When the revolution comes, everything will be free! Mika Brzezinski gave us some good insight today into the liberal mind when it comes to economics.
The Morning Joe host was reacting today to news that for Thanksgiving, Verizon will be giving travelers free wifi in flight and at several airports around the country. Mocked Mika: "thank you so much for something you shouldn't be charging us for anyway."
Mika continued her kvetch a bit later: "we're going to give you something free that we charge you ridiculous prices for."
There's pretty lively competition among internet providers. But if Mika is convinced that reasonable returns can be made by charging much less, why not team up with money man Steve Rattner, there on the set today, and create "Mika-net?" May we suggest free service for the first year, followed by unlimited access at $5/month?
Reacting to Mika, Willie Geist joked—you were joking, Willie, right?—that "wifi should be like oxygen--just everywhere."
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Verizon is rolling out its own holiday, something the telecom giant is branding Connection Day. Travelers will be treated to free wifi at several airports across the country. Really, thank you so much for something that you shouldn't be charging us for anyway. They'll get access to free internet while in the air as well. Oh, my! . . . And we're going to give you something free that we charge you ridiculous prices for that we have anyway in our airports for ourselves. Right? Good Lord! Connection Day? I'll give you a Connection Day. That's not what I would call a Connection Day.
WILLIE GEIST: I do agree, wifi should be like oxygen, it's just everywhere.
