Schultz Suggests Fox News Foments Violence
The photo shows Ed Schultz literally pointing the finger at Fox News. On his MSNBC show this evening, Schultz suggested that Fox incites political violence and justified his own heated rhetoric as necessary to combat Fox's supposed dishonesty.
Schultz levelled his accusation in the course of rambling, show-opening, remarks on the Arizona shootings. Schultz also denied that there has been anything violent about his remarks.
After the jump, view the video--and review Schultz's record of violent rhetoric .
ED SCHULTZ: But in the wake of all of this, what are we teaching the next generation? Hell, we can't even communicate without yelling at one another. And you know what? I'm at fault. I admit it. I get passionate: but not in a violent way! And I believe that we have to say things on this show and we have to be honest. Because there's a lot of stuff, especially across the street [FNC is located on Sixth Ave., across the street from MSNBC at Rockefeller Center] that is not the truth, that is embellished to the point where it might make somebody think that doing something radical is the right thing to do.
So Fox foments violence, but Schultz claims that he gets passionate, "but not in a violent way."
Really?
“He is an enemy of the country, in my opinion, Dick Cheney is, he is an enemy of the country. He’s making it harder for those who are in power right now to protect the country. He’s about the political divide. It just, I just think the guy’s such a freakin’ loser. You know, Lord, take him to the Promised Land, will you? See, I don’t even wish the guy goes to Hell, I just want to get him the hell out of here.”— Ed Schultz, The Ed Schultz Show, May 11, 2009.

“You’re damn right, Dick Cheney’s heart’s a political football. We ought to rip it out and kick it around and stuff it back in him. I’m glad he didn’t tip over....How come Dick Cheney’s health care isn’t being dropped? Do you realize that if you had five heart attacks — hell, you wouldn’t get past two heart attacks and they’d dump you. But, because you’re a war criminal, and because you are on the take from Haliburton and you had these executive meetings in 2001 back in the, you know, the days of the rolling blackouts and executive privilege on how we’re going to develop energy policy in this country, you do stuff like that — hell, you can get the best health care on the face of the earth.” — Ed Schultz on The Ed Schultz Show, February 24, 2010.

“To hell with the Republicans! They’re anti-American! They’re psycho talkers! They don’t care!...Harry [Reid], you are ball-less! You won’t do the nuke option for the American people and shove the Republicans into the ditch! Shove those bastards right into the dirthole! This is about power! It’s about winning!”
— Ed Schultz on The Ed Schultz Show, July 14, 2010.

You know, Bob, Ed actually believes he never said anything mean. When he gets on a tear, he doesn't even know what he is saying. I'll bet if someone showed him videos of the rants Noel cited, he would claim that he never said those things, and the tapes must be doctored.

Great observation but don't forget the clown shoes and oh, can't you just see all the MSNBC clowns, "ED", "OLBYman", Maddow, Chrissy the leg tingler, Larry O, all getting out of the Clown Car?
The only problem there is you would need a huge car or an 18 wheeler with "Mr. Ed".

As soon as I heard of this shooting, my first thought was "Who will Ed Schultz blame for this?" Its not a matter of if he will say something stupid and contradictory but rather to what level. My question has been answered with his broadcast today.

Would we know, or would the fire and smoke pouring from America's streets blind us from it all and the smoke choke us to death?
......sort of like the choas over the Mohammed cartoons. I guess both ways, the people doing it are worshippers of the subject.
Bet a Special Ed producer got fired tonight.

Ed had on his show one of 2 other people at the shooting who also had guns. There were 2 guys that tackled/set on the shooter. This man told Ed he carried his concealed weapon everywhere.
Now this segment happened just after another segment where Special Ed was saying what a big hunter he was, and he had lots of shotguns but no pistols. What would you need a 30 shot pistol for other than to kill people Ed asked his audience.
Then this guest was on saying people needed to carry firearms to protect all of us from crazies like this Arizona gunman.
Unfortunately I had the TV on in the background ( needed my TV noise fix) and didn't catch the guy's name. Even went to the MSNBC website to try to find it to no avail.
So now we have a left wing nut shooter known to the Liberal County Sheriff tackled by two guys also carrying firearms.
Probably by Wednesday the Left will wish they never sought to blame all this on Sarah Palin.
...Naw...
Joseph Zamudio, is this man's name.

serious question for any libs who might read this. How do you think Americans will come together in unity - when you just blame U's for everything and keep calling U's violent? I prayed for mrs giffords to survive on Saturday but then that sheriff made me feel like dirt acting like I hate her or something. Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like you all don't really want to make peace. You're acting domaines death is just another chance to attack people you don't like. These people are so

These people are so hypocritical, they cannot even recognize it. They've been using violent rhetoric for years... and increasing the hyperbole day in and day out... they ignore the countless people being killed in the useless drug war, or those murdered by the government for wanting to own guns, collect guns or just sell drugs or guns.... or for just wanting to not pay taxes.... yet when one of their own gets shot... they act like they're pure as the wind driven snow and that it is the other side who's spreading violent rhetoric and vitriol.

It's not as bad as it seems right now. There were about 305 million people in this country who didn't shoot anyone on Saturday. This is the act of one madman amplified a thousand times by a minority of people working in the media, and played for political purposes by a relatively small number of people with no conscience.
The shooting was a terrible thing, but it was an isolated incident. It doesn't mean that our country is going to hell and it doesn't mean that we are any worse than we were on Friday. You have to expect that out of such a large population you are always going to have someone who does something horrific. It's just a matter of time.
Don't let yourself feel like you're at the end of your rope. Stop watching and reading the news until this settles down and people regain their sanity. You'll feel better and I promise you won't miss anything important.
