ABC Not Sure Whether Death Threats In Trayvon Martin Aftermath 'Going Too Far'
Is it right to make death threats against George Zimmerman and his family? ABC News isn't sure. In a Good Morning America segment today on the Trayvon Martin case, as an ABC reporter spoke from Sanford, Florida, this graphic was displayed across the bottom of the screen:
"ARE DEATH THREATS GOING TOO FAR?" Video and screencap after the jump.
Oddly, neither Alex Perez, the new ABC correspondent on the scene in Sanford, nor news anchor Ron Clairborne back in the studio who introduced the segment, made any mention of death threats. Presumably, they were referring to reports such as this one, in which a Zimmerman family member says that Zimmerman's parents have received such threats. The New Black Panther Party has also offered a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman, saying "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth". What can you say about ABC, a network with an open mind about the propriety of making death threats against Zimmerman and his family?

Left will be calling for deaths soon
Submitted by Slyrr on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 10:27am.
The liberal media will be CALLING for deaths before much longer. They've become too drunk with their ability to shape public opinion, and think they're a power unto themselves. It will most likely start with people like Mahar and Schultz, but soon it will bleed over to Matthews, Maddow, and finally to David Gregory and the whole liberal gang.
They'll start by saying, 'I'm not saying that Republican X SHOULD be killed - but would it really be so bad if someone DID kill him...?' Then they'll start elaborating on all the positive things that would result if Republican X were to be gunned down by a protestor or a hoodie wearing thug.
Mark my words - they're heading that way. Some of them are already there. They're just trying to justify it by hiding behind the mask of 'entertainers'. The first couple of times they may say, 'I was only joking'.
But soon they won't be joking. And rest assured - right thinking people never thought they were funny to start with.
You're correct

I think a lot of these protests are just a means to put hooded thugs into the streets to create chaos. Look for more mobs as we get closer to the election.
And why would ABC think that the death threats were wrong? They spent 8 years either not covering, or justifying the same behavior towards President Bush.
It takes a sick sick mind
Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 10:40am.
It takes a real sick mind for someone to ask a really dumb question like that, it's so patently absurd. You can't really stop people from making death threats, only stop them (hopefully) from acting on them.
The real question is "do they want to stop them from acting on death threats?" In the case of the lib media, the answer of course is no because there would be no sensational ratings otherwise. I cite the Giffords Tuscon shooting as an example, both before and after the incident. The threat was there, it was known, and it wasn't stopped. Then after the incident, the "aftermath" threats were there, and some attempts might have been made (I have no idea, I wasn't following those closely at all if any), and no attempts made to quell the brouhaha of "civilitiy" that followed.

Left-Wing Racism
Submitted by Guapo Diablo on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 10:48am.
Zimmerman will be chased forever, simply because he's not black. Sharpton, Spike Lee, the New Black Panther Party and the MSM have made sure that he will be found, beaten and possibly murdered ONLY because of the color of his skin. It's a tragedy that Martin is dead. However if the shooter and victim were the same race, those two guys names' would be in a local story for a couple days, then it would no longer be news.
The MSM really needs to look in the mirror and ask themselves if putting a bounty on someone's head is worth their coveted ratings. One of OUR family members could be next.
Death Threats Going Too Far?
Submitted by Netstatter on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 11:21am.
Any death threat against anyone is going too far. That's a given; even to ask if they go too far is absurd. To me, that graphic line across the bottom of the screen could only be for the morally-challenged among us. I wonder what the poll results of such a question wold be? I can assume that such poll results actually exist!
Let's imagine just for argument what death threats can cause:
- fear
- response-in-kind
- actual deaths, both of the people being threatened and those making the threats
Also think of the after-effects of such actions.
Let's do something common-sense about such threats. Make arrests of the ones doing the threatening.

I predict that day will be immediately after the Supreme Court ruling, regardless of which way it goes, or November 7. Either way someone's going to be very unhappy and no real way to vent. Either way the Administration gets to call the shots and institute martial law, which they are actively seeking (they already have authorization in WH despite its unconstitutionality).

Tinder Box
Submitted by Kingfish17 on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 12:28pm.
I think this countries' cities are sitting on a tinderbox waiting to explode this summer. OWS is calling for a general strike and the implication of violence on May the 1st. The Supreme Court will release their ruling sometime in June. There's a good chance that hype being built up around the Martin/Zimmerman case will blow up when the left doesn't get the results they want.
Top it all with super high gas prices, and it's not unrealistic to think that riots and looting could break out. If the Rodney King incident was the tipping point for what happened back in 1992, the combining of the three events above, and the political conventions, could result in something similar.

Maybe just enough chaos to "postpone" an election?
You know, fear that people won't be able to get to the polling places, gas too expensive to waste just to go vote, racial tensions giving way to a "Constitutional Crisis," and then? Then... "temporarily" postpone the election?
Normally, i would laugh at myself for such an impossible thought.
But activity of late, obviously exacerbated by the current administration and it's cronies, places me in a mindset without such a sense of humor.
Ironically, with the willing support of a compliant media, 70 percent of the population could probably be convinced of the value of doing such a thing.

Once all the OWS sheep flee into the streets to live in tents, smear their feces on cop cars, do drugs and rape women, I'll swoop in and snatch one of their jobs away from them.
Hopefully ALL the people that Obama has put out of work will be able to get jobs once the posers who believe the OWS lies quit their jobs, leaving them open for the people who really make this country work.

Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 1:08pm.
They are so afraid of being called racist if they take any sort of action, they'll suffer loss of face with the public if they do anything. That's their thinking. The other problem is AG Holder, he's given them a pass before, he'll give them one again so the authorities probably and despondently think "what's the use?" I would also add mistakenly think that way too.
This country is ripe for a civil war with all the stuff that's going on, and this nonsense about Trayvon and Zimmerman is the powderkeg that's going to set it off. Sharpton, Jackson, even Obeyme, will see to that, they are already taking the steps to make it happen.
I fear this will make the Rodney King Riots look like a TEA party event.

This is all part of a grand scheme that the RBFSOB has cooked up for the election year "national emergency."
I have to admit that I was, and still am, upset with the state of FL for not going after the Black Panthers, but I do have a little sympathy for their position. The feds have already injected themselves into this local matter and elevated it to the presidential level!!!!
I dare say that if Scott made a move against the Justice Brothers or the Black Panthers, that the feds would override him in a heartbeat, blame the whole mess on HIS racism, and federalize the whole Fluking state of FL in the interest of "preserving the peace," or some other stupid excuse.
This is a No Win for local and state government. Obama made sure of that early with his "if I had a son" statement. Now it's all about White vs Black.
That's what he wanted all along.

It's not that these race hustlers love blacks so much...
Submitted by krendler on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 1:04pm.
It's not that these race hustlers (the media included) love blacks so much, it has a lot more to do with their all-consuming hatred of whites. Thus, you don't see any outrage at all unless it's a white who's criticizing a black ("how dare you criticize Obama, you racist"), or a white commenting on racial issues (only blacks are allowed to do this), or white-on-black crime.
Society and the media allow blacks to spew as much hatred towards other ethnic groups as they want. Zero repercussions. It's as if blacks have earned the right to openly express their hatred of whites and America. Blacks are constantly gabbing about race this and race that, and the second a white offers a contrary opinion they freak out.
No other race or ethnic group in the country is permitted to do this.
Race hustlers despise blacks!

They just use them to make themselves rich and powerful. To assume that da Rev Al and da Rev Jesse give half a Shiite about someone of their own race is a joke. They just use them.
If this were 300 years ago, Al and Jesse would be in Africa rounding up other blacks to sell their asses to slavers. They have no more love for their fellow man, black or white, than those slave traders did.
Why do you think that they work soooooo hard to keep them poor, stupid, and ignorant? The same reason plantation owners did it. They are much easier to control and manipulate that way. They depend on you to give them what the need to live, and tell them what to do.
The libs are pulling the same thing in our public schools right now. Keep'em ignorant, and teach them that the State is their only hope for survival.
We're running out of time to turn this around.

One of the dumbest graphics I can remember.
And an economic boycott is foolish. Even assuming the racial profiling were true, and it's not, how do you help a community by attacking it's economy?
How many seventeen year old black kids or parents of seventeen year old black kids are going to lose their jobs if the local economy gets hit? And that helps who? It's stupidity.
Luckily those silly economic boycotts from outsiders never work.
I do hope that none of these angry protestors getting bused in takes a swing at someone, especially a police officer. Al and the media are probably salivating over the prospects of the tragedy of that happening.
death threats...
Submitted by truckinmann on Sat, 03/31/2012 - 3:38pm.
Are death threats going to far? Yes! Are calls for riots going to far? Yes! I truly believe these people are brain dead as far as reasoning goes. Al Sharpton is also a big part of this and needs to go down as far as his job is concerned.
What the liberal media doesn't understand is the conservatives are much better prepared for war than they are. I guess they do understand this as they are all about taking guns out of the peoples hands so they can't protect themselves. We're already armed and have guns by our 2nd amendment rights and are being backed up by the courts in case after case, which really drives them nuts.
These libs have tried and convicted this man without a trial, and he's not even been charged with a crime! The police investigated this shooting and found it to be justified. This is racially motivated hatred of a man because of his skin color, and I'm talking about the hatred of Zimmerman because he's not a black that killed another black. They want to blow it into something big just because Zimmerman isn't black, and for no other reason. Blacks want to start a race war over this. They make up about 12% of the population, who do you think would win? I'm sick and tired of hearing racism screamed every time someone white farts in the general vicinity of a black. Get a life!
Sharpton is trying to incite a riot, and I hope he succeeds, and is then arrested and locked up for a good, long time. NBC is doing nothing about a host for one of their shows attempting to cause physical violence on innocent people. This innocent person is ready if a riot comes to my neighborhood. I know the police can't be everywhere at once, and are generally only there after the crime has been committed, rather than stopping the crime as it's committed. This is why we have the second amendment, so you can protect yourself and your family, and if need be your country. When someone is trying to incite anarchy over the rule of law in our country, as Al Sharpton is doing, then the general population better be prepared to fend for themselves, as we don't know where the violence may erupt at.
