Why does Kos say he hates the Taliban? Because they aided and abetted Osama Bin Laden in the murder of thousands of Americans? Nope. That they are actively engaged in killing American troops in Afghanistan? Guess again. No, the Taliban's real crime—the only complaint Kos mentions— is that . . . they're not PC. Not feminist. Not gay-friendly. Hell, they might even be opposed to stem cell research.
Oh, and for good measure, Kos calls conservative Republicans like Michelle Bachmann "the American Taliban." What was that about dissent being patriotic?
The topic was Pres. Obama's anticipated announcement that he will order additonal troops into Afghanistan.
ED SCHULTZ: The base really can't believe that the President is going to commit this many troops at this expense. Does this somewhat blindside the base and how do they feel about it?
MARKOS MOULITSAS: I don't think there's any blindsided to it. I mean, this is a very difficult issue. Let me make clear from the start: I hate the Afghanistan Taliban. Because they're anti-woman, they're anti-gay, they're anti-progress, science. It's the exact same reason I really hate the Michelle Bachmanns of the American Taliban.

The dude was stationed in Bamberg Germany (as was I). And they love to tout how he was an artilleryman. But what they forget to mention was that he was assigned to the REMF side of the Kasserne. REMF stands for Rear Echelon Mother Fu...well...you get the drift.
He certainly wasn't a member of the 2/2 Cav who - by the way - had a real mission during the Cold War patrolling the iron curtain.
These guys were such pansies that one day we went over and stole their little decorative cannon that graced the front of their Unit. We made the batallion commander come over to the Cav side of the Kasserne and beg to get it back.
I also remember that in every single club in Bamberg there was a "Cav Table" where no other GIs were allowed to sit. It was amazing, we'd go in the bar packed wall to wall with people and there would be our table with absolutely no one sitting there.
Kos might have worn the same uniform I did - but he certainly didn't serve in a 100% Combat Ready Unit that spent 9 months of the year in the field training to kill Russians like I did.
And don't believe that trash about him being an Officer, either. I guarantee he never wore bars, leaves, eagles, or stars on his uniform. In fact, I'd be amazed if he even made it to NCO.
