Scarborough Denounces Mika's Double Standard On Biden 'Rape' Fear-Mongering
A notable moment on Morning Joe today, as Joe Scarborough called out Mika Brzezinski on her double standard when it comes to criticizing politicians for their over-the-top remarks.
Setting Scarborough off was Brzezinski's defense of Joe Biden's allegation that crime, including rape, would increase if Republicans don't vote for President Obama's latest tax-raising stimulus plan. Joe claimed Mika would surely condemn a Republican, such as Michelle Bachmann, employing similar fear-mongering tactics. Video after the jump.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: I still think it's fascinating, Mika, that if Michelle Bachmann had said something like that, that Barack Obama was contributing to a situation that would lead to increased rapes in America, you would be going crazy right now. The same with Herman Cain. And I'd be agreeing with you. But here you've got the Vice-President of the United States, who suggested before that Republicans were hostage-takers, and now this time has said pass a bill with a tax increase in it or you are contributing to the increase of rape and robbery across America, and you want to give him a free pass. It just doesn't--it's not consistent.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: I think it's highly emotional, the way he presented it, but what he was saying, that the numbers will go up --
SCARBOROUGH: When Rush gets excited and says some really inappropriate things, emotions involved there too. You just can't call out the other side and not call out your own.

The other problem with their lies is that these crimes have been going down for the last 4 years and the funding has been and still will be appropriate.

She reminds me of college classmates of mine who echoed our professors' pronouncements as if they were gospel truth.
Despite the fact that FDI data suggests that rape is on the decrease in Flint, MI where Biden made his fear-laced statement, the so-called progressives keep repeating his charge because they want to believe it.
When the media tried to follow the data trail, they first checked with Biden's office for the source of the data. That office referred them to the Flint Police Department, which in turn said it stuck by the data it sent Biden (They notably didn't confirm Biden's ominous conclusion).
Any one with common sense -- including Dems -- would check out anything Blunder Biden utters before repeating it.

And I'm reading that the shooting rate has increased dramatically in NYC during this timeframe also. In Baltimore the "occupiers" are telling women not to report sexual assualts/rapes to the police. They have "counselors" on hand for the women.
I don't know about liberal women, but if that happened to me (God forbid) I wouldn't want a counselor, I'd want a Smith & Wesson.
OWS doesn't like women. The women down there are idiots for putting up with this.

...when a health care professional of ANY kind, from respiratory technician to pharmacist to nurse to physician to social worker, has any reason to believe that assault, molestation or abuse has occurred, we must immediately report it to the authorities for investigation. There is zero tolerance on that. Why the OWS protesters would think they exist outside of the justice system I could not fathom, but any allegations of rape or molestation should go immediately to the police. I wonder if Maryland law requires the same?

Everyone seems to think that more cops is the solution for rape. I'd love to see the stats on exactly how many women have actually been saved from the act of rape as it is about to, or is actually taking place, and a police officer shows up to stop it.
Unless you carry a cop around in your purse, you may have to handle it yourself.
Some women have opted for another solution. They carry their own "deterrent" in the form of a concealed weapon.
Don't tell me it doesn't work. If some jive turkey is coming toward you with rape on his mind, the noise alone will spoil the mood for him. If you actually hit him center mass, no telling how many more rapes you will have prevented.
Never fired a weapon? Try it. You'll like it.
So the whole time that Joe is telling us how much crime is going up, he and Bambi are figuring out new ways to get guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. I guess they need some more weapons to give to the Mexican cartels.

It's so amusing to watch the libs earnestly try to get others to agree with what they believe/feel is true.
The last 3 days have been priceless - Mika almost went off on Joe because he shut her down when Rep McCarthy pointed out the stimulus cost more than it delivered. She was a jack in the box. The glare she shot at Joe was so funny I watched it over and over!
Eugene Robinson {same block} was almost crying, and was doing the little head shakes etc. that signify putting your fingers in your ears and blocking out what someone else says. He *really* took exception to what Rep. McCarthy was saying!!!

NBC/MSNBC's strict Standards and Practices? These fair and ethical Standards and Practices, considered the best and most respected in the broadcast business, specifically state that all show hosts must be non-partisan, fair and balanced and not take sides. Why Mika would defend Vice President Biden's comments when MSNBC's Standards and Practices requires otherwise is beyond me.
By criticizing Brzezinski's defense of Joe Biden, Scarborough specifically ignored Section II, Part 3a of the NBC/MSNBC Standards and Practices that clearly states that token Conservative hosts must not criticize or show disapproval with an individual or group associated with or part of the Democrat Party.
It would not surprise me one bit if both Mika and Joe are censured, and perhaps given time off for conduct that is unbecoming an MSNBC host, and does not comport with NBC/MSNBC's strict Standards and Practices.
