Corn Field/John Deere Backdrop, Voice Cracking 'I Love America So Much': How Dare We Claim Misery Tour Political?
Check out this clip [via MSNBC] from a speech President Obama gave in Illinois during his current Magical Misery Tour of the Midwest. There's PBO, in front of a corn field, the hood of a John Deere tractor peeking in from the right [imagine the poll testing--how much of the tractor should be in the shot?]
And listen as PBO's voice breaks as he proclaims how great America is and how much he loves it. How dare we claim it's a taxpayer-funded political stunt?! View video after the jump.
Thrill to Obama's Field of Dreams moment!
BARACK OBAMA: I can tell ya, nothing's more inspiring to me than the kind of trip I've been taking over the last few days. You know, you drive around in this big [Canadian] bus, it's all, you can't see out except when you're standing in front, so I'm out in front [couldn't that be dangerous as you 'drive around'?]. And, uh, having breakfast in the diner, going to football practice, you're passing rows of kids with flags, and grandparents in their lawn chairs, mechanics out in front of their shops, and farmers waving from the fields [oh, the Norman Rockwell humanity!] It inspires you! Cause it reminds you about [voice cracks] what makes this country so great! Why I love this country so much.

I want to see three words "made in America" on products oversees? There are actually 35 countries that are of America.
Umm, I think the sticker actually says "Made in USA"

I see you caught that 'made in America' statement and flagged it correctly. I was once at QVC studios on a service call and overheard one of the slick salespeople talking to the babes who stand in front of the camera:
Slickster: 'Say it's made in America, that always increases sales.'
TV babe: 'But it says 'Made In Mexico'.'
Slickster: 'Honey, Mexico is in America, North America!'

Submitted by Mark Finkelstein on Wed, 08/17/2011 - 8:52pm.
Reminds me of a true story from when I was living in Paris. A group of friends went to a restaurant in the Little Vietnam neighborhood. A really authentic place, catering to the local Vietnamese, not the French or tourists.
One guy in our group told the waiter, a wizened old man with a classic wispy beard, that he wanted what was listed on the menu as "traditional Vietnamese appetizer."
The waiter tried and tried to discourage my friend from ordering it, but he persisted. Turned out it was a plate of curdled pig blood. Tastes just like a Big Mac!
LOL, Mark. So, was he able to keep it down?

No, not Norman Rockwell! It's Walt Whitman with I Hear America Singing
I HEAR America singing, the varied carols I hear;
Those of mechanics—each one singing his, as it should be, blithe and strong;
The carpenter singing his, as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his, as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work;
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat—the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck;
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench—the hatter singing as he stands;
The wood-cutter’s song—the ploughboy’s, on his way in the morning, or at the noon intermission, or at sundown;
The delicious singing of the mother—or of the young wife at work—or of the girl sewing or washing—Each singing what belongs to her, and to none else;
The day what belongs to the day—At night, the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing, with open mouths, their strong melodious songs.
Very good MA

Submitted by killa37 on Thu, 08/18/2011 - 1:08am.
OK, lets start from the top...........there's corn, which is being used as a gasoline additive, and costing more and more, as well as not doing much good as fuel.............then there's the John Deere tractor, which - if the REGIME gets it's way - will have to be registered as a commercial vehicle, along with all of the taxes and fees and regulations, as well as the drivers of these farm vehicles - with their own licenses and insurances and fees and taxes and regulations - purportedly over 800, 000 of them (do the math, on a yearly recurring basis!!!)...................and you've got Barama driving around in two very espensive buses that WEREN'T made in America, along with a multitude of security and other personel - ALL being paid on the taxpayers dime.........
and then you've got this pathetic creep actually TRYING to get SOMEONE to believe the utter dreck and bulls**t that is spewing from his big dumb purple lips............and NOT being very convincing!!!
This guy is such a joke...........it's never-ending with him!!! Unfortunalty, it's never-ending with us either...........it's our worst nightmare recurring day after day and night after night.
Of course, he's NEVER stood in front of a crowd of his peers, or a foreign crowd, and said that he 'loved this country so much'!!!
I wonder if he's gotten the middle finger (which he is quite fond of giving) from any of the farmers in the field, or the mechanics in front of their shops (obvious not working in Obamaville), or the grandparents sitting in their front yards...............
Hell, if I saw that blitzkreig rolling towards me, I'd grab my guns and hunker down..........a la 'remember the Alamo'!!!
Killa, don't forget,

Deere laid off hundreds of workers, after 0 shilled his stimulus that "saved" their jobs. Wonder how many of them were out there "waving" at him?
And, I think that, rather than apologize all over the globe, he could have made that speech that he "loved this country so much". But, the libs won't remember that.
And, yeah, the idea that the 14 or 15 year old kid on the tractor needs a CDL is ludicris, or is it ludicrous?
But, I do love the "utter dreck and bulls**t" remark.
Ludicris is some G-hood

Ludicris is some G-hood rapper - who probably DOES make more than $250, 000 per year. Ludicrous is my the state of mind that my little peabrain gets when I watch and read about this utter dreck and bulls**t!!!!

Oh........one more thing!!! I read that the Congressional Black Caucas (a racist organization, to be sure!!!)......with the ever-eloquent and ultra-intellilgent Maxine Waters leading the gum-flapping..........is really quite upset with this whole Magical Misery Bus Tour, because 'even though the black people love Obama, he's not doing enough to help create jobs for them'......and that the CBC would love to press Obama to do more, but they don't want to upset the black people who love Obama.........so they are just waiting for the OK from the people to jump all over their beloved President for not helping the blacks enough!!!
And she also said that Barama isn't going to any black areas!!! (Well, do you really think that he's going to take the caravan into the inner cities??? Those buses would be sitting on cement blocks in no time, and the support vehicles would all be stripped bare too. But Boy Barry might score some pretty good coke, huh???) And, he might be more inclined to dismiss some 'angry TEA-bagger' at a town hall meeting than have to deal with a bunch of gangstas and ho's who want some more of his stash!!!
You can't make this stuff up!!!!!

I echo the previous comments about this bozo's "great oratory skills". I just do not get it.
I love how he tries to reduce his elitist overtones with the "I tell ya's" and the constant informalizing of his speech when he is trying to be a "down-homey" presidope.
Does he love his country? You bet he does. Only in America can a community organizer, with no discernible skill get elected President. I sometimes wonder if he is the Anti-Christ, complete with the three 6s on the back of his empty head.

I notice President Downgrade failed to mention the "new" regulations his administration wishes to place on farmers. Like a commercial grade drivers license to operate farm equipment, with all of the attendant paperwork, hours, etc. (opening the doors for unions, no doubt).
He's trying to get his camel's nose under that tent, too.

Using the term "President Downgrade."
I am trying to get that term heavily institutionalized. :-)
As to your point re Unions...
Isn't it funny how you can't find Thug-in-Chief Richard Trumka on TV these days, and isn't it telling how the Big Revolution in Wisconsin That never Happened didn't get one paragraph of coverage?
Based on the way the LSM is carrying Downgrade's water, I have a hard time believing that the old Soviet News Agency, TASS, was any worse than these clowns.
