Tina Brown: Santorum 'Like Judas Iscariot'
Early frontrunner for the most preposterous political analogy of the year . . .
On today's Morning Joe, Tina Brown said Rick Santorum was "like Judas Iscariot." And just what was Santorum's sin that merited comparing him to the man who betrayed Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver? That Santorum, 15 years after the fact, now regrets having supported Arlen Specter when his then-fellow Republican senator from Pennsylvania ran for president. View the video after the jump.

RICK SANTORUM: I was his colleague in the United States Senate. He asked me to stand with him. That certainly wasn't one of my prouder moments I look back on. But, look, you know, you work together as a team for the State of Pennsylvania . . . I certainly knew that Arlen Specter was going nowhere. I certainly disagreed with a lot of the things he said, and it was something I look back on and wish I hadn't done.
A few moments later, Brown summoned up her fatuous simile.
TINA BROWN: This recent election has been all about people just reversing every loyalty they've ever had, anything they've ever done. I mean, you know, the fact that Santorum is saying these things now is like Judas Iscariot, you know, everybody's just betraying everybody, reversing where they were, just to, sort of, make a point.

Obummer quoted the Good Book at the national prayer breakfast to justify raising taxes on the well to do "to those who much is given, much is expected", and Dems in congress have said Jesus was a socialist. We have to spread the word loud and often to get Catholics and Jews who traditionally vote for dumocraps to realize that the libtards are NOT on the side of religion. BHO wants to dismantle the entire Bill of Rights, except for the commerce clause,(which needs amended), and set himself up as RULER in chief. He's already signed the executive order to set up for martial law, and I pray that he doesn't use it in Nov. when he loses the election. Be ready people.

Is Ms. Brown reading the same Bible I'm reading? Rick Santorum, regardless of whether you back him for President, appears to be a decent human being. Judas Iscariot was not, to say the least.
Plus, as far as "everybody's just betraying everybody," that's politics. Right or wrong, that happens all of the time.

Tina Brown is a BIBLICAL ILLITERATE. Judas's betrayal directly resulted in the death of Jesus of Nazereth Whose Annointment by His Father gave Him the ultimate power, over death itself. Last time I checked, Santorum has committed NO such "betrayal"-- only a very unwise choice to support a REAL current-day traitor, Specter. Santorum subsequently admitted as erroneous. MORE politicians need to be this honest. So at best, Ms. Brown is extremely confused as to whom the metaphor of "Judas" REALLY should be applied.

She probably didn't even know enough about the bible to know it was Jesus that Judas betrayed, or she wouldn't have likened it together. Unless.... She thinks of that traitor Specter as Jesus....... burrrr...... No, in this analogy, our boy Ricky would be a closer stand-in for Christ. He is a holy man, and Judas (Specter) betrayed HIM and all of the Early Church (GOP) along with him. How about what the entire democrat party did to Joe Leiberman when he didn't toe the liberal line about Iraq? They slammed him, they denigraded him, they ran a primary challenger against him, and they forced him to become an independent. I absolutely don't agree with Leiberman's philosophy, but I respect his honesty. And he got screwed for telling the truth.
If Santorum regretting that he supported a party traitor is enough to earn him the Judas sobriquet, then every democrat in congress at the time is also more than deserving of the same.

Ya know, what passes for journalism, never fails to amaze me. The leap she took may have been because she was playing to the old coot sitting two seats to her left. He looks a whole lot like Arlen (you know who).
Honestly, I get the distinct impression that media talking heads ESPECIALLY liberals, play to one another. Its seems that every other program has a crew of left wing pundits, sitting in sophomoric judgement of any one who carries the Conservative message. They regularly make inane, cruel, statements of conservatives, while defending, and covering for the crazy stuff coming out of leftists. After all of that that they proclaim their integrity as "journalists". I could be wrong, but I thought news journalists were supposed to report the facts of a story, without personal viewpoints. That would apply to printed, tv & radio media. If the program is for entertainment, and advertised as such, it's all good. But NOT if the program is touted as a news program. The rule applies to liberal, and conservative media.
