Amy Schumer Accepts 'Glamour' Award With 'I Can Catch a Dick Whenever I Want' Boast

She’s funny, but she’s way raunchy.  Comedian Amy Schumer spared nothing during her acceptance speech at the 2015 Glamour U.K. Women of the Year ceremony.

After calling out British singer Ellie Goulding, and cracking, "I love the way Ellie was like, 'Thank you for loving real people,' and she's like a f**king supermodel. Like, the little uglies, you found us”, it only took her 48 seconds into her speech to drop the following bomb:

"I'm probably, like, 160 pounds right now and I can catch a d**k whenever I want…Like, that's the truth. It's not a problem." This is "empowering" when women say it...but it would be "dehumanizing" if the genders were flipped.

She told the audience that someone on the red carpet asked her if she “felt out of place,” “of course not…like I’m very glamorous!”

Speaking of d**k, Schumer gave quite an interesting comparison of how Glamour U.K. magazine differed from the sexist treatment of other magazines when it came to photoshoots:

"Any comic in the room knows that when a female comic does a photoshoot they're like, 'Oh cool, can you hold this plastic d**k over your head?’ ... They're the first magazine that was like, 'Smile,' and I was like, 'Where's the d**k? And they were like….no...Just be you.”

Schumer went on to describe how Glamour had given her a voice to speak out on self-esteem and body acceptance.  She said:

“I’m not going to apologize for who I am and I’m actually going to love the skin that I’m in and not striving for some other version of myself.”

Schumer’s main message was accepting who you are and being comfortable in your own skin, and that’s a great message to send to young women, but this could’ve been done without the in-your-face overuse of vulgarity.  A speech that originally took five minutes and 43 seconds could’ve been taken down to two minutes or less and still get the same point across…and been much classier.
