I hope you like it, it's been a work in progress for the past few months.
A few of the new NB's features:
- New look and logo. I went for a cleaner, more open layout that features more whitespace.
- Expandable to your browser width. The bigger your screen, the wider the articles display, and yet it's still fits within smaller resolutions.
- Printer-friendly and email to friend links at the top of every article.
- Easy access to a blogger's archives at the top of every post.
- A new headline box at the top of the page.
- Links for related stories at the bottom of every blog post.
- Handy search box that should decrease the amount of time it takes to find what you're looking for.

I agree. I really like
July 7, 2008 - 09:11 ET by Cureboy675I agree. I really like the new layout. The font also does seem a little too big for my liking. But I'm sure I'll eventually get used to it.
Looks good to me as well,
July 7, 2008 - 09:45 ET by taterLooks good to me as well, except the font could be the next size smaller. But that's just a minor complaint.

Font size
July 7, 2008 - 11:14 ET by Matthew Sheffieldon NB 4.0 is actually determined by the user. We just use whatever font you have set in your browser preferences.
If you think it's too big, adjust your default font preferences. The goal is to not tinker with people's font choices.
Im gonna have to see it on
July 7, 2008 - 09:14 ET by Dan The Man 2Im gonna have to see it on my 24" at home to really tell, Im also gonna pull it up on my Iphone.

Nice look - nothing overly
July 7, 2008 - 09:23 ET by HermanoNice look - nothing overly different so the feel is still there. I like the ability to expand it to the browser width - this should make it easier to read some of the really long threads which get down to one work per line at times.
Just Another Manic Monday
July 7, 2008 - 09:27 ET by GothampcDang, did you have to roll it out on a Monday after a long holiday weekend? Some of us can't take that much stimulation on a Monday morning.
My one comment is that I think it is (still) difficult to access the Log in/ Log out buttons. I think they should be more easily accessible.

Rogues Gallery Under Header
July 7, 2008 - 09:42 ET by CaringwhiteguyMatthew-I hope we won't always see BHO, Rev. Wright and Algore pics under the header. Poor Jim Pinkerton looks sooooo out of place.
Good stuff
July 7, 2008 - 10:02 ET by zachlindI like the new design. You do good stuff and the font is fine just like it is. Thanks again for an extremely important and valuable website, one I could not do without, everyday.
Excellent!
July 7, 2008 - 10:08 ET by Rush FanI like it very much, especially the larger font size. Those of us, such as myself, who are old (correction older) and retired appreciate larger font. Much easier on the old (correction older) eyes. The headline box and the blogger links are superb. Overall , it has a much cleaner look. Thank you.

Aw, heck! You're preaching to the choir - I'd read NB in plain text, if necessary!!!

Well Done
July 7, 2008 - 10:14 ET by Dr_LibertyAlthough I like my steaks rare, I like my NB's well done. And it is!
I really like the header with the three featured stories (including pictures).
My only suggestion is that the color of the "post comment" box is a really ugly green taking me back to my 1970s days. Was green chosen as a way of luring in environmentalists or muppet frogs?

Only One Complaint
July 7, 2008 - 10:15 ET by Del DolemonteAny way to make the site load faster for us poor souls on dialup? You have so many bells, whistles, graphics, ads, etc that the home page takes forever to open!
Hey Matt
July 7, 2008 - 10:24 ET by DelsaJust got here. Looks and feels greatt. I am testing out a new wireless keybard for my laptop. Got it from a client of mine.
I digress. Reallly like it so far. Now I am going to look around.
So far so good for both of our new toys.
Sugestion for anyone wit dial-up.....GET DSL
I have mine through our phone ccompany and it is much cheeaper than cable companies and all that. Plus, here in florida when the storms come and the electricity goes down, with the generator running I still have internet.
Site look
July 7, 2008 - 10:28 ET by MrltavernHey I was surprised when I went to check the site this morning. It looks great. The site keeps getting better and better.

For the color of the post or read buttons
July 7, 2008 - 10:28 ET by DelsaUsse the same color blue you use for the REVIEW and POST COMMENT buttonS.
I like that color best
Agreed
July 7, 2008 - 10:36 ET by Dr_LibertyI don't like cool lime green.

Beauty
July 7, 2008 - 10:40 ET by JoelCTThe new site is almost as good-looking as the babes in the Conservative T-Shirts ads!
It works very well for me. I think most of us were tired of the thin read-space. With a 22" flat panel, it was only about 1/4th of the screen, and seemed like too much wasted space.
Thanks, Matt, on a job well done.
I like the new look. But
July 7, 2008 - 10:43 ET by motherbeltI like the new look.
But why is the font in the comments and the on the sidebar larger and different than what's in the blogposts?
At least that's how it shows on my computer....

It's still odd in Apple
July 7, 2008 - 11:09 ET by Jack BauerIt's still odd in Apple Safari... Home page sits in the middle of the screen, with an inch and a half clearance to monitor either side...
But clicking on a story, it fills over the screen, with horizontal scroll bars.
Jack looks about the same
July 7, 2008 - 12:25 ET by Dan The Man 2Jack looks about the same on my Iphone which uses Safari. One good thing is the enable rich text is able to toggle on my IE browser.
Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.
overall, looks good
July 7, 2008 - 11:16 ET by SouthJersey1953It appears that the 'blog' side is about 60% of width and the 'ad' or 'index' side is 40%. Might be better if the 'blog' side was 75% and the right side (where the ads/links/etc. are) was only 25% (or maybe even a 70/30 split.

adjust margins on home page
July 7, 2008 - 11:27 ET by FAQsI think the margins of your home page are too wide for my 1024 x 768 pixel monitor. The articles look too narrow and the gray margins could be reduced.

Looks Good, One Comment...
July 7, 2008 - 13:38 ET by Wildcatter1980I can do without the Newsbusted video on each page. A link to the video on each page would be OK, but it comes across to me as overkill to have it as it currently is on each nb.org page.
Like It
July 7, 2008 - 14:10 ET by geoff.galeI like it. I feel like I'm finally getting the value out of that expensive 24" flat screen that I popped for when I built this new computer. Looks more modern and accessible.
