CNN's Soledad O'Brien, Liberal Guest Team Up to Attack Breitbart Editor Over 'Critical Race Theory'

By Matt Hadro | March 08, 2012 | 18:01

A  A

When Breitbart.com's Joel Pollak went on CNN and connected then-law student Barack Obama to radical Harvard professor Derrick Bell, CNN guest Jay Thomas of Sirius radio began creepily asking Pollak if he was afraid of violence from black people, on Thursday morning's Starting Point.

During the chippy segment, host Soledad O'Brien fiercely defended Bell and insisted that Obama's previous support of him was a non-story. She accused Pollak of "misreading" Bell's critical race theory, even though the professor has clearly espoused radical views in his past, including writing a fictional account of how blacks would be sold to aliens as slaves. O'Brien also failed to disclose that she herself is an admitted admirer of Bell's. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

"At every point in his life when he [Obama] could have followed the path of Martin Luther King, he threw in his lot with the Jeremiah Wrights and the Derrick Bells of the world," asserted Pollak. "And it's important not just because of what Obama believes but it's important to vet the media."

Jay Thomas stepped in to bully the conservative editor. "Can I say something as a white person? What are you frightened of?" he pointedly asked.  "Are you frightened that some black people are going to do something to you?"

Then when Pollak explained his case against Obama and the media's cover-up of his support for Bell's critical race theory, Thomas again offered a non sequitur retort. "So, you want him to take it easy on the white supremist [sic] groups?" he posed.

And O'Brien herself was not happy that Pollak attacked the President. After all, she's a fan of Bell's work.

A transcript of the segment, which aired on March 8 on Newsroom at 8:09 a.m. EST, is as follows:

SOLEDAD O'BRIEN: Okay. So then let's go back to the clips that I just showed. What part of that was the bombshell? Because I missed it. I don't get it. What was a bombshell?

POLLAK: Well, the bombshell is the revelation of the relationship between Obama and Derrick Bell. Obama didn't just lead a protest –

O'BRIEN: Okay. So he's a Harvard law student and Harvard law professor, yeah?

POLLAK: That's correct. And Derrick Bell is the Jeremiah Wright of academia. He passed away last year, but during his lifetime he developed a theory called critical race theory which holds that the civil rights movement was a sham and that white supremacy is the order and it must be overthrown.

O'BRIEN: So, that is a complete misreading. I'll stop you there for a second. And then I'm going to let you continue. But that is a complete misreading of critical race theory, as you know. That's an actual theory. And you could Google it and someone would give you a good definition of it. So, that's not correct, but keep going.

POLLAK: Well, in what way is it – in what way is it a critical misreading? Can you explain to me? Do you what critical – explain to your readers what critical theory race is. Explain to your viewers.

O'BRIEN: I'm going to ask you to continue on. I'm just going to point out that that is inaccurate. Keep going. Tell me what the bombshell is. I haven't seen it –

POLLAK: Well, wait a minute. You've made a claim – you've made a claim that my characterization of critical race theory is the opposite of Martin Luther King, is inaccurate. You're telling your viewers that. But you're not telling why it is.

O'BRIEN: Critical race theory looks into the intersection of race and politics and the law – and as a legal academic who would study this and write about it, he would advance the theory about what exactly happened when the law was examined in terms of racial politics. There is no white supremacy in that. It is a theory. It's an academic theory. And as one of the leading academics at Harvard Law School, he was one of the people as part of that conversation. So that is a short definition of it.

POLLAK: I'm glad we've got you saying that on tape because that's a complete misrepresentation. Critical race theory is all about white supremacy. Critical race theory holds that civil rights laws are ineffective, that racial equality is impossible because the legal and constitutional system in America is white supremacist –

O'BRIEN: What I just said the intersection of race and politics when it comes to under the law –

POLLAK: You said white supremacy is not part of it.

O'BRIEN: I'm trying to figure out what's the bombshell. Get back on track. What's the bombshell?

(Crosstalk)

POLLAK: No, this is critical. This is critical.

O'BRIEN: It's not critical. What's the bombshell?

POLLAK: This is critical. You can't derail this, Soledad. White supremacy is the heart of critical race theory and Obama knew it.

And by the time Obama embraced him at Harvard Law School, Derrick Bell had already given a speech in Chicago just two months before that caused a sensation which was about how white supremacy was still the order of the day and that black people were fooling themselves if they thought civil rights and equality were achievable goals. He said this. And one of the people who came to his defense, by the way, was Jeremiah Wright with whom Bell had correspondence over the years. This is a connection that is very important.

O'BRIEN: So your point, you're trying to make the point that Derrick Bell was somehow a serious radical. Is that what you're trying to say, and by connecting President Obama to Derrick Bell, a Harvard law student to a Harvard law professor, the first black tenured professor at Harvard Law School, you're trying to make that connection? Is that the bombshell?

POLLAK: Don't believe me, believe Henry Louis Gates, Jr., who said that Derrick Bell had a blind spot for anti-Semitism. Don't believe me, believe one of Derrick Bell's fellow African-American colleagues at Harvard –

O'BRIEN: There are plenty of people who debated – there are plenty of people who debated that theory. There's no question about it. But if your point – if your bombshell is that Derrick Bell is a radical, is that what you're trying to say? I'm just trying to understand what the bombshell is, because I haven't seen a bombshell yet.

POLLAK: The bombshell – the bombshell is happening right here on this program where we've got a story and you're not interested in telling your viewers who Derrick Bell actually is. You want to come in and obfuscate and tell me that I don't know what critical race theory is, that white supremacy has nothing to do with it, that Barack Obama was just embracing a guy.

This is about Barack Obama's connection to a radical legal theory that he didn't just embrace when he was a student at Harvard. When he was a teacher at the University of Chicago, he forced his students to read Derrick Bell, including some of the most inflammatory readings –

O'BRIEN: A lot of law students read Derrick Bell. It's part of the – you really do not understand critical race theory, number one –

THOMAS: Can I say something as a white person? What are you frightened of?

O'BRIEN: I don't know. I don't get it.

THOMAS: Are you frightened that some black people are going to do something to you? You have a group of individuals – if you and I were black we would be madder than hell, but we're not. And so, we are white people. There are more white people than black people. And so there's a struggle that's been going on and so in a struggle you talk about a lot of things. There's anger. There's resentment.

And so, what are you frightened of? What do you think Barack Obama's going to do? Is there a secret black movement that's going to start killing white people? What are you talking about? As a white guy.

POLLAK: I'm glad that you – I'm glad you played the racism card. You've accused me of being a racist.

THOMAS: White. I've accused you of being white. It's all I've accused you of.

POLLAK: No, you've accused me of being afraid of black people. And it doesn't even deserve a response. But let me respond anyway.

THOMAS: Sure.

POLLAK: No, I'm not afraid that black people are going to be violent and take over the country. What I'm pointing out is that there's a pattern in Barack Obama's associations with Derrick Bell, with Reverend Wright, and it carries over into his governance because his Justice Department won't treat black civil rights violators the same way that it treats white civil rights violators. That there's a racial pattern in which justice is enforced in this country. And it also gives us a sense into how Barack Obama thinks about these issues.

At every point in his life when he could have followed the path of Martin Luther King, he threw in his lot with the Jeremiah Wrights and the Derrick Bells of the world. And it's important not just because of what Obama believes but it's important to vet the media. The mainstream media covered this up –

THOMAS: So, you want him to take it easy on the white supremist [sic] groups?

POLLAK: That's exactly the opposite.

THOMAS: Is that it? I'm just asking. You know, I mean it. I'm just asking.

POLLAK: Yes. Why don't you just ask the question – why don't you ask the question without knowing a thing about me or what I believe. This is typical mainstream media behavior. I'm challenging you –

THOMAS: I'm just looking at your skin. That's all I'm looking at. I'm just talking white guy to white guy.

POLLAK: So you're – oh, you're judging me by the color of my skin.

THOMAS: Yes, I am. I sure am.

Classic Alinsky tactics

Submitted by Galvanic on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 9:34am.

O'Brien followed the regular Obama WH counter to bad news: "there's nothing here."

But Pollack was well-prepared on the subject, and turned it around on her. As she insisted that there's "no bombshell," he assembled the bomb for her and noted that the media refuses to look into it.

Then, after O'Brien had been verbally KO'ed by Pollack, Thomas jumps in to throw the Race Card. After suggesting in an indirect way that black Americans are justified in applying Critical Race Theory, he then attempts to paint Pollack as a defender of white supremecist groups.

The impressive Mr.  Pollack was sharp enough and agile enough to throw it right back at him.

Alinsky: "Define your enemy. Don't let your enemy define you."

How about, "The Bombshell is that you are about to have an aneurysm over what you claim is a "non-story."

Don't fret that there isn't enough red meat in this video. This is classic Breitbart style of "death by a thousand cuts." We have a whole summer to go.

Machiavelli wrote that "the ends justify the means."

Alinsky wrote "Does the end justify the means?" is meaningless as it stands: the real and only question regarding the ethics of means and ends is, and always has been, "Does this particular end justify this particular means?"

If Alinskys writings are so terrible, why does Dick Armey distribute them to the Tea Party?

Mr. Brandon called the effort to associate Mr. Obama with Mr. Alinsky "a double-edged sword." While Mr. Alinsky was an avowed liberal Democrat, "his tactics when it comes to grass-roots organizing are incredibly effective," Mr. Brandon said.

He cited the group's sending of tea-party activists to town-hall meetings. "When the first five people step up to the microphone to challenge a congressman,'' he said, "it completely changes the dynamic of the town hall—he spends all of his time defending himself."

Your hero idolizes Alinsky and supports his writing called "Rules for Radicals." It is common required reading for all community activists/agitators. You are an agitator here in the name of your man-child president. That is his, and your, connection to Alinsky.

You do not have to fear Alinsky. You have to fear his disciples, and the most powerful one in this moment in history is Barry Hussein O'bama (Soetoro).

It is a shame that you do not know American history. You must have been edumicated in the pubic screwel system. Yes. Pubic Screwel System Edumication.

By the way, tool, there are no community organizers in China, North Korea, Sudan, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam, Laos, and Burma to name a few.

You know o'bama? And you are not afraid of his radical anti-American agenda? Keep your head in the sand. We will save you from yourself.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/03/04/obama-alinsky-love-song

While you are it, you can then explain why is it that the video that exists of this speech is not being released!!

Answer this question, why are Leftists who palled around with Obama so terrified of releasing tapes that they own of speeches that Barack Obama gave in the past? why?

Why is it that the L.A. times does not want to release a video that they have of Obama and Rashid Khalidi having dinner together? why? (Oh wait, you haven't heard of the radical, terrorist supporter RAshid Khalidi so no big deal, right?)

Braindamaged, You are one

Submitted by Liberallies on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 12:50am.

Braindamaged,

You are one crazy Left wing radical. Think about it, just for a second.

Where did I ever claim Obama is a monster? You are one paranoid tool.

All I said, which now you prove you can't read and comprehend is, there is video of Obama giving a speech after he was present at a pro-Alinsky play in which afterwards, he gave a speech. The individual who has this video does not want to release the video. I simply asked, why? Not calling Obama a monster. If the video will not harm Obama, why not release it and prove that the Right is barking up the wrong tree? Right? make the Conservatives look like fools by releasing the video.

You are the typical Liberal nut who can't answer questions and put words into the writings of others. Never said Obama is a monster, but I did ask you, why is it that the LA Times is not releasing video of Rashid Khalidi and Obama together? why? Why is the person who has video of Obama speaking at a pro-Alinsky play does not want to release it?

Attempt to answer the questions without adding your stupid, ridiculous, moronic, Liberal talking point editorials.

Why do left wingers who have videos of obama refuse to release them? Simple question. But you are terrified to answer it.

If Obama is merely getting to know Alinsky and he does not believe in Alinsky's tactics, why is it that the Left has gone through great lengths, why is it that his campaign has gone through great lengths, why is it that his adoring supporters who honestly believe Obama is the savior go to great length to inform everyone, to tell everyone, to force everyone to believe that Obama hasn't read, doesn't know, could careless about Alinsky?

Maybe while you are it you can explain why of all the places Obama could have launched his political career, back in the mid-1990s when he ran for a Congressional seat at the State level in Illinois, he chose to launch it from the house of William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. why?

are these not fair questions to ask, braindamaged? or are only you Leftists the ones who get to ask questions about Republican candidates and no one can dare to question your god Obama?

Critcal Race Theory info on line

Submitted by airedaletwo on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 10:26pm.

Instead of Wikipedia which in situations like this gets really politically changed (it's been changed something like 26 times already today) use Google and this search: critical race theory an introduction Then choose the scholarly articles. The R. Delgado book (first entry when i searched) does a pretty good job of explaining the theory (he was one of the founders of the idea along with Bell).

There are others but if you want to give Ms O'Brien a clue perhaps she should read; Education policy as an act of white supremacy: Whiteness, critical race theory and education reform [PDF] from ioe.ac.uk D Gillborn - Journal of Education Policy, 2005 since that specifically mentions white supremacy. That way she won't have to read past the title.

That said even a cursory reading of the scholarly material the search brings up shows that either she wasn't familiar with Critical Race Theory or chose to dissemble about it to hide the truth I suppose she could not have the intelectual abiltiy to understand it, but I doubt that. Since there is evidence on line that she wrote that shows she is familar with Critical Race Theory and she's not dumb your left with she dissembled to hide the truth.

You can find things written by Bell and the other founders of Critical Race Theory. i found a better collection by going through Proquest which I can access with my LA public library card at the LAPL website. But if you read the material (some is pretty dense academic writing) you can form your own opinion.

If I think the guy is a raving racist they would argue it's becasue I'm white. It's an important legal theory that's gone all through our legal and educational system. Using their theory I can't comment on it effectively and unbiasedly because I'm white. Basically it's that racsim totally permiates all of our society and all decsions even those that are seen as benificial to African-Americans like Brown v Board of Education are only some tidbit that the White power structure has allowed and in reality it benefits the White power structure. I haven't found out how he viewed people like Therogood Marshall who fought for and totally believed in the decsion. I'd guess he thought they were deluded fools or worsse. You can read enough of the stuff in a half hour or so to come to some basic conclusions on your own. You can also watch the movie based upon his book. i forget where I saw all 3 parts of it this morning. It's short probably 15-20 min total. Robert Guillaume stars in it along with a number of other stars. It fits into the theory becuase becuase it's an intergal part of Bells theory. It doesn't have to be true to create a true message.

Ace of Spades HQ, Allahpundit and other conservative sites have some good links and writeups about him too.

braindamage2000: So how come when people like Michael Steele and Sarah Palin criticize him, the GOP makes them backtrack?

If the GOP did not FORCE them to backtrack at gunpoint, THEN HOW DID THEY FORCE THEM?

The only assertion IS STILL YOURS troll.

You said the GOP made them backtrack. BACK IT UP. You want to deny it was at gunpoint. Do it. SHOW US THE EVIDENCE they were forced at something other than gunpoint. Do it sissy troll. BACK IT UP.

Do you think that Boy Barry

Submitted by killa37 on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 2:26am.

Do you think that Boy Barry Soetoro Baraka Hussein Obama can talk about the 'black experience' in America, meat?? The guy is HALF white, 3/8 Arabic, and 1/8 African..............raised by a WHITE commie mother and a WHITE commie grandmother (who he kept under lock and key during his campaign, until she myseriously DIED right before his corontation)............and enjoyed ALL of the perks of affirmative action (hey, meat, I went to the same high school as Barry did, and I got in there because of my IQ and test scores, and I have transcripts to prove it...................Barry got in there because of his so-called color, and the fact that his 'typical WHITE grandma' was a bank VP and had some connections), quotas, political correctness, moooooooooooooslem contributions, left-wing support, and the fact that these colleges and graduate schools that he PURPORTEDLY attended were, and are, very left-wing and liberal schools. So, aside from hanging around with a bunch of white and black and moooooooooslem rabble-rousers, and marrying a commie/elitist/left wing clydesdale like Moooooooooooochelle..................what, exactly, can Boy Barry talk about with regards to the American 'black' experience??? Hell, I know more about it than he does.....................and I learned it from old blues records.

Lemme see,meat..........have you checked the 'black' unemployment numbers lately - since your Boy has been in office??? Have you seen any evidence that they are being 'uplifted' by the 'hope and change' promised them by your Boy Barry??? And aside from Eric (with)Holder - who is a criminal and should be sent to Guantanamo (along with Barry), and the much disgraced Van Jones - who is an avowed communist with a vitriolic hatred for the USA (very similair to Boy Barry), can you name any other 'blacks' who are a part of your WON'S administration???

Oh, and Moooooooooooochelle.................is she traipsing around Compton, uplifting the 'ho's' in the hood with HER love of 'common black folk'??? Hell no...............she's a total elitist, and she was against private school vouchers in DC...........of course, her 'black' daughters might be the only one of their kind at the ritzy private school where they go, huh???

As for the vouchers................Mrs. Mooooooooooochelle is content to give her own daughters the best of everything possible, but she sure as hell doesn't want any other 'uppity black folks' to have the same opportunity, other than when she's flapping her angry gums about it - before she goes off on another vacation.

DON'T tell me 'welcome to Liberalism', because I'm your WORST nightmare..................I live in the REAL world, and I disdain, refute, and obliterate 'liberalism' when I am confronted by it.

Bell???????????? Just a minor-league racist, but attached at the hip with your Boy Barry.

Do I need to lay them out for you?? I'm not wasting my time...........you haven't even heard of some of the races that I have hired............and gotten along with..........and PAID!!! You're a fu**kin idiot who wouldn't know reality of it hit you between your myopic crossed eyes. What do you do, moron?? Who have you hired?? Who do you interact with?? Who pays your bills??? Who pays you??? What have you done to make this country better??? I'm saying that you're a complete troll who can't support anything that you talk about or purport to know or have done......................you're all talk and all bullshit, as usual.

And since you're so goddam*ed racist, why do you have to narrow down the subject matter to what your Boy Barry has done to improve 'black Americas' lives??? I find that to be a VERY racist statement - if you want to talk 'race'/ I've done a lot more to improve a LOT of America's 'race' lives...............what the hell have you done, meat??? Answer me.

Forget about Bell............he's a minor-league racist, just like you. You're totally out of your league with me, asshole, unless you can prove that you have done 1/100th for 'race relations' that I have, and I can guaran-damn-tee you that it AIN'T gonna happen.

Conservatives are concerned about Blacks in America

Submitted by Boudin on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 7:46am.

Just like they are concerned about everyone else. The animosity created by this Admin and the media by pitting one group against another is the most bigoted thing I have ever witnessed in my time. Conservatives dont care of your race, religion, or your sexual preference. What they care about is liberty, and the advances made to limit it. The same freedom you have to be you, is the same freedom I have to be free from you.

Also, if you want to know what makes Bell a racist, look up Black theology. Their views are very similar to those of Raza and White supremacy groups.

Logically, those statements, attributed to someone else because you cant bother to get my screen name right, don't make me a liar. Simply, I never said I had a document. You asked for one and flipped out that I did not have one. Apparrently, only Liberals have to source every comment they make. Nobody else on this board has to source anything. Because you hold double standards. That's fine. It just makes it clear that you don't want to be honest. You just want to be immature, and jump up and down like a little boy. This is why you don't get taken seriously in the world.

You can see videos of Steele attacking Rush, Rush firing back, and Steele caving like a baby. You can see Palin refusing to have Rush aplogize, after Lefty Chris Wallace pointed out her hypocrisy. You can see George Will, that Leftist Loon, proclaim that the GOP is afraid of Rush.

But because I don't have the written proof that I never claimed to possess, and that you asked for, that makes me a liar? Take a look in the mirror, and ask yourself what you stand for.

Do you want to have meaningful debate, or do you just want to show the world how angry you are?

And why are you so angry?

You have no problem with it, not because you've thought it out and reasoned that he is correct, but because, like all liberals, you think that believing others to be evil automatically elevates you to a higher plane.

Slavery was once a thing that virtually EVERYONE USED. Do you think Whitey was running around the African jungle catching natives? White slave traders bought them from black and Arab slave traders, transported them to a new market and sold them at a profit.
America is the only country that ever fought an internal war to abolish slavery, and perhaps the idiots looking for a white guy with a whip behind every bush should remember that thousands upon thousands of white American men died to set them free.

If America wanted, it could have taken over the entire African continent, enslaved the population, and turned it into one giant farm/theme park/hunting preserve. We didn't, because that's not who we are. We're a country based on individual freedom and equality, unlike the poverty-stricken, war-torn, famine-prone sh!tholes scarring the face of the African continent.

Tell me something, how does your heart continue to beat with that strain of compensating for the megatons of guilt that you bear?

Sorry dude.  I read enough history to know what a problem racism has been since ever and how badly blacks have fared in this country long term.  But until I can somehow invent a time machine, there ain't a damn thing I can do about it.  About the ONLY thing I can do is apply the Golden Rule to every individual (Vandamage2000, an individual is...forget it) and remember the words of some guy who years back said to judge not on the color of one's skin but the content of their character (something you have severe trouble doing to this day from the looks of things).

Emmitt Till?  The Scottsboro boys?  Countless other acts of injustice towards fellow men because of their pigmentation?  Sorry, again, I was far from being imagined when these things happened.

See, I have had nothing to do with Jim Crow laws.  Nor have I or anyone in my family owned slaves.  The only remedy is listed above.  You may want to try it sometime, instead of walking around and seeing EVERYTHING through a racial prism.

Blacks family structure has been decimated, leaving black children without a father figure to look up to, so they often look to gangs for a "family". "Blacks are disapportionately incarcerated for crimes". Do you not want criminals to suffer the consequences of criminal behavior regardless of color? Are you proposing that there should be some kind of "affirmative action" for black criminals?

Also check out DOJ statistics. Over 90% of all blacks died from homocide were killed by other blacks. How are you going to blame that on whites? Not only that, check out the stats on another fact. Blacks are now killing each other at a younger age. Black teenagers are now the most deadly threat to other blacks. Again, how do you blame that on whites?

Vandamage2000 megatons of guilt

Submitted by Unsane on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 7:52pm.

And as you are overwhelmed with guilt, you see every single thing through a racial prism.

Lots of people are murdered for LOTS of different reasons today.  I'm as pasty as they come, and I carry concealed when I am out and about.  Why?  Because lots of people are murdered for lots of different reasons.  But because of your obsession with race, the ONLY thing you care about is when people are killed due to race.  To me, killing people is just plain wrong, and I don't NEED a freaking motive for anything other than curiousity.

Critical Race Theory isn't about me, all right: it's about academic wankery, and about people like you who are consumed with guilt.

Sounds to me like you are yet another Statist/Socialist who, because of YOUR guilt, want the concept of individual liberties replaced with group rights.  You are simply looking for any and every excuse to SCREAM "RACISM".

I am sure the ONLY acceptable answer to your closing question is "Because the United States is THE sickest, most evil nation on earth; because the United States INVENTED racism and slavery."  Tell me something: do you go to the rooftop of wherever you live, pleading for some other enlightened civilzation to inflict a nuclear holocaust on the United States to purge this planet of evil once and for all?

Because of the Serengeti liberal policies have turned urban areas into. YOU take away the fathers. YOU take away the shame of out of wedlock parenthood. YOU promise something for nothing. YOU don't look at the consequences, even when they are now staring you in the face. You obviously see the problem, or you wouldn't ask the question.

Yes he did hold his ground

Submitted by airedaletwo on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 11:05pm.

Yes he did hold his ground under assualt by 1 dishonest journalist and a comedian/talk show host. Jay was only on there to toss the race card so Soladad didn't have to do it. He knew nothing about the subject and his only contribution was accusing him of being a racist. He was bullied by CNN in the interview since there was a difference in power (she controlled the mike as well as the flow of the show. Second it was 2 on 1.) and that power was used as part of the attack on another party.

Just picking on Wikipedia for the definition of bullying: "Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior manifested by the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when the behavior is habitual and involves an imbalance of power. It can include verbal harassment, physical assault or coercion and may be directed repeatedly towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability.[2][3] The "imbalance of power" may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a "target".

Bullying consists of three basic types of abuse – emotional, verbal, and physical. It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as intimidation. Bullying can be defined in many different ways. The UK currently has no legal definition of bullying,[4] while some U.S. states have laws against it.[5]

In this case there was verbal harrasment, accusations that he was a racist as well belittling him repeatedly in other areas They used emotional and verbal abuse (mild in that it wasn't vile or overtly threatening physical violence but physical violence isn't needed.).

This tells me a lot about Soledad and her obsession with labels.

Submitted by drsamherman on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 1:43pm.

Soledad is essentially an academic fashion victim. She makes the asinine assumption that Ivy League = superior. She also makes the stupid assumption that Derrick Bell's faculty position at Harvard makes him immune from criticism for outlandish theories, racialism and bigotry. None of her assumptions are true.

Equating Harvard with some kind of omniscience and omnipotence is in and of itself absurd, but when she says that Bell is somehow not to be questioned solely because he was Harvard's first tenured Black professor shows her own stupidity, bias and prejudice.

As for the "what are you scared of"? Well, gee, let's see. Ignoring the constitution because it is wholly inconvenient to them. Stifling opposition by the Alinsky method or by threats of lawsuits. Political intimidation of governors and state governments and treating them as if they are just subordinates to be ordered about. Corruption deeper than anything we have seen since the Watergate days. The re-creation of White House enemies lists thanks to Barack Milhouse Obama. Wholesale intimidation and reckless disregard of the boundaries separating church and state and the unbelievably brash hypocrisy that the left has displayed on the issue. I could go on and on.

Never wonder how dumb SO'B really is. Just wonder how often she shows an actual moment of clarity.

Here's the thing. You're on a conservative site asking conservatives to explain a flaming liberal's views to you, a liberal. You disclaim all knowledge of Alinsky or Bell, or anything they stand for. Now, has it occurred to you that perhaps you should go and read what your compatriots have written, think on it, reason out what you agree with, and why, and then come back and defend it?

No, it hasn't. Because like most liberals, you aren't for anything because you've given it serious thought and decided exactly what you believe and why, you're just knee-jerk against anything that has traditionally been held to be right, moral, and pure. Your ideology isn't an affirmation of what you believe, it's a negation of what others believe. This is why liberals will never win in the arena of ideas, and why you don't know what the Left is really about, or how to defend it. All you can do is stir the pot.

And that's a shame.

I think Pollak did very well

Submitted by Halcyon on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 4:12pm.

I think Pollak did very well in the face of so much Obama activist asininity.

He was not only able to convey the 'fact' of Obama's affiliation, past and current, with racist, anti-American radicals, but he also fully exposed O'Brian's willingness to lie, obfuscate and distort in service to her political ideology. Her claims of objectivity are laughable, as is any claim she might make to intelligence, considering her total surprise when Pollack refused to allow her condescending, contemptuous pronouncements on the matter to go without question.

Submitted by Vandamage2000 on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 11:38pm.

Thats my point. No one ever heard of this guy, and now that he's dead, BJ (Big Journalism) is trying to make him a big Liberal Boogeyman with all sorts of crazy radical ideas about how to enslave white people for the benefit of blacks.

But all he ever did was teach at Harvard and write about how white people had all the power in society. Clearly, a lot has changed since he wrote about critical race theory. But in his time, his writings meant a lot to people, and were considered controversial by others.

If you're looking for evidence that Obama is the crazy left radical you always knew he was, this isnt it.

YOU give it up, Ms. Lovely Rad!!! There's NO evidence that Boy Barry is/was/or will EVER be a radical leftist - it's just not so!!
You don't know if he read Alinksy, you don't know if he knew Ayers, you don't know that he attended, much less listened to, Rev. Wright, you don't know anything about any relationship between Barry and Calypso Louie, or Mooooooooooochelle and Louie's wife, you don't know about his nefarious ties with the people in Chicago who helped put him where he is - both politically and personally.....................hell, Ms. Rad - you don't even know that the things Barry 'wrote' in his book are true or not - and there's nothing radical or leftist in those nice pieces of mellow, easy-going prose, right???

You just are too opinionated, Ms. Rad.............and you think you know too much..............plus, you're a racist to boot!!! And don't say anything about Baraka's purple lips - that's really dipping low in the 'race-baiting' category!!!

I think you should just chill out, take a few deep breaths, have a cocktail, and turn on the StateRun Media..............they'll tell you what you need to know.

Obama claims to know nothing about Ayres or Wright - and for that, he's a pathelogical liar - but what else is new.

Liddy has more sense and brains in his little toe nail than you will ever have in your entire pathetic life. And as for the 'burglary'?
Watergate was junior high-school pranktime compared to what goes on today - and especailly as it has been excaserbated since the Clinton REGIME............so don't go around thinking that Liddy is some common criminal - this guy could eat you for lunch before you had a chance to make your first move, meat.

Why do you think Obama and Farrakhan are linked?

Obama and Ayres were both politcally active in Chicago. I don't know why he's responsible for everything Ayres said or did. Of course Obama knew Wright. I don't see where he said "I , Barack Obama, agree with everything Wright has ever said."

Would it be fair to dig up dumb Pat Robertson quotes, and apply them to people in the GOP?

Liddy once planned to kill journalist Jack Anderson. Do you still want to defend Liddy? Do you want to defend John McCain for palling around with Liddy?

20 Years or Reverend Wright

Submitted by Vandamage2000 on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 4:55am.

But the only clip the Right ever plays of Wright was from after 9/11, ten years ago, in which he says the sins of America caused 9/11. Not something I agree with. but Pat Robertson said the same exact thing.

Dude, Republicans kiss Pat Robertsons ass all the time. You don't think they stop by the 700 club?

I don't think Obama was a fan of everything Wright said. I don't think he heard every sermon over a 20 year span. I don't think Republicans are responsible for everything Robertson said. But you only play "Guilt by association" with liberals, and not with anyone else.

Read Liddy's book.

If America is a center right country, and liberals are the fringe, then why cant the GOP have a conservative nominee for President? Romney's moderate politics could give Obama a run for his money. But Santorum would get completely creamed.

Vacuous Dummy, you're still

Submitted by killa37 on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 4:27pm.

Vacuous Dummy, you're still around??? Is this your life - making a non-stop fool of yourself?? I know you're an attention-slut, but even those types need a break sometimes...........

I've heard all sorts of statements out of Rev. Wright's big more-white-than-black mouth, and so have most other people who pay attention...............apparantly you haven't. As for Pat Robertson, I don't follow him at all, although I've seen the StateRun Media lambaste him 100 times more than they ever mentioned Rev. Wright..................I wonder why??? And, yeah, I'm sure that ALL the GOP members stop by the 700 Club to bow down and kiss his ass..................jeez, you're a moron!! Most of the people here on this website would tell you to give them proof.................I don't need any 'proof', because I know you're just talking out of your idiot okole (that is a@@ in Hawaiian).

But then you say that 'Republicans aren't responsible for everything Robertson said', after saying that they 'kiss his ass'?? Man, you can't even execute a coherent argument without shooting yourself in the foot!!!

And I'm pretty sure that your Boy Baraka STAYED in Wright's church for 20+ years because he didn't HEAR, much less AGREE, with what Wright was preaching!!! I mean, you'd do the same thing, Wright.....I mean, right??? Holy shee-yat, Vein Drip, I've got a 6 year old grandson who has more common sense than you do.

I used to listen to Liddy everyday on the radio when he was on over here, so I'd venture to say that I know more about where he's coming from than you do.................and I stand by anything I've said about him, as it relates to our so-called conversation.

As to your last dumb statement - the GOP establishment is NOT 'conservative', and the StateRun Media is VERY liberal, so it becomes increasingly harder for a true conservative to win the nomination..........because they will be attacked and back-stabbed from both sides...............look what happened to Sarah Palin, who was the ONLY interesting and 'new' candidate in the last election. The GOP and the media did NOT want Ronald Reagan, but somehow he managed to get through the gauntlet that was set up in front of him, and became the last respectable and admirable president that we've had in the modern era. It's only gone downhill since then, and we're at the bottom of the barrel now.................which, by the way, was by design. You see, the bottom of the barrel is where your Boy Baraka wants us, and he's just trying to complete his vision for the USA, so that it can become one huge Obamaville, Barackistan, USSA.

some people's stupidity

Submitted by east tennessee john on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 11:37am.

How stupid and uninformed can someone be? Let's see BO in his own book says he hung with the radicals and Marxist professors while in school. Is he a liar? He embraces the founder of critical race theory and spends 20 years listening to the preeminent black liberation preacher in the country, a direct student of black liberation theology's founder, Rev. James Cone. His mentor in Hawaii was Frank the Communist and it would take a "willing suspension of disbelief" to quote Hillary, that none, not any of this , had a impact on his thinking or world view. Not his Marxist mom or socialist dad, not Clower and Piven at Columbia not any of his self proclaimed readings. How fucking stupid can some people be when it comes to BO? If I admitted to Wharton School, Harvard Business and work at a Wall Street firm, reading Milton Friedman, might you not conclude I was a markety oriented person? It's not one or two things you moron it's the totality of evidence. They are the only things BO was involved in and absorbed from. Grow up .

Your post is a good one, ETJ,

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 3:22pm.

Your post is a good one, ETJ, and truthful - if we are going to believe our lyin' ears about anything Baraka says or writes. But the 'rest of the story' (to quote the late, great Paul Harvey) is that Baraka has doubled down and continued on the same path as laid out in his books with the continuation of his career as a 'community organizer' (and I'm still waiting to see a whole lot of evidence of that), as well as his grooming and selection as an up-and-coming politician from out of the Chicago political machine.

Of course, I would expect Vein Drip to come up with some dense question or statement as to why this evidence has anything to do with reality................and I'm not sure where ifight is coming from, unless he landed on his head too many times from skateboarding, or forgot to ground the microphone before he touched it with his mouth............and, just for authenticity, I HAVE not only landed on my head a few times, but I've come close to drowning, been knocked on my ass by an ungrounded microphone, and ingested serious amounts of LSD.....................................that should make me fair game around here for the people who might disagree with my viewpoints.

I judge a man on his actions

Submitted by Vandamage2000 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 4:20pm.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed necolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society’s stifling constraints. We weren’t indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated. But this strategy alone couldn’t provide the distance I wanted, from Joyce or my past. After all, there were thousands of so-called campus radicals, most of them white and tenured and happily tolerated. No, it remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

He was writing about his race and cultural heritage, what people saw him as, and how it confused his place in the world. Obama spoke to a lot of people and read a lot of books. Some of them you might agree with, some not so much.

You keep tossing out names that are somehow linked to him. I don't see what you're getting at. If Obama is a Marxist, he's pretty terrible at it. What are you driving at?

Limbaugh attacked a private citizen, Maher attacked a public figure. You think Obama owes Palin a phone call, after she casually suggests Obama is a terrorist? Give me a break. Wheres the Palin apology.

As far as Healthcare Proposals, ObamaCare was a Republican idea. Now that Obama proposed it, Republicans turned away from it. I'd have to hear the speech where Obama said that particular phrase, because I know for a fact the individual mandate came from guys like Romney and Gingrich, who are now trying to fun from it.

Obama didnt use the prompters to speak to children, he used them to address the press who were also present (weak? you ask? sure, but hardly a federal case.

Obama had to spend money to get us out of the recession. I know, you don't like that answer, but federal spending gets us out of jams, just like in WWII. All Presidents have run deficits, and increased them. Reagan drove up the national debt. Bush turned a surplus into a deficit. But now Obama is a jerk for doing the same?

And you'll have to explain the GM bondholders thing. I dont know what you mean.

Among the Republican ideas were 1) Tort Reform, 2) Interstate HMO purchasing, 3) Co-ops or "pooling" so small companies/individuals can get group discounts

Weak?  Nice try, but you would call any Republican a moron for doing the same as ObamAA+.

"Obama had to spend money to get us out of the recession"  - I call BS on that and you next 3 comments as well.  Reagan had a DEMOCRAT congress spending money like crazy.  There was no suprlus handed to Bush, and the issue with ObamAA+ is he QUADRUPLED the deficit.  Not that he had deficit spending.  He QUADRUPLED the deficit he criticised Bush for.

Moody's is a sham. Besides, they gave that rating because of the brinksmanship of Republicans refusing to raise the debt ceiling. You know, as Reagan did many times.

Reagan was signing those spending bills, when he wasnt busy raising taxes and negotiating with terrorists. Bush had a republican congress for his first six years, and he spent money like crazy. Just not on this country.

By the way, maybe you can address this...

why of all the places Obama could have launched his political career, back in the mid-1990s when he ran for a Congressional seat at the State level in Illinois, the first time he ever ran for a political office, he chose to launch it from the house of William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. why? Remember, your god Obama claimed they were just peopel from the neighborhood. And fools like you ate up his lie. "Moody's is a sham".   I would laugh, but it's scary if you truly think that way.  Your level of intentional ignorance is epic.

You mean Reagan and the Democrat Congress.   Clinton did that with the Republican congress too.  Please try not to confuse yourself.

Yes, Reagan did sign those bills.  Did you expect him to keep the govt shutdown for months?  Based on you own remarks, you apparently don't like that sort of "Brinksmanship".   The deficits under Bush were going down until the Dems took congress in 2006.

I think GM should have "gone belly up".  They would have re-organized and emerged from Chapter 11 as a leaner, stronger company.   And I didn't bring up BoA, you did.  Dont change the subject just because you are getting clobbered by inconvenient facts.  Focus.  Pay attention.

Moody's is only a sham because they burned your hero His Majesty The Shahinshah.  Besides, what do YOU care about their ratings?  I mean, you view the government as a Barrel Of Endless Money anyway.

Reagan was signing those spending bills, when he wasnt busy raising taxes and negotiating with terrorists. Bush had a republican congress for his first six years, and he spent money like crazy. Just not on this country.  Actually,. ingrate, Bush spent SOME of that money making sure your whiny ass is safe to blast and endlessly badmouth your own country.  Andf sadly for you, you aren't going to find a whole lot of Bush supporters here.  I didn't care for his domestic policy.  I liked him better as a governor.  But he was a godsend, foreign policy wise.  And he appointed two solid SCOTUS justices.

Reagan ONLY raised taxes, huh?  I never dreamed Kemp-Roth was a tax hike.  And negotiating with terrorists?  I didn't think Eldorado Canyon was an exercise in negotiation.  I likewise didn't think the interception and forcing down a EgyptAir jet which carried the Achille Lauro hijackers was an attempt to negotiate with them.  If you are going to read your history, at least do so honestly.

Your WHOLE line of reasoning is based on anything other than some weird thing called "ideas".  In your world, we should all shut up and become happy little Socialists, cheerfully turning over every single imaginable economic and political freedom imaginable to the government (they know best, right, Vandamage2000?).  Why?  Because Reagan is a f****** G*d**** a******, and Bush (both of them) are f****** G*d**** a*******, and because EVERY conservative is a F****** G*D**** A******!!!!!  Not, I note, because nanny-state Socialism is superior.  You won't, and can't, argue that, and you wilt when presented with superior ideas.

GM should have gone belly up, or had been merged into profitable businesses.  But then, you don't seem to realize why corporations exist.  (Hint: GM, et al, are not jobs programs.)  And if you are living in a home and can't even find a property deed, what kind of loser are you?  I can find my lease in 10 seconds, IF that.  If you are living in a foreclosed upon home, maybe you shouldn't have signed the contract to make payments for it.  (By the way, contracts simply aren't signed in this country at the point of a gun like some would have us believe.)  And anytime you violate your contract, you do in fact cheat those who you have signed the contract with.

Braindamaged2000,

Submitted by Liberallies on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 5:12pm.

Braindamaged2000,

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Limbaugh attacked a private citizen and Maher a public, so the latter is ok, but the former not?! hahahaha!!!

Ok you fool, I mean tool, what is the difference?! Did Sarah Palin stop being a human being, a woman, a lady because she became a public figure? Liberal "Reasoning" quite stupid!

AND Sandra Fluke, you moron, became a public figure the second she stepped infront of the Democratic panel to lie about contraceptives. The second she took time and used our tax dollars her testimony infront of Democrats became public and she became a public figure!

Additionally, when she has kept on going infront a national audience through national television shows, she is a public figure!!!

However, public or private, why the difference? So, you have the right to insult my wife if she becomes a public figure, but if she is a private citizen you do not?

Please tell me where in the Constitution can I find that free speech, which includes insulting other citizens, is limited to being used against or for public figures?! WOW!!!!!

Eh.....Bush did spend way too many billions, you are 100% correct! But you must be a young 15 year old kid if you do not remember the heart attack and a half that Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, and the rest of the Left were having for Bush spending so much money.

Now, Obama called Bush unpatriotic and irresponsible for Bush added $4 trillion dollars in debt in 8 years. Obama has raised or debt to $16 trillion dollars in how many years? 3.5 years!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUPZJDBJI84&feature=related

I am only using Obama's own standards he set in the above speech against Bush. Will you hold Obama accountable to his own words? I know, I know, Liberal hypocrite, you won't. But you will hold Republicans to a standard you will not hold your god to.

So, using Obama's own logic, own reasoning, own words, Obama is unpatriotic and irresponsible!

But oh shoot, how dare anyone on the Right hold President Obama to the same standards that he along with his sycophant supporters like you hold politicians on the Right, right? how dare we?! LOL idiot.

Obama has been touting universal healthcare long before he came into the national scene, Oh please. Get an education, fool. So what Romney and Newt wanted an Obamacare type healthcare system, it didn't make it right or moral when they wanted it and Romney put it innto place in Massachussetts and we know the disaster that has been created up there.

Two wrongs, don't make a right. I don't care who wanted and said Obamacare should be created, whether it is Obama, Romeny or Newt or any other politician from either side of the ailse, it is immoral and wrong.

By the way, hmmmm....federal spending did NOT get us out of any jam in WWII, get a clue and an education. It was WWII and the private sector as well as the government sector putting countless out of work Americans to work to build Fortress America. Get a clue!

It was Federal spending, in huge part, that got us into the Great Depression, look up the Hoover Dam and other such projects before you keep on spewing Left wing nonsense and keep on making an idiot out of yourself.

Poor little liar, you can't win with the facts, so you start making things up. Typical, run of the mill Liberal.

I would be mad at and offended by my wife and daughter for acting as such. But don't worry, I don't expect you to understand that we must take responsability for our actions .

Anyway, nice lie, liar. Nice hypocrisy from you. Where you equally offended when Letterman said that one of Sarah Palin's underaged daughter, who is not a public figure, had sex with a professional baseball player? Of course not. And in your mind, i have zero doubt you will excuse it.

A limited-purpose public figure is one who (a) voluntarily participates in a discussion about a public controversy, and (b) has access to the media to get his or her own view across. One can also be an involuntary limited-purpose public figure—for example, an air traffic controller on duty at time of fatal crash was held to be an involuntary, limited-purpose public figure, due to his role in a major public occurrence.

You mean Baraka was LYING to

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 8:22pm.

You mean Baraka was LYING to us about his mooooooooooooooooslem faith, and his Christian faith, and his Black Liberation Theology faith too??? Who woulda thunk???? So if he lies to us about that, what makes all of us 'bitter clingers' think that he wouldn't have any problem lying to us about anything, and everything, else???

Of course, you're a Baraka supporter.............but you're too dense to realize that he's telling the same lies to you as he's telling to us.

And we wonder what is wrong with this country??? Boys and girls, I give you Exhibit A!!!!!

GALACTIC IDIOT LIB TOOL

Submitted by MrShy on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 6:23pm.

Is what you are. As well as willfully dishonest on a putrid level.

"And you don't think people at John McCain rallies who call Obama an "arab" are afraid of him?"

Liberallies, above, did not list things that ***people at*** Obama's rallies said, who called McCain or the people who would vote for him names to incite fear and divide people. Obama HIMSELF did this.

Shy -- this is a funny thread

Submitted by Jack Bauer on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 10:08am.

Shy -- this is a funny thread with that idiot...

You may care to mention that most of us conservatives here on NB were appalled that McCain was the GOP candidate...

The only thing he had going for us was he wasn't a socialist like Obama. One of things that appalled us about McCain was his propensity to attack conservatives and decline to attack Obama -- DURING THE FRACKIN' CAMPAIGN...!!

All of the above Mr Obama? --- How about ALL OF THE BELOW, instead.
