Swiping At Sarah As 'Ignorant', It's Bernstein Who Looks Befuddled
Paging Dr. Ron Reagan, Jr. . . .
On Morning Joe today, Carl Bernstein insisted Sarah Palin was "ignorant," but couldn't remember why. When pressed, he claimed she didn't know where Russia was. Oops.
Bernstein began by denouncing Palin as a "demagogue." When Joe Scarborough asked him why he had written a column branding Palin as "ignorant" the day after McCain announced her as his running mate, Bernstein simply couldn't remember. At a loss for words, Carl claimed "she didn't know where the hell" Russia was on a map.
Watch the video after the jump and note Mike Barnicle's mortified reaction to Bernstein's bumble.
Palin in fact had no problems with her geography. As even Anderson Cooper admitted, you really can see Russia, as Palin had said, from parts of Alaska.
Watch Bernstein's somewhat senior moment.
CARL BERNSTEIN: I think it's to time cover her, it's time to cover her as a demagogue.
. . .
JOE SCARBOROUGH: You didn't like her before you knew her!
BERNSTEIN: No, I --
SCARBOROUGH: You were critical of her the day after she was selected.
BERNSTEIN: The day after I wrote a piece saying that John McCain had picked someone who was ignorant.
. . .
SCARBOROUGH: What did she say immediately upon being selected as Vice-President that would have you term her as, quote, ignorant?
BERNSTEIN: Um, I'd have to go back and look at what it was that led some of people in your party to say this really is who she is, that she doesn't know--I think part of it had to do was not knowing where the Soviet Union, where the former Soviet Union was, and where Russia was, as I remember. She didn't know where the hell it was on a map.
SCARBOROUGH: I don't remember that.
BERNSTEIN: You don't?
SCARBOROUGH: No.
BERNSTEIN: There were some problems of geography, as I recall.

Bernstein shows his ignorance. The one and only reason that so many people think Sarah Palin is Ignorant, stupid, insert whatever invective comes to mind, is that she did not go to one of the "Approved" schools. It is the very same reason that Ronald Reagon was so mistrusted by the inteligensia of his time.
Maybe, just maybe, it is the limited education that the so called elitists recieve at the Ivy League schools that are at fault. All of them have a very narrow world view supplied by thier mono-philisophic education. The only thing that these schools provide in the way of an education is how to network with other alumni which gives them an unfair advantage over anyone else, regardless of actual qualifications and experience.

Can't you see the headlines? Palin apologizes for heated rhetoric! Palin "sorry" for inciting Loughner!
And then they say (paraphrasing) we know targets on district maps didn't cause it, but they should do away with them anyway. We know someone's speech didn't cause it, but they should tone it down anyway. We know that Loughner was mentally ill, but it's everyone else's fault anyway.
The other day someone named Dee321 was here, posting over and over again that Palin had put a target on Giffords' district!! As if that was the cause of the shooting!
So yeah, they'd love to have Palin apologize for something she wasn't to blame for, so they can continue to fry her.
Next attack: The fact that she apologized proves that she feels guilty about it!

Come on guys, there should be no blame when its a liberal.Let's not make fun of Carl until we investigate like professionals and wait til we have all the facts. Let's play like we work for the NYT.
Analysis and investigation reveals an early initial assessment. First Carl is an educated talented reporter. He attended a private dinner last night with other "journolisters"getting his daily updates and stayed up too late. The meeting was important because they must prepare the "ignorant masses" of real issues before the SOTUA to cover for the TOTUS. Joe's show comes on too early in the morning stressing out any elitist cubicle dweller. Carl dropped his" Journolist" talking points on the floor of the taxi on the way to the studio while drinking his $8 latte. The taxi driver erred in not noticing the notes on the floor in the back of the taxi contributing to the coming debacle. He didn't follow normal taxi driver rules because Carl left a very small tip.
Carl tells Joe on arrival at the studio that he has no notes. Joe advised Carl not to worry, he has his staff of "fact checkers" start to write up a few "cue cards". The cards, hastily prepared, only had one liners, mention Russia, violence and incivility from the right, Palin is stupid, Obama has a beautiful smile and is very articulate. Even though Carl "looks" like an idiot this morning, he is actually a highly respected member of the "journolisters" and more than capable of repeating the same liberal tripe day after day. This episode, being repeated on every LSM outlet, is clearly not Carl's fault nor should we accept any implication that he is just another "useful idiot".
Wait a minute, Cajun

Notes would imply senility, you know, like President Reagan having note cards. Little Ronnie says so.
He just didn't want to show senility, or to prove that he had the same notes as everyone else, hence his arrival without notes.

The left is trying to discredit her with any lie they can, using the Joseph Goebbels propaganda technique of "if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth." They have their marching orders from Soros on this. He has used these techniques before to tear down governments. The left is terrified of Gov. Palin because she is a regular person, whom the majority of us can identify with as Americans. She is intelligent, well spoken, possesses integrity and is a leader. The left wants to tear down our entire American culture of hard work, self reliance and world leadership and replace it with european style socialism, redistribution of wealth from those who earn it to those who don't and "social equality/justice". They see their efforts have failed and they are circling the drain. All they have accomplished is bolstering conservatism and capialism for the next 12 to 20 years. I urge everyone to get involved, stay involved, go to the polls and support conservative media outlets.

Submitted by Gary Hall on Tue, 01/18/2011 - 11:53am.
Indeed she did. A few weeks earlier Palin was interviewed by ABC's Charlie Gibson, on September 8, 2008. Please take note - the bold text was edited out of Palin's comments:
GIBSON: Let’s start, because we are near Russia, let’s start with Russia and Georgia.
The administration has said we’ve got to maintain the territorial integrity of Georgia. Do you believe the United States should try to restore Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia and Abkhazia?
PALIN: First off, we’re going to continue good relations with Saakashvili there. I was able to speak with him the other day and giving him my commitment, as John McCain’s running mate, that we will be committed to Georgia. And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable and we have to keep…
GIBSON: You believe unprovoked.
PALIN: I do believe unprovoked and we have got to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there. I think it was unfortunate. That manifestation that we saw with that invasion of Georgia shows us some steps backwards that Russia has recently taken away from the race toward a more democratic nation with democratic ideals. That’s why we have to keep an eye on Russia.
And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor.
GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?
PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.
Palin continued in a rather informed discussion on Russia's recent invasion of Georgia, as well as the future role of NATO in a potential conflict in the region - how critically important that while we maintain pressure on Russia that we remain engaged and involved in the region - all was edited out of the final taped version ABC ran for the voters.
And what does the MSM get their panties all up in a wad over? Andrew Breitbart posting an unedited excerpt of a speech at the NAACP - not over horrific hatchet job on a VP candidate, by an anchor of a national network nightly news.

As a biologist for the state of Alaska I conducted field studies on the annual walrus migration along the coast as well as studies on beluga whales, seals and migratory birds. I lived in Nome on the Seward peninsula and would fly to various villages along the coast where I would live for months at a time.
I lived on Little Diomede Island which is the closest land mass to Siberia / Russia. The International Date Line runs directly between Little Diomede Island and Big Diomede Island which Russian-held. The islands are just a few miles apart. I could observe Russian foot patrols on Big Diomede as well as their daily helicopter flights between the islands.
As happens in the Chukchi Sea fog can be a problem. Several times the walrus-skin hunting boats with me along would become lost for hours at a time in the fog and ice-floes and we would end up on the shore of Big Diomede by mistake. Fortunately we were never spotted or 'captured'.
When my studies were completed the villagers would take me by walrus-skin boat the 25 miles to Cape Prince of Wales which was the nearest coastal village to Russia on the mainland of Alaska. You can stand on the shore of Cape Prince of Wales and easily see both Big Diomede Island and Siberia with the naked eye. These are huge land masses and very visible. I would then be met by a Bush Pilot and flown back to Nome with my field samples for analysis.
Conclusion: Bernstein is a moron. Sarah is 100% correct. Perhaps I should offer to take Bernstein out on the ice floes. Gee, they can be very slick, and you never want to get to close to the edge since Killer Whales have been known to take hunters right off the ice. Maybe he'd like to see a Polar Bear up close. Real close! LOL!

If she's so stupid, so "yesterday's news", why are you MSM morons so constantly covering yourselves in your own spittle? I thinks it's because she is the real article and you know it. Bill Clinton was right. Barack Obama is a K Street coffee boy and not a qualified political candidate much less a presidential one. Palin is his intellectual superior across the board.
Morning Joe's Whine

"Moving past right-wing rhetoric"
"We get it, Sarah Palin. You’re not morally culpable for the tragic shooting in Tucson, Ariz. All of us around the “Morning Joe” table agree, even if we were stunned that you would whine about yourself on Facebook as a shattered family prepared to bury their 9-year-old girl.
The same goes for you, Glenn Beck. You’ve attacked your political opponents with words designed to inspire hatred and mind-bending conspiracy theories from fans. Calling the president a racist, Marxist and fascist may be reprehensible, but it did not lead a mentally disturbed man to take a Glock to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’s “Congress on Your Corner” event.
Good on ya, buddy. You weren’t personally responsible for the slaughter at the Safeway. Maybe you can put it on a poster at the next “Talkers” convention..."

Don't tell anybody because I'm writing a book about Bernstein, but I could swear I saw Bernstein reading from index cards with little Ron Reagan sitting alongside wringing his hands. OK, maybe it wasn't his hands he was wringing.

Bernstein is the missing link between a steamy pile of shit and todays so called progressive.
Just add a little corn and they're virtually indistinguishable.

Got a chance to watch this - his hatefulness was too much for even Joe!!!
Reminds me of when I was a kid - any kids who picked on my younger sis had to answer to me, but I could slam her all right!!!
Actually, they ALL seemed uncomfortable with Carl and his venom - he makes me ill!!!
I watched that debate {Palin/Biden} and I was VERY impressed with her and thought he was ignorant so I guess by Carl's lights, I'm the uninformed ignoramus, huh?
The left likes to start the game on their 30 yard line instead of the 50, and use "The fact of the matter is..." and "Well, I think reasonable people would agree..." to get the right to agree to the starting point - enough already!!!
Sarah refuses to go along, and even Carl said it - MOST Presidents have a HUGE learning curve, so it's really all about more or less gov't - that's why I voted Angle and would again!!!
