Clinton Criticizes Olbermann for 'Pimping' Petraeus Remark

MSNBC just can't catch a break.

After NewsBusters created a media firestorm by exposing reporter David Shuster for his remarks that Hillary Clinton was "pimping" out her daughter, the network is again finding itself in hot water as former president Bill Clinton condemned host Keith Olbermann for saying that President Bush had engaged in "pimping General David Petraeus."

Clinton condemned the comment during an interview with a Washington DC radio host (see Tim Graham's earlier post on rest of interview) in which he was asked about Olbermann's remark in the context of the Shuster kerfuffle.

"I wouldn't use disrespectful language referring to General Petraeus or anybody else," Clinton said.

When asked how the Bush White House should have responded to Olbermann's insult, Clinton said that they could rightly have taken offense at Olbermann:

"I think it would have been appropriate for him [Bush] to say that he strongly objected to that kind of language and that General Petraeus, whether you agree with his policies or not, has served this country with honor and should not be discussed in a disrespectful way."

Now that Clinton has denounced his remarks, will the Clinton-worshipping Olbermann come out an apologize on his own behalf the same way he did for Shuster?

Always good to see that NOBODY, even the far left Clintons can stand this puke traitor.

Terrorists want change too

Isn't it funny?

Isn't funny how the Oddball segment of Countdown is the only part of Olbermann's show that isn't boring? Oh, well. Lol.

I doubt it, as Bill just doesn't quite instill the same level of fear (sheer terror?) as does Hillary.

Good work Matthew

The chickens have come home to roost for Heir Olbermann and MSNBC.  Their shameless and dehumanizing politicizing of the news profession is finally drawing the attention of main-street America (now that they have turned their Leftist guns inward).

I suspect the Clinton campaign has finally realized that Obama has the wacko Left vote all wrapped up, so their only chance is to make a grab at the all-but-discarded middle Left vote - much of which is embarrassed by the behavior of their hate driven comrades.  The MSM has been leading the chants of Bill worship for so long that they have no choice but to give his criticisms at least some credibility (as compared to the MSMs long time critics on the Right).

If the Clintons play this moderate/far-Left split successfully it could benefit the Right by putting the lie to Obama's unity claims and boxing him into a McGovern type identity (which also happens to an accurate caricature).

People could start asking, "If Obama is really a unity politician, then why is the core of his support the same people who make up the core of the hate mongering Left?"

We all know who I'm talking about: people like Shuster and Olbi at MSNBC, and groups like Moveon and Daily Kos (and the entire university Left) who prefer slander and propaganda to reporting or civil discourse - even when discussing the most respected members of our society.

The Clintons are brilliant

I had concluded that Billary would resort to slamming homosexuals in their dive to loose this election as it never occurred to me that the one thing they could do to really drive voters away from them was to start pounding the rabid Kos talking heads and complimenting FOX for being fair.

It is absolutely brilliant in attacking the people the internuts follow in firing them up and then complimenting FOX which drives people like Jeff Rense bonkers.

What a brilliant way to loose an election finally as Obama needed so much help in winning it. At least Billary can content themselves it took 2 months before the rats felt safe enough to jump their ship out of fear of being shot by Hillary and Bill and the rest of the masses were so conditioned it took 2 months before most of the bots were pushed to pull the lever for Obama.

Those Democrats are really polar opposites of Republicans. Republicans you can't get them to pull the lever for McCain no matter what........and Democrats can't stop pulling the Clinton lever.

caught in their own little PC loop

liberal buffoonery on display.

Politicians pimp for votes. Olbermann pimps for viewers. Hollywood pimps for Democrats/Third World Dictators. Bill Clinton pimps himself.

With all this pimping going on, you got to call it something.

Is there an acceptable word for "whoring out" in the political correctness lexicon?

Well, gee, Bill, why didn't

"I wouldn't use disrespectful language referring to General Petraeus or anybody else," Clinton said.

Well, gee, Bill, then why didn't you say so AT THE TIME?????

Your wife was certainly outspoken, and pretty much called him a liar. Was that "disrespectful"?

What about James Carville?

When are the Clinton's going to demand similar condemnation and apologies from their "unpaid" campaign advisor, James Carville from his sexist remarks?

"Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find." James Carville (on Paula Jones sexual harassment allegation against Bill Clinton)

You gotta get it right,

You gotta get it right, BSM.....when Carville says it, it's a hunnadolla  bill.......

Oh please

Olbermann made that comment awhile ago, Hillary - where were you when it was actually news?

As for your assertion that you wouldn't use disrespectful language about the General or anybody else, does the phrase "willing suspension of disbelief" ring a bell? You called the General a liar on the record.

Or, just off the top of my head, back in 2005 when you implied that the POTUS was Alfred E. Neuman? Was that a respectful comment?

Clinton panders, only this and nothing more.

That was Bill, not Hillary,

That was Bill, not Hillary, saying it was disrespectful...and no, he didn't say it at the time. Which is why I brought up his wife's comment about Gen. Petraeus not being credible.

That's fair.

I don't generally draw any distinction between the two of them since they seem to be a sort of tag team.

What did Obama say? Something about how he's sometimes not sure who he's running against?

What a surprise

What a surprise

Keith PIMPING for MSNBC?
