On Libya, Obama-supporting Uygur Is Uber-hypocrite

By Mark Finkelstein | March 22, 2011 | 22:14

A  A

Do people's politics color their views on the issues, even on life-and-death ones like war?  Yeah.  Happens on all sides.  But for Cenk Uygur to rip Republicans for having supported President Bush on Iraq while criticizing President Obama on Libya is nothing short of grotesque . . . given that Uygur now supports Obama on Libya, while when it came to Iraq and its aftermath he wanted Bush . . . imprisoned for at least ten years.

Adding fuel to the bonfire of Uygur's hypocrisy is his failure to mention that as a senator-cum-presidential-candidate, Obama himself laid out a doctrine condemning precisely the kind of military action without congressional approval in which Obama-as-president now engages.

View video after the jump.

Watch Uygur engage in shameless hypocrisy.

Note: In claiming Bush didn't seek "authorization for the war," Uygur is either ignorant or shamelessly prevaricating.  Not only did Bush seek and obtain congressional approval for the Iraq war, but such worthies as Hillary Clinton and John Kerry voted for it--later defending their votes.

PUT ON YOUR NIKE SNEAKERS...

Submitted by JPTSO3 on Tue, 03/22/2011 - 10:58pm.

When you’re a cultist, facts are inconvenient diversions. Uygur like the rest of the fat-necked blabbering boobs at MSNBC ingested a double helping of the Obama Applesauce and he’ll toe the cult line. Whatever the new Messiah says are orders from the Chosen One.

The Obama asteroid will soon pass....

Uygur is a caricature

Submitted by bkeyser on Tue, 03/22/2011 - 11:19pm.

Uygur is a caricature Progressive. He's Ed Schultz without the pretty face. He's Chris Matthews sober. Rachel Maddow after an eight ball. He's Keith Olbermann on speed in Letterman's green room. He's more like a ventriloquist dummy than an actual talking head.

And I'd bet that the majority of his viewers are nothing more than gawkers; embarrassingly looking over the carnage left by the latest train wreck. I almost feel bad for people like him.

Stray from the truth?

Submitted by Ashrak on Tue, 03/22/2011 - 11:25pm.

Yeah. But that is bit too diplomatic. I'll say it - Cenk straight up lied, knowingly lied, just like the liar he is supporting.

That an individual right exists requires that some policy positions be removed from the table of debate.

How do you take people like

Yet, there's no fathomable reason for MessNBC to continue to exist. What is this jerk doing on TV? Hey, MessNBC can be as lib slanted as it wants, this is America. But this idiot crosses the line of being even watchable. "Good grief, Comcast", indeed.

Cenk knows the truth.

Submitted by motherbelt on Wed, 03/23/2011 - 6:59am.

The facts are a conspiracy.

Just like liberals insist that with a coalition of about 30 countries, Bush was "going it alone," they will insist that he never got authorization for the war.

It would be fun to see someone confront  Uygur to his face on this, and watch the meltdown.

But he'd have to have someone on his show who disagrees with him for that to happen.

Public Access

Submitted by AR72 on Wed, 03/23/2011 - 8:46am.

Despite being on a major, yet laughable, cable network, Uygur's show has about as much quality and content as a show on a public access channel. Is there even anyone in the basement studio with him? He seems so lonely and angry.

We are witnessing the extreme

Submitted by Beukeboom on Wed, 03/23/2011 - 9:35am.

We are witnessing the extreme hypocrisy from liberals who blasted Bush about Iraq with very specific reasons and accusations that also apply now to Obama & Libya. Interestingly those same rabid libs who attacked Bush are suddenly docile and even supportive of Obama's war. The hypocrisy is just going to become more blatant from the libs and their excuses as to why they are giving Obama passes will grow equally as absurd.

Folks, you're gonna love this one...

Quoting from an article written by Doug Powers on MichelleMalkin.com documenting an appearance by Joe Biden on MSNBC's Hardball:

"...in 2007, Joe Biden argued that the president had no constitutional authority to launch an attack without congressional approval against a nation that hadn’t attacked or threatened imminent attack on the United States. Biden also insisted that doing so is an impeachable offense."

So where's Silent Joe now?

Silent Joe has

Submitted by UpNorth on Wed, 03/23/2011 - 11:31pm.

has been sent out of the country, just on the off-chance that he actually meant what he said.  We all know he didn't mean it, or understand what he was saying, but the Regime is taking no chances.

Reliable sources confirm he's looking for an Amtrak station named Tripoli, to see if what has been reported may be true.

Hell, his leader said the same thing.  Without the "impeachable offense" caveat.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

Sometime I wish Uygur would

Submitted by MightyMouth on Wed, 03/23/2011 - 7:24pm.

Sometime I wish Uygur would just crap in his dominant hand and rub it in his own face...same for that pit bull Sgt. Shultz. I would actually tune into MSNBC to see that!
