Rapper Lupe Fiasco Ejected from Concert, Organizers Insist It Wasn’t for Anti-Obama Rant

Rapper Lupe Fiasco was told to leave the stage at a Washington, DC concert after playing a single anti-war song for 30 minutes and informing the audience that he did not vote for President Obama.

Organizers insisted he was not forced out due to his political speech but rather because of his “bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance.”

This was not the first time that the rapper, whose real name is Wasalu Muhammad Jaco has condemned Obama. According to the Daily Caller, Jaco is a very staunch critic of American foreign policy and Obama’s direction of it. In 2011, he called the president a “terrorist:”

“My fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama and the United States of America. I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism.”

“You know, the root cause of terrorism is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists.”

Jaco is also known for condemning fellow rappers for their frequent usage of offensive language to describe women in their lyrics. In September of 2012, he released an album and said it would probably be his last.

“This album will probably be my last...its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family” He explained his reasoning in another tweet: “but my heart is broken and i see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this...”

Perhaps that explains why Jaco was also unafraid to reveal his thoughts about Obama. Kudos to him for being consistent on the issue. Unfortunately, the former concern that many left-wingers had expressed about terrorism and civil liberties has basically vanished during the Obama presidency. Particularly notable in its absence has been a discussion on the left of Obama’s long-standing policy of using drones to kill accused terrorists, even if they are American citizens who have not been tried.
