Open Thread: SOTU Recycling
As a liberal, President Obama is a firm believer in recycling, apparently in areas in which one doesn't normally expect to see recycling. Check below the break for a great video that shows just how often he uses the exact same themes and even phrases in his speeches.
At the very least, is it possible that some of the trillion dollars Obama's spent could go toward paying someone else to write at least one other speech?

The 2012 clips should be played backward, though, since that's where the SOTU has gone in the last year.

I didn't see it because I can't stand watching and listening him, so I can't comment on last nights address. However I sure "hope" it was Zippy's last SOTU.
Facts are like kryptonite to the liberal.

I did not watch the speech because I already knew what he was going to say-Nothing New. His continued attack on the wealthy and his class warfare will be all we hear from now until the election. What I find baffling is why the Republicans keep attacking each other in this primary season when they should talking about Solyndra...Fast and Furious...The Keystone XL Pipeline and so much more. Instead we're talking about Romney's tax problem...Newt Gingrich and his Fannie Mae connection and the war inside the Republican party. This all has to stop NOW. A sure way for BO to be re-elected is this continued in-fighting. Please get back to the issues and the decline of the country-all other matters can wait.
Cobokat, you are so right.

Cobokat, you are so right. The candidates have a plethora of things to go after President Downgrade for. Bringing subjects like F&F, Solyndra, Keystone, NLRB and the Dept of Justice in general up in debates and speeches would shed more light on these subjects than the LSM has done.
They have to STOP attacking each other!!! They are doing nothing but give ammo to Odumbo and the rest of the libturds for the coming election.
What I would love to see happen at the next debate is to have the candidates hijack it from the moderators. They should ignore the stupid questions that are worded so they fight amongst each other and raise the above mentioned subjects and what they would do to prevent them from happening and call out the LSM for covering for the Dems by not reporting on them.
I will say this again and again until I am blue in the face, the BEST format for the candidates I have seen so far in this election season is the Huckabee format from a few months ago. Each candidate came out by themselves and answered questions from 3 State AG's. Each candidate had the same amount of time. After their time was off they left and the next candidate came on. And I do not know how it was backstage but I hope that they did not let the candidates that had not been on watch the previous candidates answers. I think that would be an unfair advantage.
I can tell you after watching the candidates in that forum I came out strongly for Rick Perry. He is not a good debater but his responses to questions on immigration and States rights struck the right chord for me.
Save the debate format for when it is Republican vs Democrat. Of course out of all the candidates remaining I feel Newt is the only one that will eviscerate Odumbo and leave him crying on the floor for his mommy.

if the Republicans hammer each other on all this stuff now, then it's already out in the open and has been dealt with by the time the general election comes around. So when the dems bring anything up, the Republicans can say "that? we already discussed that during the primary, that's old news". Then they can focus on beating obama over the head with his own record. I don't much care for the in-fighting among the Republicans either, but this is my way of trying to have a positive view of how the primary is going.

I quit watching the RBFSOB long ago. I've heard it all before.
I quit watching Castro after one or two of his commie rants.
I quit watching tapes of Stalin's commie rants.
I quit watching film of Hitler's crazy, fascist rants.
I quit watching Hugo Chavez's commie rants.
Someone up the chain above said it better than I can. It's the SOS everytime, from every would-be dictator; "blah, blah, blah, blah, or you're going to die!"
If the majority of the country wants to go the way of other countries who bough that crap, fine. I don't choose to go with them.

Obama promised to fight obstructionism. Maybe Dulcolax© would help.
Far from his Administration being impacted by obstruction, it was my impression the opposite was the case.
Going To Need More Than Dulcolax

Will need to go straight to the heavy hitters like Miralax plus Dulcolax, as is used prior to a colonoscopy. I would also advise manual disimpaction by a first year on-call resident physician before the Gatorade cocktail to prevent rupture of Obama's bowel/brain barrier, also referred to as cranio-rectum by Dr. Sam.

Liberals have been "breaking the cycle of poverty" for what, 50 years now?
No surprise that those roads and bridges are still crumbling. Wasn't the stimulus supposed to take care of that?
Same BS, different day.
Didn't watch it. I cannot stand to watch the man speak.
But at least now I know I didn't miss anything that I didn't miss LAST year.

... You are correct (per usual). It is the same BS... The theme has always been: "Individualism is the road-block to progress and it is only the 'collective' that can satisfy the needs of people."
I did try to listen to the SOTU here at the "NB Chat" - Thankfully, both my physical (can't sit in the same position for long) and mental condition (boredom with the stupidity eminating from 'The Won') prevented me from continuing past the 30 minute mark... You missed nothing.

Revealed to all
Submitted by jon_torlin on Wed, 01/25/2012 - 9:39am.
I like many others here watched the campaign speech for it wasn't a SOTU, but more like him telling people to STFU about what's going on and listen to only him. It was all about him. Oh yeah, he changed accent at least 8 times, maybe 10. That was not a little disturbing.
What the people should realize is that with all these proclamations and etc that he gave, he revealed himself to be the face of evil, the dictator, where he not just once, but twice, even more, indicated he wouldn't work with Congress if they didn't give him something he wanted, and would take action on his own.
He repeatedly said this because he knows that unless Congress takes action or if the SCOTUS takes action against this dictator, he can do pretty much whatever he wants, and to hell with the Constitution which he has violated several times over.
What troubled me greatly was that his mannerisms and his attitudes, the way he was, it reminded me of other historical figures like Hitler, Mao, Chavez, and Castro. Watch some of their speeches and you'll notice some very striking similarities. Even disturbing. You don't even have to understand the language, just look at how they carry themselves.
I'll say it again. This manchild has revealed himself to be a dictator not just by his actions, but his statements last night.
What remains to be seen is what will or will not happen.
God help us.

I listened to it on Cam and Company because he had some folks on there giving running commentary. (I can't recall the names.) So while they were talking I didn't have to listen to most of his BS.
I think most of us knew it was going to be about class warfare. I wonder why Buffet's secretary had to catch a 6 AM flight back to Omaha. I know she was no more than just a prop. Is she now worthless to Obama? Is he afraid that Fox might interview her? Has anybody in the MSM interviewed her? I would like to hear her side of it. Is she envious of her boss?

Same old non-sense. I can't listen to any liberals really. I always have to read the transcripts. I watched some of Bill Moyers show the other day and my head almost exploded as a result. He had a journalist on that talked about the usual class warfare stuff, the bank bailouts, etc....and she had the nerve to say that up until Occutard Wall Street, people had been silent about government spending and bailouts. Um...excuse me?....remember that horrible Tea Party you people loved to loathe? Oh.. yeah, they were upset about taxation and spending but that was just cover for racism. Man, these libs disgust me. They lie as easily as they breathe.

It is already done in fuel and any number of vices and people look the other way. But if the government is partially controlling fuel and transportation costs that is actually enough to partially control prices throughout the market and bring a whole new level of government regulation to bear.
They already have undue influence over rail with subsidies, undue influence of shipping with port fees and now airlines. Not to mention the strong of the Unions to protect them at every point.
Don't like our policy then the transportation cost on your product increases and you can not compete.
Obama's weapon of choice

Drones (not speaking of Obama's SOTU address) are still being hacked by personnel in Iraq and Iran and somehow this is still not major news to our media. The same media that bring to the public every detail of Pat Sajek drinking on set (did anyone watch the old game shows? who wasn't drinking?)
Obama's weapon of choice has been the drone with all that it implies and yet we are still susceptible.
For the next eight months we will have to hear about the FP brilliance of Obama and ignore these tedious little events.
