wow...
November 6, 2007 - 07:20 ET by sarcasmoI'm not sure how conservative Mormon viewers will feel about the joke referencing Romney & the Democrats! (I happen to know that not all conservative Mormons support Mitt.) But I'll have to say, the steroid-jab on Aaahnold was pretty funny (and dead-on true!). If Carville & Matalin don't prove it's really all one big-government party, he and Maria certainly should...

How about some jokes about "Christian" Ken shooting abortion doctors, too:)?

November 6, 2007 - 10:44 ET by MightyMouthTM, why do you continue to defend a religopolitical (new word) system that makes women subserviant to men. And I am not talking about husband and wife relationships. It just seems so un-american.

I'll ask a devout Muslim
November 6, 2007 - 13:12 ET by TruthMongerI'll ask a devout Muslim friend of mine here - he's an IT professional - but I'm not quite sure how often he stones his wife - just let me find out please and I'll get back to ya:)...
They're both Americans and strongly disapprove of OBL and company, they find terrorism quite evil, and embarassing, and they probably suffer some discrimination from it quite a bit...
I'll ask em about the Ken and Barbie joke too - see if they think it's funny, and helpful at all to their situation...
And I'm very, very sorry if you think I'm defending evil people by doing all of this...please accept my apologies...I appreciate your patience...

.I appreciate your patience...
November 6, 2007 - 13:41 ET by MightyMouthThank you. But I already know you are not defending evil people. :- )
I think you are defending a flawed world view WRT to being a muslim in America. The two systems don't mesh well.
One of two things is going to happen: either America is going to be more "muslimized" or the muslims here are going to become more "Americanized" (assimilate). One thing is certain... it's going to be interesting to watch.

I know I know.
That's why I counter my weekend drinking with an aggressive, daily workout regimin.
Michelob ultra? Good God no! If I'm going with cheap beer I only drink Budweiser.
If I'm lacing it out a bit, I prefer Belgian style ales. My favorite in recent days is La Fin Du Monde from Canada. Love strong beer.
Try this Leon
November 6, 2007 - 11:04 ET by JimboIf you like strong Canadian Beers, try Trois Pistoles. It'll knock your socks off. Drink enough of them, and it may literally do just that.

November 6, 2007 - 13:05 ET by LeonJimbo,
That beer is delicious AND strong.
In fact, it's made by the same company that makes La Fin Du Monde.
If I could afford to spend $8 - $10 a beer at the bar, I'd exclusively drink this strong stuff. It just gets a bit too expensive for me to do regularly.
Ever try De Ranke XX Bitter
November 6, 2007 - 11:11 ET by JasonCEver try De Ranke XX Bitter or Guldenburgh? All the best ales are European, no doubt. Though here in the states Allagash and Ommegang are starting to catch up.
I go for Coors when it's time to drink the cheap stuff.

Whitbred's Best Bitter is
November 6, 2007 - 11:41 ET by Hero SquadWhitbred's Best Bitter is the finest brew I've ever consumed. Sadly, it's extremely hard to find this English beer in the states. Did find it at some bar on South Street in Philly many years ago. If you see it, give it a swig.
But for domestic beer (and I know it's been said many times before here), it's gotta be a Yuengling Lager.
**My Daughter at the WWII Memorial
Hell yeah to Yuengling.
November 17, 2007 - 13:22 ET by JasonCHell yeah to Yuengling. They don't sell it round here, but I don't have to travel far to find it.
I'll keep an eye out for Whitbred's. It's not exactly microbrew anymore, but Long Trail makes a Real (ie unfiltered) IPA now that has quickly become my hoppy standby.

I've tried Guldenburgh, but
November 6, 2007 - 13:09 ET by LeonI've tried Guldenburgh, but never De Ranke. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm excited to give it a go.
Believe it or not Philly has some exquisite beer bars where you can get an amazing variety on tap.
Most notably, Monks, Eulogy, & Ludwigs.
I agree that Ommegang is on the up and up. There's just something about the Belgian trappist water that I can't get over. But for an American belgian style ale Ommegang is my favorite.
Allagash makes a Belgian
November 6, 2007 - 13:14 ET by JasonCAllagash makes a Belgian style conditioned in old bourbon casks. 12% abv, it's a madman. $20 bucks for a 750 mL bottle, but a nice treat sometimes.
Ommegang 3 Philosophers is my fave.

Jason, Three Philosphers
November 6, 2007 - 13:19 ET by LeonJason,
Three Philosphers is great. Apparently it's even better if you age it one year.
I recently got a nice little wine fridge that is stocked entirely with 750mL bottles of high quality beer.
I think for me beer is the new wine. When I have guests over, I love to pull out the wine style glasses (chalice?) and serve beer. People are often surprised but never disappointed.

November 6, 2007 - 13:07 ET by LeonJimbo,
Nothing goes better with an early morning Eagles tailgate than some nice, healthy Orange Mad Dog 20/20.
I'll still have some occassionally, but when I first started drinking back in the day, Mad Dog was our king. Cheap, easy to carry, and most importantly, easy to hide.

and if you ever want to overthrow Canada for the oil or anything - you can definitely put a military base here in Minnesota for staging attacks on our fellow Christians up north - we really don't mind if quite a few ignorant Muslims in SA insist that absolutely all Christians are Satanic and must be destroyed - you betcha - the relatively few violent radical Christians here won't complain at all:)...

November 6, 2007 - 13:58 ET by balboaLeno: Hasn't been funny in decades. Never watch the Tonight Show.
Comedy Central: There is plenty of funny here.
SNL: Tidbits of funny. Worth watching for at least one skit a week.
Letterman: He's not hilarious, but I've grown up watching him, and his sense of humor is something I appreciate.
Whoopi: Never thought she was funny.
Belzer: Ditto. Love him on L&O, though.
Franken: Glad he wrote that first book. Never thought he was a comedy genius.
Stern: HATE this guys' show. Bleeccch.
Carlin: Used to be a comedy genius.
Cho: Was funny. Now just bitter.
Colbert: Very sharp. Funny character
DeGeneres: Once she got over the whole "I'm gay, everybody!" she became funny again.
Garofalo: See "Cho."
Maher: Like snippets of his show. Better when it was on ABC.
Myers: Mike Myers? Which Myers?
Parker: Who?
Reiner: Carl or Rob?
Shandling: HiLARIOUS. Larry Sanders is one of the best shows of all time.
Williams: Has had great comedic moments, totally different kind of stand-up.
Rock: Hilarious most of the time, and with good points no one wants to hear.

It seemed a little short...
November 6, 2007 - 11:16 ET by rx4musicI liked most of the jokes, but, it went by so fast. Maybe now that the Hollywood writers are out on strike and have a little extra time on their hands, Matthew will be getting some new submissions for the $50 a joke offer...? Unfortunately, it would take an awful lot of those to make somebody's Lexus payment!
Methinks most Hollywood
November 6, 2007 - 11:44 ET by Hero SquadMethinks most Hollywood writers lack the ability to create a good joke that doesn't include "Bush is bad" or "Cheney is evil" somewhere in the punchline.
Hey, maybe I should submit that one for the $50?
