Trying to decide which is the bigger story here: 1. Mika Brzezinski speculating that Liz Cheney asked Ed Rollins, as a favor, to call her a "bored housewife"; or 2. Joe Scarborough saying that whenever he imitates Zbigniew Brzezinski's accent, Brzezinski beefs that he's making him "sound like a rabbi."
You be the judge. Both happened on today's Morning Joe. Liz Cheney has taken some heat for suggesting that sitting Republican Senator Enzi is old and confused. Mika seemed to be suggesting that having Rollins take a sexist shot at her would transform Cheney from aggressor into victim. There was a jocular jot in Mika's conjecture, but she did insist to Joe "you know that I'm right." View the video after the jump.
And speaking of insults, it apparently rankles Zbigniew—the man who recommended that the US threaten to shoot down Israeli planes overflying Iraq—to suggest that he sounds like a rabbi. Hmm.
So: was Mika just joking? And which is the bigger story, her speculation, or the fact that Zbig doesn't dig being taken for a rabbi?
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: It did seem a little awkward at first because there's a sitting senator who's very popular in position there. Do you think Liz called up Ed Rollins and said hey, could you do me a favor? Could you call me a bored housewife and, you know. Because that is just the last thing in the world that you would want to do if you if you want to --
JOE SCARBOROUGH: You are so cynical.
BRZEZINSKI: No, I'm not. You know I'm right.
SCARBOROUGH: You sound like your father [imitates accent]:"You know what I really think happened?" Anyway, whenever I start doing my Dr. Brzezinski, he says "you are making me sound like a rabbi!"
BRZEZINSKI: It's true.
