January 30, 2008 - 09:05 ET by WildBillWhen do we start seeing the news reports harping that McCain is winning because he stand for the war effort against terrorism? I mean his forte is defense, and he has been arguably the staunchest Senator in his support for "Bush's war." I would laugh, but then flinch at the thought of lib RINO getting closer to a nomination nod.

As for Rudy, I started this process thinking he was the one, with Romney in a close second. That Rudy would endorse McCain makes me question my own sanity. And his!
Calling at 55% is like....
January 29, 2008 - 22:35 ET by NavyBuckeyeis like watching the Super Bowl and the channel declares the team up at 14:45 in the 3rd quarter the winner. Didn't the media learn from the Presidential election four years ago.
On a side note, I really hope the panhandle pulls it out. I really thought the Thompson supporters(such as myself) would rally for Romney. I believe once Rudy pulls out Romney will gain so much more momentum. If not then it is evident that our country is overrun by a bunch of soft bellied pansy middle left liberals who only claim to be Conservative.
If everyone that claimed to be victim on a daily baisis donated a dollar to the ending of the deficit, it would be irradicated rather quickly.
Hypothetical question:
January 29, 2008 - 22:36 ET by R D HelmIf Rudy and Huckabee were not on the ballot, who would be winning this?
I'm guessing Romney.

You think? I'm not sure.
January 29, 2008 - 22:47 ET by Chris NormanYou think? I'm not sure. McCain and Rudy do have some things in common - it's just that Rudy didn't seem to revel in being a maverick like McCain. So, maybe Rudy's fiscally conservative/socially liberal voters go to McCain now. Huckabee is probably drawing votes of people who would never vote for a Mormon. Could Florida's large Hispanic population have something to do with McCain's victory there? Haven't seen any results - just asking.
Chris,
January 29, 2008 - 22:57 ET by R D HelmI heard somewhere that a huge percentage of the Hispanics there are of Cuban ancestry. I have always thought them to be more conservative than Hispanics coming from other areas. I know they were big Reagan supporters in the '80s. Of course, this could be a "what have you done for me lately?" kind of thing, too.
I could be wrong, but I cannot believe all of them would vote for McCain. Same for Huckabee supporters, as he is getting a lot of support from the Fair Tax crowd. After Huck practically body-slammed McCain in the debate the other night on the subject, I don't see many of them voting for McCain.
At least I would like to think they wouldn't.

I'm just thinking that
