Liberal Comedian Derides Palin as 'Fictional Character'
Crusty comedian Lewis Black mocked Sarah Palin as a "fictional character" on CNN Wednesday, to an eruption of laughter from host Piers Morgan. "She's a fictional character that came to life. I'm serious. I think that someone wrote her," Black quipped.
Morgan played along with his act. "You couldn't invent someone like Sarah Palin, could you?" he asked the comedian, who hastily responded that Palin was "superfiction."

Black continued battering the conservative star's ascendency in 2008, which he coined as a sort of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" story. "But the fact is Jimmy Stewart would make a better candidate for the presidency than her," he remarked. "And he's dead."

A transcript of the segment, which aired on September 28 at 9:22 p.m. EDT, is as follows:
PIERS MORGAN: Who do you most fear becoming the Republican nominee on the basis they could then become president?
LEWIS BLACK, comedian: Sarah Palin.
MORGAN: Why?
BLACK: I don't think she exists.
MORGAN: What do you mean not exists?
BLACK: She doesn't exist. She's a fictional character.
(Laughter)
BLACK: She's a fictional character that came to life. I'm serious. I think that someone wrote her.
MORGAN: You couldn't invent someone like Sarah Palin, could you?
BLACK: Well, I mean, that's what really what makes her – it's superfiction. It's a whole – it's meta fiction. Whatever that means, America.
MORGAN: Why is she able to resonate with so many Americans in a positive way?
BLACK: Well, first off I don't know how many Americans. I think there are nine. Have you ever gotten a phone call from somebody asking you your opinion of anything?
MORGAN: No, but I'm British.
BLACK: OK. Well, no one's called me.
MORGAN: No one asks the British for any opinions any more.
BLACK: Yeah. Nobody's called me. No, I think – I mean there's certainly a group of people, you know, because she's a strong woman. You know, and she's – she certainly speaks her mind. But to think that she's going to – you know, as a president. You know, when she became the vice presidential candidate, I said this is all really great if it's like "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." If this is a movie. But the fact is, is that Jimmy Stewart would make a better candidate for the presidency than her. And he's dead.

Who the hell is this jerk off ex, maybe not ex-rummy talking about who's real and who's not? Can he, or Morgan for example, care to move beyond the cheap, easy ad hominem attacks and address, if they themselves are even capabale, an issue of policy? I doubt it. Jerk offs.

I can't think of a contemporary stand-up comic who hasn't revealed some sort of human frailty -- substance abuse/addiction, low self-esteem, eating disorder, etc.
So when they start raggin' on other celebrities, I don't expect any sense of knowledgeable fact to emerge.
The weaker ones like Joy Behar don't even get laughs.

...a panel at an American Psychiatric Association meeting a few years ago talked about celebrity mental illnesses with very public manifestations (e.g. Spears, Hilton, etc.), and the consensus from the nine psychiatrists on the panel was three mental illnesses are the most common: attention seeking personality disorder (treatable only by psychotherapy), bipolarity (treatable by multiple medications) and addiction disorders across the spectrum of substances and behaviors (gambling, shoplifting, etc.).

I remember the first time I heard of this guy, I was over at a friend’s house looking through his DVD’s when I found one of this guy. I pull it out and say who’s this? Oh Lewis Black, he’s a stand-up comic. Yea, so what’s he do? Well, sort of an angry liberal shtick. As I put the disc back on the shelf, no thanks I have enough angry liberals to deal with in real life. Besides the angry liberal shtick has been done to death.

It's a cheap and easy way of boosting your career, not to mention playing to the liberal ego-stroke/echo chamber market that Stewart and Maher have benefited from. Don't libs ever get tired of the same jokes over and over again?
Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.

Actually this is mild compared to what Bill Maher says, and not nearly as mean. I don't think Sarah would even pay attention to what Lewis Black has to say...she's certainly heard worse.
Hopefully, she's learned to pick her battles and not pay attention to some of these idiots.

Jon Liebowitz Stewart is a comedian. Lewis Black is trailer trash. He is not funny at all. He is just another has been/never was trying to squeeze out some income by bashing liberal enimies. Look at Joy Behar who set the example. She is a no talent bitch who thrives on nasty comments about republicans. But she, like Black, is not smart or funny.
Lewis Black Really is Funny
Submitted by HollyW on Thu, 09/29/2011 - 8:14pm.
Like so many comedians these days, Lewis Black's liberal political beliefs drain the substance from his true talent and alienates many who would have found him quite funny. Last night he passionately said that man made global warming exists. Then he goes on to make fun of Palin? Lewis doesn't know if man made global warming exists.....he might think it does, but stating it as fact drains his energy when he could be making fun of something....which he does so well. I'm fine with making fun of everybody, dems and republicans....but "Palin is stupid" and "Tea Party is racist" ain't funny. When he's not doing that, Lewis Black is hilarious.

I too have enjoyed the occasional comedy of Lewis Black, but like many Hollywood types he falls into the LDS trap - that's liberal derangement syndrome - wherein they suddenly see themselves as politically savvy, uber-intelligent, and thinking they can leap tall buildings in a single bound while telling the rest of us what we should think. Funny, his entire professional life is a bunch of made-up crap, but on this subject he is an expert? I don't think so.

That is what Lewis Black's act is, he acts like an angry person during the whole thing. I mean he is angry most the time, say at a 7, then he ramps it up to 11 for the act. After all, if he is going to do the same act day after day, what if someone gave him a cookie right before the show, he would be all "what a great day today" and that would ruin he reputation, so he ACTS in a MADE UP way.
