What is it with liberal pundits and taxes? MSNBC blowhard Keith Olbermann has become the latest liberal political figure to get in trouble for failing to pay his government dues, our friends at Olbermann Watch report:
Olbermann also had some troubles California where he was held in judgment for failing to pay the state over $77,000 in back taxes.New York State has issued a tax warrant against Keith Olbermann for failure to pay taxes on his humbly named personal corporation, Olbermann Broadcasting Empire, Inc. Olbermann is listed in legal records as the President of Olbermann Broadcasting Empire, Inc.
A call to the Albany County Clerk's Office in upstate New York confirmed that the warrant is still outstanding and that Olbermann has still failed to pay his back taxes. State records show that Olbermann's company failed to pay $2,269.50 in state taxes. A judgement was entered against Olbermann last summer (Docket Date: 8/21/2007), just weeks before Olbermann closed on a a luxurious $4.2 mm condo at Trump Palace, at 200 East 69th Street.

Great comedy
May 31, 2008 - 14:51 ET by Miket53You've got to admit it is great comedy when these guys get caught. Even better that the liberal media shows their colors by never posting such stories on their sites and news stations.

O.B.E...
June 1, 2008 - 21:00 ET by danybhoyI always thought the initials O-B-E stood for Order of the British Empire, which is an honor bestowed upon people by the Queen. So the name of his little buisiness ain't even completely origional, much in the same way his show content ain't completely origional. If there were no Media Matters, Kos, Air America, NYT, or Move-On, he would be back in Bristol, CT & hosting SportsCenter at ESPN.
This guy really is a cult of personality, & this story shows us what he thinks about himself. He is a classic liberal who feels the rules don't apply to himself. This is too funny.

Taxes
May 31, 2008 - 17:18 ET by jaywlYeah, yeah, all these liberals in trouble for not paying taxes. A pox on you! Everybody knows these people entrust their money, finances if you will, to rightwing, conservative planners, advisers, or large accounting firms. No liberal in his right mind (is that an oxymoron ?) is going to trust his financial future to someone who believes he should pay proportionally extra taxes if he becomes successful or believes his work should support those that just made the wrong decisions along the road. I mean, they're nuts but not that nuts! So if these liberals get in trouble for not paying their taxes, just remember some conservative Republican is at fault, as usual!

It's hilarious how the left
May 31, 2008 - 19:36 ET by ThatDudeIt's hilarious how the left keep saying we need to tax the rich more heavily, yet so many rich on the left either don't pay up or find ways to bypass much of their taxes. This just goes down as more proof that they are all for taking and spending other people's money. Whenever trouble comes you're way, play the victim. If you can't pose as the victim, find one you can parade around.
Do as I say, not as I do.
Tax Burdon
May 31, 2008 - 23:13 ET by redherkeyI finally understand how liberals arrive at the conclusion that we're not taxed enough. Hell, if you're not paying your own taxes, you probably feel like the tax burdon is pretty damn light.
We were shocked last year having the first year of good income following five years of absolute sacrifice, reinvestment in careers and simply doing without. Having a pile of debts to pay with one year of earnings, we were hit more than a trust-fund kiddie would be. Five years of debts to pay are irrelevant - one year of earnings = the new rich.
Meanwhile, much of Hollywood, the mainstream media, trustfund elites and our political class benefit from exemptions. From municipal bonds to tax rackets that exempt income through 501C3s like Obama's church minister, they have no clue what the full impact of the tax system feels like.
Obama... you're right about one thing: change. Those of us who produce for this nation aren't going to pay the way of the parasites any longer.

Well, since O'Reilly
May 31, 2008 - 18:06 ET by JerWell, since O'Reilly explicitly accused Clinton of orchestrating three straight audits of his federal tax returns, I guess Olbermann can try to pin this on Bush.
I would think that the California and New York departments of revenue would be infested with lefties, however.
