USA Today: 'Obama Gets Thumbs Up from Focus Group'

Barack Obama's many failings are increasingly apparent.  Consequently, even the mainstream media are finding it difficult to keep up the facade.  So difficult, in fact, that USA Today now deems newsworthy the findings of a 12-person focus group conducted by a longtime Democratic operative.

USA Today's Susan Page reports the happy news in the piece "Obama gets thumbs up from focus group."  It begins:

TOWSON, Md. — President Obama has seen his approval ratings slide, but a dozen independent voters who gathered here for a roundtable discussion about politics were still inclined to give him a break.

The area residents expressed deep worry about the country's direction and a sobering view of the problems ahead. There was also a reservoir of good feeling for a president several referred to familiarly as "Barack."

Asked what he would like to say to Obama, Scott Wood, 35, who has been looking for a job since February, advised: "Don't give up yet; we haven't."

"We've found out he's not Superman," said Nora Seeley, 54, when asked what she had learned about the president during his first six months on the job. Still, she said, "things are starting to turn around."

The focus group, held Wednesday night, was sponsored by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.

It isn't until the eighth paragraph that readers learn the session was moderated by "Democratic pollster Peter Hart."  The fifteenth paragraph also discloses a relevant fact:

Seven of the participants voted for Obama last year; four for his Republican rival, Arizona Sen. John McCain; and one for third-party candidate Ralph Nader.

And what would an Obama happy-talk article be without a little Rush Limbaugh bashing?

"Asked whom among a dozen prominent people they would least like to be seated next to on a plane, six picked radio host Rush Limbaugh and four House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif."

Much of the mainstream media invested heavily in Obama.  They will continue promoting him and his leftist agenda, portraying him a success when the truth is very different.

A dozen people in one of the country's most reliably Democratic states realize Obama's not Superman but still hold out hope for their Barack, and it makes headlines.  Perhaps next week will bring the breaking news that Michelle Obama thinks her husband's doing a darn fine job.

Aw Yes, USA Today

I actually take pleasure in taking the USA today off the door knob of my hotel room when I travel.  That way I can put it into the trash and know that at least one copy won't be around to influence the weak minded.  Of course, being environmentally sensative, I often use the plastic bag it's in to hold sweaty work out cloths for the trip home.

Hold on to those plastic bags

They might be an essential part of ObamaCare, for those seniors who don't get with the program after their end of life counseling session.

Be Green!

Just think....it's a double grand slam success, this democrat plan for senior (non) health care.

Be Green & Be Dead.  Your children will thank you.  The earth will thank you.

Hmmmm....can the Bamster sell it or what?

I hope he fails, too.

Don't forget, Blonde

that your government will also thank you.  Less money for SS, Medicare, etc. translates into more money for all those "shovel ready" projects that are so dramatically turning around the economy.

They ought to!

Seeing how I pay for all this stuff anyway!

LOL, Bamster was just bloviating about how his stimulus package was working great!  That 1% quarterly drop in GDP is a good thing, Martha.

Pass the tinfoil, Mike.  We're gonna need it.

I hope he fails, too.

Barack Obama worshippers,

Masters of "magical thinking"

In other news:

More people laid off, in spite of  stimulus success.

Coolest July on record, in spite of global warming.

Recovery continues apace, in spite of GDP drop.

And this masterpiecr of oxymoronship:

Majority of people don't approve of Obama, but they  still think he's doing fine.

Blonde,

I think you've come up with our name for Obama care, Senior Non-Care.  Or, just Non-Care.  Just a thought, I heard Peter King (R-NY) on the radio today.  He claimed that the health care plan that congress, the Pres, SCOTUS and all federal employees is the same plan.  Does anyone know, off the top, if that's true?

Don't forget the rubber

Don't forget the rubber band wrapped around the paper either.  That will help.

"Obama lied, transparency died!" Michelle Malkin

Michael,

LOL-Yeah, they can use the bags to keep their pain pills in, then when they run out and the government won't give them anymore, they can perform a post-natal abortion on themselves.

I still can't believe the MSM let Obama slide on that stupid pain pill comment. Can you imagine the eruption if GWB had said that?

A Dem host.

And: Seven of the participants voted for Obama last year; four for his Republican rival, Arizona Sen. John McCain; and one for third-party candidate Ralph Nader.

What do you mean a stacked deck?  Noooooooooo.

I was going to say look at

I was going to say look at where it is-Towson Md. I don't think the One would play that good here in Eastern NC.

USA Today is biased beyond belief...

We cancelled our subscription right after the election, and we don't miss it one bit. The "news" sections were a joke. What are supposed to be straight news stories (non-opinion pieces) are laden with liberal bias and subjective reporting. I could not stomach it anymore, just for the sake of a quick read on health news (which is why we kept getting it) -- you can find all the AP health updates (like from the NIH and CDC) online, as well as all the rest of the news.

Good For You

I read an article about baseball players (playing today) who tested positive in 2003 for steroids. The leaks are seemingly infinite. Even so, the news media is fast to hone in on the story and focus on the players.

My immediate reaction was Obama blaming Bush again for something and the news media shifting concentration away from Obama. This occurs on TV, the radio, in print, and through SEIU/ACORN.

I took a random survey of my 7 dearest friends and 4 of the 7 said they liked me.  I guess you could call that a "thumbs up!"

No, mattm

That's TWO thumbs up. . . .way up!

Aha!

But how many thumbs are up the Focus Group's butt?  Trick question.  It's a Leftist group so . . . . as many as they can insert.

A Brick Through The Wall

There is at least a small victory in this article, because in it a committed Obama supporter admits realizing that Obama isn't Superman. And that things aren't going so well, even if they're still hopeful. For USA today to print this news - this truth - was a serious breach of the progressive code, but they did it anyway. Are they the first rat off the ship?

What's happening underscores what Rush Limbaugh meant when he said he hopes Obama fails. Obama is not getting his programs through - he is failing - and that was necessary in order to keep the US from crashing for real.

But Obama gets a thumbs

But Obama gets a thumbs down from his Digusting Old Pervs supporters.

Lary Flynt has thrown Obama under the porn star, and dissed him.

Rather than thumbs down, maybe that was a thumbs up his butt from the perv.

Thanks Barack: from post-racial to most-racial in just six months!

I found numerous focus groups

Way back on April 15th there were focus groups across the country that included hundreds of thousands of participants that weren't reported on.

What makes this group of 12 so important?  Other than to point out that at leaqst twelve people are too stupid to learn?

Stay focused...

I don't have all of the facts about this survey yet but I think the focus group acted stupidly.

ac... LOL... 'Stupidly'

ac...

LOL...

'Stupidly' indeed!

What's funny is they assume we all are when they print this drivel.

That calls for another beer

That calls for another beer fest doesn't it?

It's rather like when the

It's rather like when the elitists give rave reviews for a movie or TV show and then you watch it (maybe) and it actually blows.

Then the movies you really do like get two star ratings and the TV shows you like get canceled early on.

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).

USA Today...Susan Page...Annenberg...Peter Hart.

Throw in big bad Rush and you've got it all for the leftist propaganda.

Never-ending...and some say they are just now figuring out he isn't Superman....

Isn't that special.

A friend's daughter who just turned 16 went out job hunting recently. She went out on a Tuesday, and spent most of the day filling out applications. That night around 10pm, she got a call saying she was hired, and she started the next day. Granted, it's not a great job, but minimum wage is over $7/hr now. It took her one whole day to find a job in a community that doesn't exactly have a booming job market, yet this guy hasn't found anything going on 6 months?

USA Today is always good
