Did Chicago Tribune Get Only Anti-Palin Letters to the Editor?

Mainstream media complicity to destroy the candidacy of Sarah Palin is obvious.  Numerous instances have been cited here at NewsBusters, some outrageously blatant.  Slightly more subtle bias was evident in today's print edition of the Chicago Tribune.  Nine letters to the editor were printed; eight of them were overtly anti-Palin and/or anti-Republican.  The remaining letter was a plea for "the birth control education and access" that kids "so obviously need."

A few opinions expressed in today's "Voice of the People:"

But Sarah Palin herself is entirely fair game. The Republican Party has failed governing for eight painful years, all the while rubbing family values and their self-righteousness in the faces of the rest of us. Now that it has been revealed that Palin's 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant, the GOP is unmasked and shown to be patently hypocritical and duplicitous. It's absolutely repugnant, and the stench is sure to last well beyond Nov. 4.

Who is going to take care of the 4-month-old while Sarah Palin travels the country campaigning? The 17-year-old? For the experience?

The revelation of the pregnancy of Sarah Palin's daughter does make one curious about Palin's ambition. What would possess someone, knowing that her teenage daughter was facing an unplanned pregnancy, to accept an offer to run for national office?

If family values are so important to Palin, she should have proved it by putting her family's privacy above political ambition.

Amazingly, the "Voice of the People" is strikingly similar to the views advanced by liberal Democrats and their lapdogs in the media.  Accompanying the letters is an unflattering sketch of Sarah Palin.  Might as well cover all bases, just in case someone doesn't read the submissions.

Does anyone  - other than maybe Keith Olbermann or Jack Cafferty, who works his own magic in distilling the public's opinion - believe that 90 percent of the letters to the editor received by the Chicago Tribune are anti-Palin?  That what the newspaper printed today is a typical sampling?  I don't.

 I just heard from Michael

I just heard from Michael Steele that he saw democrat emails going around outlining how they want to run Sarah Palin off from McCain in  a week from today.

If that happens, it will be time to "go to the matresses".

Palin off the ticket?

I just heard from Michael Steele that he saw democrat emails going around outlining how they want to run Sarah Palin off from McCain in  a week from today.

I'm surprised they're willing to wait a whole week.  They're getting desperate and it's obvious.  At least to us.

Yeah, Bates

But Republicans and Democrats alike know what dropping Sarah from the ticket would do.

Typical Chicago Thug machine at work.

Typical Chicago Thug machine at work.

Didn't you see the pictures from last week's Demo convention with Daley, Blago, Madigan, et al squeezing one another?

It's a Hug machine now.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.

Absolutely not.

Being a southern boy I have

Being a southern boy I have this notion of Yankee’s being just like what you said “believe that 90 percent of the letters to the editor received by the Chicago Tribune are anti-Palin.”  I actually have to work hard separating myself from the notion that all Yankee’s are not like that.  But, it is most likely a notion placed there by the media and their snobbery.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

Yankees?

I actually have to work hard separating myself from the notion that all Yankee’s are not like that.

Only the ones who get published in the Chicago Tribune. Today, anyway.

Well, I'm from Western New

Well, I'm from Western New York, but I don't consider myself a Yankee, but as "Behind Enemy Lines."

Tit for tat

So who is going to care for Obama's kids when he is President and his wife is at her patronage job? And where is the DNA proof that Obama is the father of those kids?

Ma belle's job

So who is going to care for Obama's kids when he is President and his wife is at her patronage job?

Strictly speaking, it's not a patronage job since the facility isn't public, just gets government grants.  And the fact her salary shot up within weeks after his election to the Senate is strictly a coincidence.  Strictly.

One hand washes the other

Think she'll get 4 to 8 years of paid leave if Obama is elected?

Paid leave

Think she'll get 4 to 8 years of paid leave if Obama is elected?

Bonuses can be handsome, particularly when you're an invaluable member of the team, bringing oh so much to the table.

I don't understand

Obama is supposed to have this in the bag.  In fact, the MSM is all but saying that Bush should resign now and McCain should call for Obama's election by acclamation with the Annoited One's inauguration in front of the United Nations HQ taking place next week.  The addition of a pro-life gun-toting female governor from the wilderness to the Republican ticket should only HELP Obama win.

So why the hysteria from the Left and the MSM?

Hmmmm?

Hysteria

So why the hysteria from the Left and the MSM?

I think they're getting worried they might not be in control after all.  Sarah's popularity is a real puzzler for 'em.

Ahh, correct me if I am

Ahh, correct me if I am wrong, but was not Obama's mother "with child" at 17, and unmarried at the time? Seems to me, if you are going to throw stones, one should throw them both directions.

An I will bet you money that Obama and Michelle were using birth control before they were married. Can we get a read out on how old Michelle was when she started having sex?

Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

Read out

Can we get a read out on how old Michelle was when she started having sex?

Do we have to?

Michael...not really....it

Michael...not really....it is just a sort of question following the same lines they are using on Palin. A metaphor, so to speak. I dont understand why it is that a DUI more than 20 years ago is more important than snorting coke 20 years ago. Among other things. Why skim over the Obama's past and dig in deep on the Palin's. I know why the MSM is doing it, but seems to me someone out there should sort of balance out the scales here. If certin information was avaliable on the Obama's, would that not discourage this sort of "trash" journalism of the Palins?

Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

Obama news, bass

If certin information was avaliable on the Obama's, would that not discourage this sort of "trash" journalism of the Palins?

Possibly, bass, but all we need to know about BO is he's for change.  Oh, and was a boffo community organizer, too.  And has a couple of cute little girls.

That will always be the MSM focus.

Typical Liberals

"Who is going to take care of the 4-month-old while Sarah Palin travels the country campaigning? The 17-year-old? For the experience?"

I guess us fathers are only good for making babies and not raising them and the rest of a family (brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc) just sit around watching NASCAR reruns while ignoring the needs of a child.

Typical liberals, they can’t accept the idea that, for most people, a FAMILY cares for their children and not a single mother and a government appointed Social Worker. But that’s what happens when you view a baby as an inconvenience and not as an individual, a member of a family.

Obama: My job is above my pay grade

Inconvenient babies

But that’s what happens when you view a baby as an inconvenience and not as an individual, a member of a family.

Or see the baby as a punishment.

The Glass Diaper

You got it. This false liberal belief that a baby is a punishment or an impediment to working mothers, that becoming a successful working mother is not possible in America without resorting to victim status in order to reach your full potential, is the Glass Diaper that Sarah has broken.

Sarah Palin is a true American success story. I can understand why the liberals are upset. A conservative woman has accomplished what few liberals can even DARE to try. She's a successful mother AND a Governor who proves that someone can raise a family and be a civic leader simultaneously. She's proof that a working mother can be highly successful, and can achieve that success without having to resort to claiming victim status as the liberals always do. The liberals HATE her for that.

Obama: My job is above my pay grade

The shotgun approach they

The shotgun approach they are trying to use throwing everything they can possibly think of at her hoping something will stick shows their panic level.

The are so many different attacks going on via the MSM and the blogs that it is such a target rich environment you need to filter the stuff just to determine which attack you are going to try to counter.

Like a horde of Chinese topping the ridge during the Korean War.

If she survives all this then they really will have some egg on their faces and a bunch of crow to eat and if they still maintain credibility it will be a wonder.

Thanks to archive sites and feeds via RSS from the opposition sites they can cover all their tracks and a good look back can be done in a week or so.
