MSNBC reported this afternoon that Max Baucus is "blasting right-wing websites like Drudge and NewsBusters" for suggesting he was drunk on the Senate floor during the health care debate. See P.J. Gladnick's Bizarre Baucus Behavior on Senate Floor Ignored by MSM.
But MSNBC did the Montana senator no favors:
1. it used his name in the same sentence with a variation on the word "blasted," andView the video and judge for yourself.
2. what's worse, it played a clip from Baucus', um, tired and emotional floor speech.
By interesting coincidence, just before MSNBC ran the segment, I posted this item reporting on David Shuster's denunciation of Drudge and "wingnuts" for "smearing" poor Sen. Baucus.
Note: Baucus wasn't blasted, and the parrot wasn't dead: 'e was just restin'.

Shuster's "denunciations" come out of the Clinton Playbook of Political Desperatism: deny...deny...deny; then attack the messenger.
Baucus' point (if you can call what he did, 'making a point') is a symptom of the mental illness known as liberalism. That is, victims of this illness really believe that "bipartisanship" means that you must agree with them. period.
If the liberal-60 really wanted bipartisanship, they would have seen to it that doctors (and therefore patients) got significant financial relief through tort reform, and they would have made some effort to enable sale of insurance across state lines... stuff easier to do than the convolution of tricks and deception in those 2000+ pages of libero-socialism.
But the best road to true bipartisanship, would have been for all 100 senators to read the US Constitution- so they could realize that the whole concept of governmental control of healthcare is unconstitutional. Then, a lot of the liberal-60 would have joined in a bipartisan rejection of the bill.

I'm really tired of politics. I wish there was a way to remove all of Washington and start over. Maybe we could vote in some people that have integrity and actually care about the country.
CO - I'm praying that there are some citizens who have become
Tue, 12/29/2009 - 23:40 ET by Cape Conservativeinvolved with the Tea Parties across the country that will decide to take the leap into serving us. This was the first time my husband and I have ever participated in a public 'protest' and we were surrounded by many like-minded citizens who are very concerned about the future of our country.
It is past time to enact term limit legislation...and the only way we will ever be able to do that is to have NEW BLOOD in the Halls of Congress. Citizens who desire to help their country but also realize it is NOT a lifetime career! The sleazy politicians who believe that BILLIONS & TRILLIONS of OUR money is theirs to buy votes do NOT deserve to serve another term in office.
PLEASE work hard to promote those brave citizens who are venturing out into the world of politics for the first time to MAKE A DIFFERENCE! America needs such individuals to bring our country back to the values on which our founding fathers based our Constitution! We must NOT allow the Marxist/Socialist direction to continue!
Nowhere in our Constitution does it give the president the power to hire/fire/set salaries/take over businesses/demand everyone purchase health insurance....NOWHERE!
This president truly meant it when he said he was going to fundamentally transform America - too bad so many were wearing rose-colored glasses and earplugs and failed to hear him! Over and over it was right there in front of everyone to see and hear.
There are NONE so blind as those who will not see! And We the People have to pay the consequences!
