Due to a bug in Internet Explorer 7, several NB readers have had trouble getting into the site. We're working on the issue. In the mean time, I recommend you download the Mozilla Firefox web browser onto your computer as it does not have the bug.
Update 19:23. The problem should be fixed now. Please post a comment on here if you continue to have troubles with IE 7.

I concur
August 1, 2007 - 17:28 ET by LionKingI agree with Matthew. Once you use Firefox, you will probably wonder why you were worried about IE to begin with.
I recommend downloading the
August 1, 2007 - 17:28 ET by dabalI recommend downloading the Firefox web browser regardless of issues with NB.
If it doesn't work with Mozilla Firefox, you can always launch IE for those (very) few instances that require IE.
Between Firefox and Thunderbird, I've been a very happy camper. My hat is off to the open-source community.
IE add-on
August 1, 2007 - 17:33 ET by LionKingThere is an IE add-on for Firefox if you have to use IE...it just opens another TAB in firefox and uses IE within Firefox...awesome.
Way cool, LK, I'll check it
August 1, 2007 - 17:47 ET by dabalWay cool, LK, I'll check it out.
If I can do SEDs on the FedEx site within Mozilla, I'll buy you a virtual beer, so to speak.
Thanks!

August 1, 2007 - 18:26 ET by KyndIf you don't like firefox go to apple.com and download safari for windows...faster than both ie and firefox
I beg to differ
August 1, 2007 - 20:28 ET by OldSailor88I've used all three, and Firefox is far and away the better browser. Safari may be a bit faster, but the features on Firefox make it worth the speed. By the way, it's not slow at all. The add ons are cool too. Mozilla Rocks!
I was wondering if anyone
August 1, 2007 - 18:32 ET by msh1973I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble loading the pages. It seemed to only act up as I was attempting to comment. Thanks for the info.
Should be fixed soon
August 1, 2007 - 18:34 ET by Matthew SheffieldI believe the IE bug has been located. We should have a workaround in a little bit.
Is it true you located the

August 1, 2007 - 18:36 ET by bigtimerHi msh...
I for once have not had any problems here for quite awhile now...and I am on IE 7.
Hope I just didn't change my luck by even saying I had no problems...
LOL...
If I do again I most likely change to Firefox though.
Hear! Hear!..
August 1, 2007 - 20:04 ET by BigBHear! Hear!..
For some reason, after I fired up my first compewter back around 96' or so, I just clicked on the Netscape browser to get on the internet for the first time and just used it ever since...until they came out with Firefox...I don't think it's really way better than IE, it's just that it seems to work a little better. Also, I read something way back about how all the punk-assed Dork Boys out there writting viruses and other nasty things usually targeted IE because that's the browser most people used(same thing with PC/Mac)...also, Mozilla's mail program...Thunderbird..blows Outlook Express out of the water....I really like the Junk mail detection.....Plus both Firefox and Thunderbird have skins....change the look every once in awhile....The only problem I've had with Firefox is that it won't stream video a lot of the time...
Just sayin'.........
Now, this might sting just a little bit.....

August 1, 2007 - 23:14 ET by RESTLESS 1Mr. Sheffield, I have been having problems with logging in from my computer at work. I have Mozilla at home, and it is set up to automatically enter my username and password. Would this cause problems with trying to log in on another computer? We have IE at work, but not sure if it is 6 or 7. I can get to the site at work and read the articles, I just can't log in to post comments. If I reply to a comment, it says "You are not authorized to post comments", if I am not on a thread, it sort of refreshes, but I still see "login or register to post comments" under the articles.
What happens
August 1, 2007 - 23:56 ET by Matthew Sheffieldwhen you try to log in to NB?
When I am in a thread and
August 2, 2007 - 00:09 ET by RESTLESS 1When I am in a thread and try to login to reply, I get a message that says I and not authorized to post comments, If I am not in a thread, and just try to login, I still see the "login or register to post" prompts.
I think maybe there is a filter that the IT person at work may have put in. Like I said, I can read the articles, I just can't login to post comments.
Much better... Thanks for
August 2, 2007 - 00:14 ET by webdrMuch better... Thanks for the work around, better than waiting for MS to fix IE7!
Copy Problem
August 2, 2007 - 01:19 ET by stratmanSince the changeover to the new blog software, I can no longer right mouse button click and Copy or Cut highlighted text in the Comment (text input) window. I can, however click on Edit at the top of IE and choose Copy/Cut or I can use keyboard macros - Ctrl-C or Ctrl-X - to copy/cut the highlighted text.
I can still copy, cut and paste text elsewhere on NB.
One other thing, there is no "Underline" function in the new software. Boldface and Italicize are still available. I figured this was by design.
I am using IE 6.x on a WinXP sp2 fully updated machine. As I said, the issue did not appear until the software changeover.
Killing them with kindness isn't working. Time to get scrappy with the Donkeys.
Thanks for locating and
August 2, 2007 - 08:29 ET by Subsailor599Thanks for locating and exterminating the bug. Now if we can only do that with libs.
IE 7?!?
August 2, 2007 - 09:23 ET by AvatarA problem with IE 7? It NB worked great before all of the 'upgrades', and thats the fault of IE7? Firefox is fine, but I don't see a need to have 2 browsers on my computer. I might add that many of the problems attributed to IE7 also occur in IE6, again, only since the 'upgrades' have been made.
