Another day and another Marine acquitted of charges from the so-called "Haditha massacre" that left-leaning journalists (doing the bidding of Democrat Jack Murtha) insisted actually happened.
Bob Owens has the story you won't be seeing on tonight's ABCNNBCBSMSNBC shows:
A military jury has acquitted 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson of all charges that he helped cover up the killing of 24 Iraqis in Haditha following the IED ambush of a Marine patrol.
Grayson, a Marine intelligence officer, had been accused of having a military photographer erase digital photos of the dead Iraqis. Grayson had turned down a plea deal to face charges on five counts that could have led to a maximum of 20 years in prison. An obstruction-of-justice charge against Grayson had been dismissed by the judge earlier in the week. [...]
The November 19, 2005 killings of 24 Iraqi civilians was once a key talking point for anti-war activists and politicians, who likened the event to a modern day My Lai.
The original Marine account issued the next day claimed that 15 civilians had been killed by an enemy improvised explosive device (IED) that also killed Marine Lance Corporal Miguel Terrazas, and that eight insurgents were killed in the ensuing firefight. Exactly four months after events took place, Time Magazine posted an article Collateral Damage or Civilian Massacre in Haditha? which claimed, based upon interviews with locals, that the 24 civilian dead were the result of Marines “who went on a rampage” after Terrazas was killed.

Haditha
June 5, 2008 - 12:42 ET by merlin61This announcement was on the very last page

is only front page news when incidents occur
making the US look bad. MSM traitors.
Not Newsworthy

Still no response......nor is any expected.

Go to Hell Col. Murtha. Oh how I wish they could and would strip that title from you. You are an arrogant SOB. You are as bigger a disgrace to the United States Marine Corps as Lee Harvey Oswald. Because you sir and I use that lightly, are a man, again lightly, that is in a position of responsibility. That responsibility sir is to those young Marines long before it is to be afforded your corrupt party, and it's weak leadership (again, used lightly). You had an opportunity and responsibility to those Marines to keep your powder dry. But because of corruption and a sinful lust for power, you threw those young men under the bus for your own ambitions. That is not worthy of the little Marine sir. You know it. I know it. And every Marine, and I mean real Marine, not your kind of Marine, knows it.
How do you sleep at night you filthy bastard? How will you help these young men get their lives and careers back? Tell them what window to go to to pick up their reputation that you stomped all over for your own personal glory, fame and power. I am embarrassed that you ever wore the same uniform that I did.
God speed Lt. Grayson. Semper Fi.

June 5, 2008 - 14:05 ET by ricklailNot having been in the Corps, I never understood the comradery (?) among Marines. Now living here in the shadow of Cherry Point, being close to many Marines from Lejeune and having a son in law at Corry Station, I am starting to understand.
I was rooting for those Marines. I hope and pray that all charges are dropped on the Col and the Sgt. Then the whole group should go to Washington and make Murthta apologize to each one of them. Their trip should be sanctioned by the Commandant.

Murtha and the MSM made them guilty before proven innocent
June 5, 2008 - 14:53 ET by TruthMongerit's almost impossible to believe Murtha was ever a Marine
I don't think I have what it takes to be a soldier
but I think I got Murtha beat pretty good
Clarification.
June 5, 2008 - 17:33 ET by harqmanDon't be so hard on yourself. You may have what it takes to be a soldier. You may not have what it takes to be a Marine. But they are Few and they are Proud.
Now before anyone blows a gasket. There is a difference. Soldiers are in the Army. Marines are Marines. They are not soldiers. Soldiers in their heart wish they could be Marines. And let's be honest, why wouldn't they? To say Marines are better might sound harsh. But sometimes the truth is harsh.
Read the Marine Hymn. Who is guarding the streets of heaven? Soldiers? I think not. I'm just saying be careful when using the words interchangeably. They aren't. It reminds soldiers of what they could have......well never mind that is why they are solders, not Marines.
All that to say this. There is not an soldier on this list that did not expect to see this response. And to you all, I love you my brothers and sisters in arms. God bless you and thank you.

The false accusers and the
June 5, 2008 - 13:15 ET by mattmThe false accusers and the slanderers should be sued.
Remember....
June 5, 2008 - 13:32 ET by harqmanRemember this. If the accusations were made with malice and intent to cause harm to these Marines then go get them. If the accusations were made on sight by people freaked out by what happened then they needed to be investigated. That is the Marine Corps way. I will never say that the accusations should not have been investigated. I am not saying you said that either. Just making a separate point. But those who jumped on the band wagon, Murtha and the Democratic Party, MSM the Keith Olbermann types, need to be equally investigated. And if found to be guilty punished accordingly. The charge of treason in this case might want to be looked at. If there are those in the Democratic party that want Bush and Cheney charged with treason, then Murtha might want to be looked at. And if found guilty..............................
It is not oly being sued. Murtha's life should be ruined. Every single aspect of his life should be destroyed. Not his family. Just his. Throw him out of office. Strip him of any pension to include that from the Marine Corps. And have him pay back every penny he has been paid by the taxpayers of this country from the first day he opened his filthy pie hole to comment on Haditha. The we can send him to Iraq.
There is no punishment to fit this behavior.
I agree with the idea expressed in your posts,
June 5, 2008 - 14:10 ET by DEVILDOCMOMexcept the one regarding sending him to Iraq. Too many honorable men and women have served, were injured, and died there to soil their memory with this %$#&* man being sent there. I am sure we could come up with some better place for him to be sent in this life, we all know where he will be in the next.
cleaning latrines at Guantanamo
June 5, 2008 - 15:35 ET by wizardjrI'd love to see him spend a four year tour of Guantanamo cleaning latrines and taking sh!! from the towelheads, literally and figuratively. After all, he loves the towelheads so much he was willing to falsely accuse US Marines of a massacre without so much as a bit of evidence that I am sure he'd love to clean up after them. Maybe even wipe their bottoms for them. And wash their feet for prayers. Etc., etc.

Punishment
June 5, 2008 - 15:29 ET by Bacchus"The[n] we can send him to Iraq."
Dang-it, Iraq is safe now, but maybe it's apropos to set Murtha loose in Washington, D.C., to fend for himself:
haha.
I agree
June 5, 2008 - 13:59 ET by MindwerkzI have thought for some time that an easy way to get people to remember what
is and is not allowed is to actually punish them for it. Who can
honestly say that many separate people and groups have not committed open treason?
I think a good first step would be to prosecute and then behead Clinton for china gate,
then move on to the NYT and so forth until people realize that releasing
national secrets, top secret documents, nuclear technology, and aiding the
enemy are capital offences punishable by death.
Sure I’m a conservative, but I’m sick of playing nice while morons smear my
country with lies with absolutely zero accountability. Murtha should be
brought up on charges of conduct unbecoming, which is perfectly legal under the
manual for courts martial, and stripped of his rank and dishonorably
discharged. There’s freedom of speech, and I’m ok with that, but that was
intended for political speech, and not only that, for dissent, not slander or
treason.
Slow down
June 5, 2008 - 15:34 ET by harqmanFirst off we do not behead. Firing squad is the punishment. Less messy. More humane. I am all for following the rules as they are set up. So if we could do it, it would have to be done by the rules.
Second, this has nothing to do with being a conservative. There are liberals screaming for Bush and Cheney to be tried for War Crimes and treason. I say go for it and let the chips fall where they may. That includes the NYTs, Murtha et al going down. With the likes of Keith Olbermann as well. Aiding and abetting.
As for Murtha and a Courts Martial. If he has resigned his commission and that resignation has been accepted then there may be no formal way to get him through the UCMJ. However Federal Law provides the avenue.
Yes there is freedom of speech. But you can not convict people in public with the microphone provided by the Taxpayers is an abuse of the public trust. Abuse of his office. Abuse of federal resources and so and so on.
What is so absolutely distressing is that he wore the uniform of the United States Marine Corps. He earned the right and might I add Honor to be called a Marine. And then for his own ambition and lust for power, he defamed that very Corps. What he needs is a good old fashion blanket party. I really hate Murtha. And I mean personally hate him.
Wouldn't it be great
June 5, 2008 - 13:40 ET by harqmanWouldn't it be great if Lt. Grayson, who I would think should be promoted to Capt (time in grade and all that) (with back pay), was sent to Law school to become part of JAG. Ya know a JAG officer that has actually been in the system. Clearly he has the integrity and bearing of an officer of Marines. That would seem to be he kind of Marine you would want both defending and prosecuting.
Probably too much to ask for though.
We all knew this was going
June 5, 2008 - 14:24 ET by oldArmyWe all knew this was going to be the outcome. Another attempt to degrade our Soldiers/Marines.
We have THE most professional military on the planet. Mistakes happen sure.....when death and danger surround you 360*. How would you react. Personally.....I think anyone that has issues with how our troops conduct themselves in a place where anyone could have a bomb strapped to them and/or fire at our soldiers within crowds of civilians. Should pick-up a weapon and follow me. After I help them change their pants a few times....maybe they'll get the picture.
As for Murtha.....lol...just as useless as Kerry. IMHO

Murtha's website
June 5, 2008 - 14:39 ET by ricklailI just checked over at Murtha's website under press releases and guess what-there is not apology to the Marines. Under his contact, he only allows PA residents to send e-mail. How about all you good folks from the Keystone state get busy and flood him with e-mails demanding an apology.
I did send an e-mail to Walter Jones telling him he needs to walk over to Murtha's office and demand an apology. Jones brags about being so pro-military I though he would want to take up for the Marines. He has several Marine Corps installations, Cherry Point, Camp Lejuene, New River, in this district.

Jack Murtha vs Jack Lucas
June 5, 2008 - 19:33 ET by harqmanToday in my home town Jack Lucas passed away. He was the youngest man to receive the Medal of Honor in the modern era. At 17 years of age he dove on a grenade on the sands on Iwo Jima. The volcanic sand took some of the sting out of the grenade. After 26 operations he was awarded the CMH at the age of 17. He then went home to finish 9th grade. He was a Marine to the end. I never met him. I am sad that I didn't. Because I should have.
God speed sir. Thank you for being an inspiration. Thank you for holding the Honor of the United States Marine Corps high and exemplifying all that is great about our country no matter what others may say.
