Mika Brzezinski's Anti-Newt Rant Drives Her To Emotional Brink
Shades of "Special Comment"! In a rant worthy of Keith Olbermann at the height of his Miss Precious Perfect histrionics, Mika Brezinski began today's Morning Joe by tearing into Newt Gingrich for his recent suggestion that Occupy protestors should "get a job, right after you take a bath."
It wasn't merely Mika's words: "arrogant, disgusting, sickened." So strongly ran Brzezinski's rage that more than once her voice quavered and she seemed on some sort of emotional brink. Video after the jump.
Watch Mika on the brink. After the show opened with a clip of Newt making his "get a job, take a bath" remarks, Mika proceeded to unload.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Wow. It's really not surprising, coming from me, but that's about the most arrogant and un-self-aware, and those are probably the only words I can use [inaudible] for any politician in this Republican field to say.
JEFFREY SACHS [income redistribution fan and Columbia prof]: Disgusting.
BRZEZINSKI: Disgusting.
SACHS: Absolutely disgusting. No sense of any meaning at all of this. Absolutely revolting, actually. And especially when what they're protesting against is the incredible abuse of power, the criminality on Wall Street and so forth that he--he has taken his millions of dollars. It's shocking!
BRZEZINSKI: Someone needs a bath, and I don't think it's the people from Occupy Wall Street. That's all I'm going to say. I've got nothing else. I'm so disgusted by that that something horrible is going to come . . . I, I, am I alone here? Am I over-reacting [note quavering voice]? I'm sickened by that . . . It's fair to say he's in the 1%, correct? He's telling the 99% to take a bath and get a job? Really? Really, I wonder how they do that right now. How, given the state of this country, how anyone's going to just get a job and take a bath. Who is this man? Who does he think he is? And why is he surging in the polls? I don't get it. I mean,to hear Newt Gingrich standing on literally his high horse, after taking advantage of the system, cashing in, being the biggest, literally the biggest hypocrite in the Repubican field, probably in politics today. The biggest hypocrite. And then to cast aspersions and to speak down to these people as if--plghhh--they should be flipped away? It's disgusting. It's absolutely disgusting. It's a very angry way to start the show. I'm extremely sorry. But it's the first time I'd seen that. And it literally made my skin crawl. I can't believe he resonates.
Note: Brzezinski began her rant by declaring "it shouldn't be surprising, coming from me." That was presumably an allusion to her frankly acknowledged personal animus toward Gingrich, apparently stemming from an incident in which Newt had insulted Mika's father Zbigniew Brzezinski as Jimmy Carter's former National Security Adviser sat in the audience.
Note Deux: at one point Mika speaks of Gingrich standing "literally" on his high horse. Newt the equestrian daredevil: who knew?

I remember that, too. I remember just being sort of horrified, mouth agape as I watched her, that she found it not only funny, but gasping for air funny.
Here's the thing: I HATE EVERYTHING OBAMA WANTS, but I DON'T HATE HIM and DON'T WANT ANY HARM to come his way. I would be VERY sad, and OUTRAGED if anything happened to him, or God forbid, his family or Secret Service detail.

The other clueless Obama tools on that panel were equally as bad a Mika - particuarly Jeffrey Sachs who is the weather vane for climate change (the slighest weather disturbance and Sachs finds a reason that it is man-made).
What Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence was that we were entitled to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happniness. What these OWS crew and their supporter miss is that they are only entitled to the freedom to pursue happiness - there was no guarantee or entitlement to it. This movement is all about government entitlement and like Newt said about the government owing everything to people.
I never had much regard for Joe Scarborough, but the show without him is unwatchable.

The problem with this group of people who represent nothing more than their own self-interests and not their generation, is that they lack a work ethic and have been brought up and schooled to believe that they are entitled to everything from the government.
I saw Geraldo interview a guy who was a construction worker and after his rant about how unfair life was because of banks, Rivera asked him what he wanted out this movement. His answer was that he wanted nothing less than a job that paid $50,000 a year. he felt he was entitled to that and did not have to earn it.

My son and his girlfriend went looking for jobs about two months ago. Both were employed within two weeks of beginning their job search and even after gaining full time employment they were both receiving calls to come in for interviews from several different places. Result is that my son is now working full time and his girlfriend is working part time....at two different jobs.
So don't tell me there are "NO JOBS" its just that there are no jobs for people that are not willing to start at the bottom and work their way up.

The take over a public park they didn’t pay for; To go nearby to go to bathrooms they didn’t pay for; to beg for food from places they didn’t pay for; to instruct those who go to work to pay the taxes to sustain the bathrooms and to sustain the park, so they can self-righteously proclaim that they are the paradigms of virtue for which we owe everything. Amusing how the left has managed to project their own personal causes onto the collection of human waste occupying various public parks. Sachs sententiously claims that they're protesting against the "power" abuses of Wall Street. Obama thinks they're angry about jobs. From what I've seen on the news, they're also protesting the fact that nobody's paying their student loans for them, and they're protesting the Jews. From what I've seen in person at "Occupy DC," some of them may be protesting drug laws, others may be protesting bathing, and still others may be taking a stand against reality.

but a significant number of the OWS protesters need to take Newt's advice. A significant number of them are lazy and don't work hard, and don't try hard to find a job. A significant number of them do have an attitude of entitlement. A significant number of them do need to take a bath.
Some of them are spoiled young people of means - walking around with iPhones and iPads, wearing designer jeans etc. and drinking lattes from Starbucks. If they work, if they have any job at all, they couldn't stay in the park for weeks on end. Maybe they can't find the job of their dreams, or the job they had planned on, or the job that makes them happy - but they could find a job, some kind of job, if they really wanted to.
Some of them collect welfare, use it to pay for their meals and so on, while engaging in open-ended protest.
Some of them, a minority in my opinion, are protesting for legit reasons, or at least coherent reasons - but many are not. Some are open Marxists, or otherwise have anti-American sentiments. Many are openly anti-capitalist, pro-socialist.
I'm not the least bit persuaded by your indignation and outrage, not based on the facts. What Newt said was probably unfair to some of the OWS supporters, but it probably was quite fair regarding a majority of them. Through your leftist view, you don't want to accept that what Newt said does apply to many of the OWS'ers - but it does.

I am at wits end and may not make it...not every entrepneurer is a gates or jobs....and trying to get a foothold in a non expanding economy is not pleasant...
and I must say that I pity those students who studied the humanities or social sciences and now have 100 to 150Gs in debt...their fault I know....but imagine being 21 with that type of debt and no prospects of a future in the Obama wracked economy.......while it isnt 1% as difficult or dangerous or perilous as it was for the returning czarist armies coming home starving from the Austrian front in 1917 we have a growing army in this country of people who might be getting desperate.....could be as many as 25 million of them....not very pleasant at all....

Paarl, as a small businessman myself, I completely empathize with your struggles to stay afloat. However, the OWS crowd were anything but "victims of Obamanomics." Let's just take your point about student debt: Obama wasn't even president when they started making their education choices and racking up their debt. The fact that they can't get a job now is much more attributable to them than to the economy. In fact, the unemployment rate among college-educated workers is 4%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These slackers want everyone else to pay for their choices, and frankly, I'm tired of my taxes going there.

There are times when I wished that I could be sitting there with Mika and Joe and be able to literally respond to their stupidity.
I watched it this morning and was yelling at my t.v. Mika never mentioned the fact at how her co-workers ridiculed and insulted the people of the Tea Party protests or for that matter, Glen Beck's August 2010 Rally.
Funny, these people who Mika and her co-hosts don't mention the fact that most are young people who go to Ivy League schools that costs more than $20,000 a year....youi can bet that! Most of their teachers that teach our young have never been in the private sector. Most of these kids are upper-middle class or upper class.
Interestingly, it was reported that the protestors have already divided themselves. One side has meetings in the lobby of a bank no less while the other side makes no decisions.....typical liberal thinking, really.
Mika doesn't mention that these people have recieved thousands of dollars in contributions to only deposit it in banks ( the supposed enemy). It does smell down there and some have been bused in by the SEIU people with George Soros's money.
Finally, Nancy Pelosi called the Tea Party people (who actually had to work for a lviing) astroturf. Miss Mika couldn't find her way around a WalMart. Her snobbery is showing and so is her stupidity when it comes to the fake protests on WallStreet. Please, for heavens' sake, her president wants to destroy jobs and recieved the most contributions from Wall Street!
