporting their high paid rulers. The bosses threw them under the bus,the told the state take their money for retirement / health care.
Do not risk (us) the union losing dues, force them to be paid. If the members are so happy with what the unions are doing they will gladly pay the dues. Unless the problem is many members are unhappy with union thugs taking thier money.
I remember back in the 20 years I paid union dues, the big union bosses from upiu would slide in town tell the workers we got the company by the n**s this time stick with us and we'll crush them . I always wonder who would pay us if we destroyed the mill or made it unprofitable ??
The union 90% of the time came back with the same or a worse offer, than the original, and it was, we'll get them in 2 years or 3 years. It was a ugly roller coaster.
The dems are misreading the 93 % of workers who do not belong to unions, 70000 people showed up in Madison to raise hell, 5 million did not show up. We went to work to pay our bills and taxes. Public workers are hurting their image. The vulgarity, violence , disgusting hitler / stalin signs. The trashing of the beautiful capitol and grounds are just one more cost.

Some conservatives separate the leaders of the unions from the rank and file, and sympathize with the "average" worker. That's fine.
But I have to still ask: Who's making these characters the leaders in the first place?
you ask "Who"?

Mike, you've never voted in a union election, have you? ;->
It goes like this - "Vote for "X" (underlying "or else" implied)".

No, I haven't. But if they're as you describe, then why do union brothers and sisters protest about having their rights stolen? They've already been taken.

I have voted in union elections where there has been opposition. The problem is that the bosses are able to dupe the mindless members of just about anything. When you oppose the bosses, you are equated with being a scab for management. Unfortunately, most of the members are too narrow minded and frankly, too stupid to see anything other than the union point of view!`

Sen. Taylor I don't know what you were going to say. Was it two-bits as in twenty-five cents? If so, then you're correct. Gov. Walker sales price is far too low - I'm sure you can get a least a buck for Wisconsin based on the fiscal nightmare he inherited from Democrats. It's amazing how leftist get away with racial slurs like the recent racist attack by “Chauncey deVega” of a black conservative, Herman Cain.
