Republicans Win Two Governor Races, LAT Focuses on Dem Regional Wins

Sometimes spotting liberal bias is like shooting fish in a barrel. The folks at the Los Angeles Times really must have been trying to make it easy, however by downplaying two Republican gubernatorial victories (state-wide) and playing up two House races won by Democrats.

"Democrats win congressional victories in California, N.Y." the paper's editors are touting on the site's home page. The linked story is similarly absurd (no wonder it has no byline).

It's almost surreal. Republicans haven't won governor's race in Virginia since 1997. In New Jersey, it's been the exact same amount of time for the GOP. Oh and did I mention that President Obama won both states? Never mind. The Times editors know where the real news is: a regional race where California Democrats were trying to keep control of a seat they already had held.

Oh and before you try the "Times was trying to localize news angle," consider that the other race the L.A. paper highlighted was for a New York House seat in a contest that was a 3-person affair until Republican nominee Dede Scozzafava threw the contest to the Democrat Bill Owens.

Doesn't matter. No matter how well Republicans do electorally, there is always going to be a cadre of media spinners predicting sunny skies for Democrats.

I have to agree with Mickey Kaus, this sort of news judgment is really tough to find.

The guy at the gravestone

The guy at the gravestone says how they really feel though, eh?!

"liberal bias"

The democrat party is not made up of liberals. Many, if not most, of the people that vote for them are people who would vote against homo "marriage", & etc., totally contrary to the dem leaders.

Such kneejerk support of dems as this is not really "liberal". "Leftist" really defines it better.

Newspaper Revenue Graphic

Was it here that I recently saw the graphic of the revenue of the WSJ, NYT, Wash Post, Boston Globe and LA Times over the past 20 years?

The WSJ was at the top of the graph and has a rise.  Every other newspaper was crashing straight down and the biggest loss percentage wise from what they once were to now (I'm thinking I remember over 2,500,000 subscriptions to today under 500,000) was the LA Times.

Newspaper excuses

Newspapers continually blame the internet for their diminishing readers and subscribers. Self evaluation might just save their paper and their jobs. Somehow they have created a mindset of self created worth and value to liberals. They could survive and grow  by printing the truth.

OK - what about the lying

OK - what about the lying liars in the WH, and the BS comment last night that President Obama was not watching the election returns?

My dear old Dad used to tell me to watch out for people who lie about the small stuff - there is NO DOUBT that they lie about the big stuff too. And, on top of everything else, these WH liars are as obvious as can be. (heh - I guess thats the transparency that they spoke of?)

Now, it's possible that Dear Leader was not sitting in his presidential theater-room with a box of popcorn, but I guaran-damn-tee you he was hyper-aware of what was going on last night. He personally endorsed and campaigned for Deeds in VA, he sent Biden off to NJ to bumble some kind of support for Corazine. There is no chance that he was not either "watching" the process, or being continually apprised of the situation by staffers who were glued to the TV sets.

I just don't understand what these fools hope to accomplish with such stupid lies. No one who cares the tiniest bit if Obama was watching and what his reaction was could possibly believe them, and the gullible masses that will buy anything Obama is selling were probably unaware that yesterday was even an election day.

Reform Congress NOW

I'm glad that there is a growing movement to elect conservatives to office.

My concern is that I have yet to see a clear reform agenda emerge.

I believe this agenda must have the goal of reforming Congress. Otherwise, we will simply place conservatives into the current, corrupt Congressional system where their political survival depends upon their ability to play by Congress' rules.

Eric Felten's book, The Ruling Class: Inside the Imperial Congress (Heritage Foundation, 1993), offers a clear, eleven point agenda for Congressional Reform.

Congressional Reform should be front and center of a clear, conservative agenda.

AP

My wife wrote to the AP earlier today when they did the same thing. She pointed out their obvious bias.I think it helped because they did change their headlines later. However, this demonstrates once again what we already know---modern "liberals" are dishonest brokers who can never be trusted. It's why I write my tag line..

NEVER,NEVER tust a "liberal"

Nothing in Houston either

The 5th largest newspaper in the country seems to have left off the national election results on its home page as well: http://www.chron.com

If you can find it let me know. I'm also looking for Waldo.
