Anyone have any suggestions for the MSM on what label they could give Edwards instead of the (D)?

He says he did not love her.   Well that will sit well with the media but do women really want to hear that he had sex with a woman he didn't love and possibly conceived a child with a woman he did not love.   I don't know if this is a positive character trait.

A paternity test will be easy. So do it.  But remind me again why you'd be visiting a woman and her baby at 2pm in the morning again?   Sounds like a great Jerry Springer show. 

With Edwards, that is.

He has cashiered all his credibility, what little he was presumed to have even by the most virulently liberal. 

"Oh, but I didn't love her."  Let's see if that ameliorates things with his wife.  And wasn't she ill?

Aside from Elizabeth Edwards and the Edwards kids is the lamestream media. By intentionally burying this story, they've only further cemented their reputation as shills for the Democrat Party.

Next time a newspaper wonders why it has to lay off dozens of staff members or a cable network is puzzled how FoxNews is #1 in the ratings or Air America can't figure out why it's declaring bankruptcy for the 15th time, they need only look at their behavior throughout the development of this story.

I doubt that anyone thought he actually loved this woman, but they are all wanting to knw what happened and when. And is there anything more laughable than trying to justify an affair, cheating on your cancer stricken wife no less, with the excuse of "Yeah, I slept with her...but I didn't love her"?

It sounds like John is slowly giving a little truth along with more lies. He had an affair, but didn't love her and the kid is not his, but he is visiting the woman he didn't love and the child he didn't make at 2 in the morning on the other side of the country. This is going to be a painful drawn out journey to the full truth.

How bad must the MSM feel when they know that the National Enquirer got another scoop on them?

Between all the jokes, giggles, and thanks to NE, let's take a moment to sympathize with the children and innocent family members involved. As much as we're glad to see Edwards lose his political career, no one is happy to see it happen like this.

It's too easy. But I hope there's gambling action on how the paternity test goes, because I'm thinking he's the daddy despite the denials and it would be fun to see how many others are willing to risk money agreeing.

And I'll say it again: I really miss Spitzer's whore (the good looks part, not her horrid "music"). If all these Democrats refuse to keep it in their pants, can't they at least agree to make their scandals more visually entertaining??

The greatest single danger for the MSM with regard to this controversy at this point in time is:

• they've been widely perceived as "in the tank" for the Dems on both Obama, and the Edwards affair;
• now that they've been proven wrong about one thing, it can't help but sew some seeds of doubt about how they continue to treat the other, which;
• adds to the impression that the MSM might be covering up the truth about some of the unsavoury stories about Obama that have circulated around the internet and blogosphere as well.

That is the greatest danger for the MSM on this, that is, unless the Maverick and his posse completely screw the pooch on this.

I am delighted to be eating a bit of crow here today over this -- I had adamantly been saying for months now that this story would never break, though I am taking some consolation in noting that it was Edwards himself who broke it rather than the media outlets running rampant with it.

Someone obviously offered him a payoff/reward of some sort to come clean here since his political career as we know it is effectively over. The DNC almost assuredly got wise to the fact that speculation over the issue or even an outright scandal would overshadow their convention and the Obama spotlight, and gave him an ultimatum or offer he couldn't refuse. It is also telling that this is breaking over the end of the same news cycle where giddy reports about the re-emergence of the Clintons has been running rampant: The two are most likely linked in some manner and in my opinion Edwards is playing for time in some way we aren't seeing yet with this confession stunt. The story ain't over yet, though his career as it was is, and for now that will do quite nicely.

Sarcasm aside: Is there any reason to believe this?  Why on God's green earth would Edwards have been at that hotel in the middle of the night, visiting a woman with whom he had not been involved for about two years or so, whom Edwards' friend Young claims to be her baby's father and not Edwards, who had check into the hotel with yet another friend of Edwards'?  Of course Edwards is not the baby's father.

And you know what?  Edwards really is just about the Democrats' cream of the crop.  The depths of the depravity of this man, I believe, stands to reform by comparison the character of Bill Clinton.  Bill and Monica ain't got nothing on the Breck Girl.

If Edwards is persona non grata at the convention because of this peccadillo then why is Slick Willie still slated to give a speech? Is there a Statue of Limitations on tawdry affairs?

Actually, the Dems might find it quite uncomfortable if the Edwards affair gets worse right before the convention and Bill the Philanderer is given prime time.

As for McCain and Cindy -- yes, they had an adulterous affair -- and ended up happily married  for close to 30 years. Quite the difference from "But I didn't love her."

although the msm holding back the story is. You guys are right, if this was Rudy Guiliani or Fred Thompson, they would have been right on top of it. It is censorship, plain and simple.

Unless the politician is hypocrite that throws stones on people who cheat or people that see prostitutes, I could care less what people do in their own time.
