You've heard of Bush Derangement Syndrome, now it seems as though McCain Derangement Syndrome is starting to appear.
As you might expect, the first outbreak was on MSNBC where liberal commentator and screenwriter John Ridley wondered whether McCain's coincidental presence in Colombia during the recent daring hostage rescue was really a publicity ploy:
"We know that John McCain was down there fortuitously. We know that someone on his staff who was a lobbyist for Colombia. Transcript excerpt from the July 3 edition of "Morning Joe:"
JOHN RIDLEY: So McCain just decided he wanted to be in Colombia -- very fortuitous on this day that this amazing, amazing rescue happened. Even his own handlers don't exactly know why he wants to go.
PAT BUCHANAN: Suppose those guys had gone in there and the rebels had suspected something and they shot them up and killed a number of hostages and it was a bloody mess and McCain would have been blamed for it. He couldn't have known it was going to succeed.
RIDLEY: Unless they knew that it was not going to be a failure. That's all I'm saying.
BUCHANAN: You're implying that they bought off the rebels?
RIDLEY: All I'm saying is that we see what happens in Iraq, that we're not going to negotiate with terrorists, that we're not going to negotiate with these kidnappers, and then for some reason they're released. I want to make very clear, these people come home, these individuals been kidnapped, I couldn't be happier. However they get home. But we know that back channel negotiations and things happen. We know that John McCain was down there fortuitously. We know that someone on his staff who was a lobbyist for Colombia. It just seems all very convenient right before the Fourth of July.
Yes, that's it exactly. Because we all know that John McCain was borrowing Karl Rove's mind reader machine and he discovered the operation would be successful because of course being there if the rescue screws up would've been marvelous publicity.

I really can't figure out why he's on any talk show as a pundit, beacuse of his lack of credentials. He's extremely cynical, and ultra-liberal.

...when FARC's #2, Raul Reyes was killed in a crossborder raid by Columbian special forces in Equador on March 1,2008, tell me why Obama's name is even in this story. Look Ridley (or anyone who buy's the BS of Obama) you can say whatever the hell you want & deny anything & everything the way you guys always do. But when the info come DIRECTLY FROM THE LAPTOPS from the top of FARC (or any other terror group) you got some explaining to do. I beleive that the info on those laptops were used for this rescue mission, it's hard to think otherwise. You may not need to really defend this since the MSM is so in the tank for this empty suit that stories like this may not matter.
But it is stories like this raid that freed several Americans & the former Columbian Presidential candidate Ingrid Betencourt(6 years)will draw unwanted light to Obama's connections/political activities. One story that should see more unwanted light is this story...

...I don't think Obama is qualified to be President on the merits, but he may not actually meet the constitutional requirements as well. July 4, 2008 - 16:21 ET by allamericangirlI thought someone on Morning Joe mentioned that while McCain was on his visit the President of Columbia or some high official had briefed McCain on their plans to free the hostages. That would instantly make Mr. Ridley upset because it flies in the face of the liberal idea they are pushing that every leader in the world hates Bush/McCain and all are yearning for Obama to be president so there can be peace. They don't want people to think a leader of another country would trust and confide in McCain.
Another reason is because they had already started painting McCain as insensitive and uncaring for going to Colombia when people are struggling here at home. This distracts from that image.
This is just the same song with a different tune if it's about McCain it's all bad if it's about Obama it is all wonderful.
