Liberal CNN Guest Derides Santorum as a 'Homophobe'
Liberal comedian John Fugelsang has appeared for three straight days on CNN's Starting Point as a panel member. Although simply listed as a "political comedian," Fugelsang has offered some outrageous liberal commentary during his time as a CNN guest.
For instance, on Wednesday morning he cracked a joke about Rick Santorum being a "homophobe." He previously called Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R) a "rude lunatic" and ridiculed Catholics who follow their church's teaching on birth control. [Video below the break. Audio here.]
Is this the type of guest CNN host Soledad O'Brien likes to have on as a regular? Since the beginning of Starting Point on January 4, Fugelsang has appeared on the show six times including three days this week.
When the panel was discussing the Santorum campaign's sale of sweater vests on Wednesday, Fugelsang got his own dig in at the candidate. "As a comedian, I've got to say it's always inspiring seeing homophobes who have a large collection of multicolored sweater vests," he quipped.
Back in January, Fugelsang mocked Arizona's Republican governor Jan Brewer as a "rude lunatic" in light of her conflict with President Obama.
And the comedian has also waded into religious matters, too. Fugelsang is the son of an ex-nun and an ex-Franciscan brother. "I would remind anti-birth control Catholics when God said be fruitful and multiply, there were only two people. Mission accomplished," he lampooned Catholics on February 2.
He took another shot at Rick Santorum 18 days later with his own liberal Christian commentary. "And finally it's worth reminding Rick Santorum and his entire campaign that Jesus never once condemned birth control or gay people, never fought for tax cuts for the wealthiest Nazarenes, never defended torture, and never asked a leper for a co-pay."

With Soledad O'Brien hosting, it ought to be titled "CNN's Head Start."
Political "humor"

Left-wingers believe that political humor is inherently liberal.
Fitting, since liberal politics and policies are a complete and total joke.
Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.
Do they ever wonder why they lose viewers....?

Just like with MSNBC, CNN feels they have to tell millions of people that if you have certain beliefs you are not welcome at CNN.
I cannot remember a time when the media was so openly hostile to so many people.
They cannot resist telling you how much they hate you now.
They are beside themselves with contempt for anything religious, conservative or Republican.
Not very inclusive.

Never heard of the dude but alas I don't watch CNN. Thank you NB for watching for me. I quit CNN during Campbell Brown's, All Bias All Bull back in 08.

(Of course she came over from a business network, CNBC, so that could explain it.)

Perhaps. Kinda like the conservatives who are vocal about being anti-gay usually wind up coming out of the closet or have gay affairs.

Homosexuality was never proven and he never admitted it. You just smeared all of us that believe that homosexuality is deviant behavior. Prove your accusation.
Why are you so obsessed with defending homosexuality? Are you hiding something from us?

behavior and started calling it "gay" behavior, that is when the behavior became almost respectable in the eyes of many. The general public did not know about Rock Hudson until his very end. Now the young Rock Hudsons of Hollywood wear their homosexuality on their sleeves for all to see. I liked the old way better.

Anyone who is obsessive about anything likely has some type of internal turmoil. Its not a coincidence that Hitchens had a drinking problem, one of the reasons he didn't like religion was because of pressure on him to quit drinking, pressure which he probably put on himself at sometimes also. People also often blame society for moral judgments they have about themselves that they came to by themselves. I don't know any conservatives out in the public today who are particularly vocal about being anti-gay though. I know some who are accused of that.

live. If some man wants to make love to another man or some woman wants to make love to another woman, that's their business...just keep it behind closed doors because I don't want to see it or hear about it. Do you?
(I also feel the same about heterosexual sex, but unfortunately, I guess I am in the minority, as evidenced by the booming porn industry.)

Submitted by Bliggie on Wed, 03/21/2012 - 9:55pm.
That if a person finds something disgusting or wrong they are afraid of it or have a "phobia"? Does this mean Im a Jersey Shoreaphobe? And just for the record, speaking for myself and most conservatives I know, I don't give a damn about a persons sexual preference. This drummed up conflict about gays and the people who hate them is nothing more than a smoke screen to keep from talking about the fact that Liberal Democrats are destroying our country and blaming it on Republicans , and/or any and all who disagree.
I would agree with this idea.
Submitted by balboa on Wed, 03/21/2012 - 10:00pm.
I would agree with this idea. It's similar to when you criticize anyone, suddenly you're "bashing" them or are a "hater."

Just like Bill Maher and John Stewart, John Fugelsang is not a comedian.
A comedian is funny.
CNN host Soledad O'Brien is funny.

BUT if you LAUGH at them EVERY time they open their mouth and tell everyone he's a comedian so NOTHING he says should be taken seriously...THAT is the way to tick off someone like Maher.
To basically tell the world he is nothing BUT the fool he says he is, when he is in defense mode.
Clown nose on.

That's right, comedians can say anything because, well they're just comedians. Thus they make perfect fodder for news commentary programs, right?

what John Fugelsang says? He's a commedian...we don't take him seriously. Why it would be like taking what Maher said as a political fact...and since by his OWN definition he IS a commedian, then we can studiously LAUGH at all of his comments and drive on.
