Alter: With Ryan Plan, Republicans Voted 'To Throw Granny Into The Snow'
Q. How does a liberal describe giving seniors choice over their health care coverage?
A. Murder.
On Cenk Uygur's MSNBC show this evening, Jonathan Alter claimed that in proposing to issue Medicare vouchers, Republicans voted "to throw granny into the snow."
For good measure, Cenk came out in favor of the "Robin Hood" approach to taxation--robbing from the rich and giving to the poor.
View video after the jump.
Watch Cenk call for radical income redistribution, and Alter equate giving seniors greater choice with . . . senilicide.
JAMES MORAN: We've been trying to be as reasonable as possible. Nobody's trying to be Robin Hood here . . .
CENK UYGUR: You know what? We could use a little Robin Hood.
Alter showed up later to offer his vouchers = murder metaphor.
JONATHAN ALTER: After many years where Democrats kind of cried wolf about Republicans wanting to throw granny into the snow, this time that's what they have just voted to do.

The irony here is IF ObamaCare were to be allowed to continue Cenk would in his old age be cursing Obama as the intern puts the pillow over his face when he reached his alloted maximum lifetime limit of Medicare dollars.
No Cenk the only advocacy of murder here is your advocacy of euthanasia via malevolent neglect. A choice is NOT a choice when someone else is making them for you. Malevolence is making choices that harm others with no regard to their needs or pain. It's one think to decide for yourself if you don't want to keep trying to live via various medical treatments, it's quite another when some pencil neck looking at a computer screen says your value to the State is less than money it might spend keeping you alive or even having a more than marginal existance. Ask the British lady who ran NICE and ended up dying needlessly for a lack of a timely operation. It would serve you right Cenk if you had to live under the arbitrary death sentence of ObamaCare. Move to Britian if you love it so much. Arbitrary means other people making choices for their own benefit/agenda that affects you without any consideration of the negative consequences. At best Cenk you are an useful idiot, at worst an evil person who wishes harm to advance their own selfish interests.

Dont' forget Obama and the Demorats 'plan' is for the elderly. If they get sick - don't treat them. Just give them a pain pill, then send them home to die. Thank you, Mr. 'Hopey-Changey'
Better plan, Slyrr.

I already have a plan for the day some SEIU member working for a "Death Panel" calls me in to inform me that my only option left is to just die.
I'm going to look him or her straight in the eye and ask them how they feel about going with me.
I'm going to mean it, too.
I figure if every "experienced" person faced with this dilemma would take one government employee with them when they depart, we could clear up the problem for our kids in a few short years.
What the hell have we got to lose? Are they going to lock us up for the few months they say we have left, or just execute us?

Ezekiel Emanuel and others promoted a "scoring system" to determine who deserved treatments and medications, much like is done in the UK.

He also has thrown his black aunt in Boston, and his relatives in Kenya under the bus, or the camel as the case may be, so Barry is at least consistent.
And for you anti-birther whackos, he does have relatives in Kenya. Some of them even claim to have seen him born!
Ain't that a kick in the old Mau Mau?

Jeez, bubba, you're on a real 'racist' roll this morning!!! I think you need to sign up for some 'sensitivity' training........I hear that Rev. Writght is givng some sessions.
I think ol' Boy Blunder threw himself under the bus yesterday when he was trying to stammer and stutter through the reason that he voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling before he wants everybody to vote FOR it!!! It's astonishing to listen to this clown flap his stupid purple lips and spew out the Kenyan Kow Krap that he comes up with.................I thought der Schickmeister was the 'ace' pathological liar...........but Boy Barry IS a total lie, so it is in his DNA - if he is , in fact, a human being!!!
As far as the 'birther' deal goes - I also noticed (in an interview with Geogie Porgy Step on whatever the hell his name is - that Boy Blunder referred to himself in the third person when he claimed that 'most Americans are comfortable with the fact the the President was born in Hawaii'. This coming from the most self-centered person in the world???? He can't even look at the camera and say 'I was born in Hawaii'???
Now stop being such a bigoted, bitter clinging, gun totin, bible thumping, chaw chewing racist redneck, OK????
might as well make snow angles

Granny can't afford to fill up her car to get around and to see her doctor, can't afford to buy the foods she once did due to escalating food costs.
Granny didn't see any cost of living increase, she has not see the grandkids for awhile because no one has a steady job to pay for the trip.
I don't think Granny is worried about Medicare vouchers so much as rationing and quality of health care / life, food, fuel & jobs.

We could use a little Robin Hood. Yes we could, but not as UYGUR thinks. Robin stole from tax collectors, the ruling class (politicians and sheriff), and the clergy to give to the poor.
Yes, I agree. We COULD use a little Robin Hood

Robin Hood has always been famous for its "Steal from the rich, give to the poor" metaphor, which is actually a fundamental distortion of the story. The story depicts the battle between a heartless GOVERNMENT entity who takes from the PRODUCTIVE poor, and the hero, Robin Hood, who then "repatriates" the government theft of money and returns it back to the producers. When you look at the story in THAT light, then Uyger's analogy actually promotes the senior choice initiative rather than the current status.

to suit their progressive agenda. The so-called jornalists on this turd of a network all follow the Obama "boot to the throat" rule of law also now feel that we, the taxpayers, should all do our duty and pay more taxes. How about this (and I mean you, Chris Hayes), until GE pays its taxes, shut the f**k up.
Rhetorical literalism run amok...

Throwing granny in the snow = murder Really???
So, I guess...
--Leaving someone in the cold literally means keeping a person outdoors in near-freezing temperatures and causing him or her to die from hypothermia;
--Throwing someone under the bus is the specific act of crushing that person to death beneath the wheels of a Greyhound;
--Your favorite sports team getting annihilated means they were the victims of mass murder [Oh well, another season down the drain];
--Being steamrolled means a person is actually flattened into a pancake by one of these, and is now part of a paving project on the local freeway
--Making mincemeat of your opponents is the highly interesting, albeit not for the faint of heart, culinary art of turning the unfortunate victims into pie filling.
There are hundreds and hundreds of similar examples, but you get the picture. If we eliminate all of the imagery from our spoken and written word, we will be left with the blandest and most boring language in the world. The thought is so depressing to me, I'm tempted to buy a bottle of booze and get hammered.
But don't take that literally. Please.
