Panicky Schultz Says Dump Axelrod, Bring in Carville-Begala

It smells like Tea Party victory.  Ed Schultz has gotten a whiff, and he's panicking . . .

On his MSNBC show this evening, sensing an impending Republican landslide inspired by the Tea Party tempest, Ed called for David Axelrod to be thrown overboard for being too "soft."  Schultz suggested axing the Axe and replacing him with James Carville and Paul Begala.

It was Joe Biden's attempt to rouse the base on Rachel Maddow's show last night that set Ed off.  Savor the scent of Dem desperation . . .

ED SCHULTZ: Vice-President Joe Biden says progressives need to get it in gear if they want to prevent a Tea Party takeover of the Congress. The Vice-President went on the Rachel Maddow show last night here on MSNBC and gave these marching orders to the base.

JOE BIDEN: Get in gear, man. First of all, there's a great deal at stake.

SCHULTZ: All right, now that is the hardest sell that I've heard so far coming out of the White House. Respectfully, Mr. Vice-President, I think you should take your own advice.  The White House needs to step it up in the next six weeks. I don't see the White House, other than that sound bite from last night, that they're selling hard about the accomplishments that they've had in 22 months! Where are the pit bulls?  I mean, I really think that they've got to get a guy like James Carville or Paul Begala. Some of those Clinton people who never back down on TV. The soft sell of Axelrod is not working right now.
