Piers Morgan and Rosie O'Donnell Bash 'Anti-Homosexuals' Republicans

By Matt Hadro | January 18, 2012 | 20:18

A  A

CNN's Piers Morgan never even tried to conceal his support for gay marriage while he hosted "special guest" Rosie O'Donnell for the one-year anniversary of his prime-time CNN show. The Tuesday interview morphed into a GOP-bashing festival as the two liberals derided some Republicans for their "anti-gay" remarks. Morgan never pressed O'Donnell about her past espousal of 9/11 "truther" conspiracies.

O'Donnell slammed America as a "backward nation in many ways" after being egged on by her interviewer on the topic of homosexuality. Morgan had branded certain GOP presidential candidates as "anti-homosexuals" and expressed his dismay at "the virulence of their rhetoric." [Video below the break.]

The liberal CNN host brazenly celebrated the rising number of states that have legalized same-sex marriage, comparing such events with the election of Obama. "These are big, big moments for America, aren't they?" he touted. "In the same way that Barack Obama became the first black president."

And Morgan never seriously tried to provide the conservative side of the debate on homosexuality and same-sex marriage. The closest he got was acknowledging that Republicans have a conservative base to please – before adding that they could not get away with such anti-gay statements in Europe.

"But I was still quite taken aback," he said of GOP statements against homosexual behavior. "Because it's – there aren't many countries actually, certainly not in Europe, where a politician could say those kind of things and get away with it."

who really cares about what celebrities have to say anyways?

I am getting sooooooooooo bloody sick and tired of these ultra-liberal, Hollyweird pinhead celebr-tards who feel whatever they say is gospel and whatever we as a people think or say is harmful....from Sean Penn and Eva (desperate for any talent) Longoria to Bill Maher, Michael Moore and the rest of the liberal junk-heap, these idiots should concentrate on their pathetic careers instead of trying to force their ideologies down our throats....their collective egos reminds me of the gooey ooze from that BP oil spill in the Gulf years back....in other words, all your liberal Hollyweird leftist celebr-tards, SHUT THE HELL UP!

Is he required to?

No

Submitted by MrLuigi on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 8:49pm.

No he doesn't have to, not when it's easier to demonize most of america and in fact the world for opposing what many consider an aberational lifestyle.

How would that be easier?

Reflexive

Submitted by MrLuigi on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 9:41pm.

It's easier because left-wingers do it reflexively. Their religion of choice is liberalism, it's enforcement arm is political correctness. Woe is he or she who doesn't genuflect to liberalism.

And, Morgan, who really gives a rip what anyone could say about homosexuals, in Europe? I don't live in Europe, so I really could give a **** what passes for enlightenment in the EU.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

How about this

Submitted by Tugboat Phil on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 9:09pm.

"...before adding that they could not get away with such anti-gay statements in Europe."

So opposing homosexuality on ANY grounds is "bashing."  Yet, denigrating and smearing Conservatives is merely a conversation.

Question for Piers: "If America is so bad because it's not like Europe, why didn't you go to live in Europe when you left Britain?

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

Europe does not know what free speech is.

Submitted by drsamherman on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 1:26am.

Most European countries treat freedom of speech more as a rhetorical device. Stupidities such as "hate speech" abound in their laws. Their definition of free speech has never matched the American constitutionally defined equivalent, and liberals in the United States are trying desperately to change that.

Piers is in the United States precisely because he could not earn even close to the money he is extorting from CNN here, and liberals are just stupidly and superficially Eurocentric enough to believe he is more intelligent because of the British accent.

You can certainly tell why MSNBC (with that idiot pig Martin Bashir), and CNN (with that moron Piers "Hacker" Morgan and others) are just below the security video feed from the front entrance door in their cable ratings.

Hey AppleHead - if we're so

Submitted by killa37 on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 10:22pm.

Hey AppleHead - if we're so damn 'backwards', maybe you ought to take ol' Long Walk/Short Piers (who feels the same way), and move back to merry ol' England...............you know, there's a lot of mooooooooooooooooooooslems over there, and they are REALLY 'forward thinking', as is most of the rest of the situation over there. I'm thinkin' that you'd look pretty good in a burkha, actually..........as long as they stuff your big ugly mouth with a rag that they've used to clean camel spit with.

Huh, I remember being struck by how, on election night, the far left ballot initiatives re: gay marriage were denied while we elected the far left B.O. - do I remember wrong???

Did Piers bash republicans

Submitted by Rbastid on Thu, 01/19/2012 - 5:48am.

Did Piers bash republicans like Jeremy Clarkson bashed Piers' face after he sent reports to spy and take pictures through Clarkson's window at his little daughters?

Piers is a disgusting human but now we're suppose to see him as a legit news reporter? No wonder CNN is in the toilet. (Odds are Elliot Spitzer's head was rested on the toilet at said time waiting for a lady friend to come over)

Piers should move back across the pond

Submitted by NOLAgirl on Thu, 01/19/2012 - 11:28am.

I lived in England for 3 years and I absolutely could NOT listen to their radio/TV news. I couldn't take the anger and hatred they spewed on a daily basis. The anti-American sentiments were just awful. Piers is a nasty Brit, nothing more.

I'll try to be nicer if you'll try to be smarter.

This is what I hate about

Submitted by Kevpot on Thu, 01/19/2012 - 12:35pm.

This is what I hate about leftists. It's not enough for you to say, "I think homosexuality is wrong, but if that's what you want for yourself, then fine."

No, you must EMBRACE it. You must declare it normal and support it. Soon, they will demand a pledge or signed contract in elementary schools to praise and support homosexuality, and if you are opposed to that, well, then you sir, are worse than Hitler.
