Just when you thought Keith Olbermann couldn't get any more vile or vulgar . . .
Opening this evening's Countdown, Olbermann said that Rush Limbaugh's observation that Glenn Beck was the result of his success "is like congratulating yourself for spreading syphyllis."
Olbermann made his crude comment in teasing a segment on Rush's interview with NBC's Jamie Gangel. He first played a clip from the interview of Rush saying: "look what I have spawned . . . Glenn Beck is a result of my success."
KEITH OLBERMANN: Geez, that's like congratulating yourself on spreading syphillis.Class all the way, that Keith.

October 13, 2009 - 20:06 ET by Trix RabbitUberdork can and will become more vile and vulgar. As his ratings plummet, his prurient, scatological, and tiresome tantrums will increase.
I wish I were his parent so I could bitch slap him into next week and personally vote him the worst, most loathesome person of the decade.
I'm sure that Uberdork has his foot-soldiers who peruse (not read, but glance at) NB. Tell him I said to "shut the hell up."

Keith Olbermann
October 13, 2009 - 20:19 ET by sarge329I would ask one question. Who IS Keith Olbermann? What are his credentials? What is his journalistic background? Was/is he a journalist, a reporter, a political analyst, or simply a commentator? I'll tell you how memorable Mr. Olbermann is. Up until 3 or 4 years ago, I never even heard of him. I hadn't heard of Mr. Beck until 2 or 3 years ago, either. But, at least, Mr. Beck has a ( some-what twisted ) sense of humor. He has, on more that one occasion, referred to himself as a " rodeo clown " . Does Mr. Olbermann have a sense of humor, or does he take himself too seriously? As the man said, " If you don't think that the Good Lord has a sense of humor, just look in the mirror " .
Sense of Humor
October 13, 2009 - 20:35 ET by tim413I only watch snippets of his 10:00 reruns, but Olberf--ka-s occasionally says something I find funny. I'm certain his followers find much more humor during his hour.
I don't know that much of his history. I know he thinks he is a journalist while he thinks O'Reilly is not. What's with his Edward R. Murrow quote at the end of each show? Does he think he is a journalist from that mold? If so, I am certain Murrow would choke on his cigarette smoke while listening to Oberf--ka-s's name-calling and quotes out of context.

Keith the Sports Boy
October 13, 2009 - 23:56 ET by CO2MakerKeith was an anchor commentator for ESPN for a number of year. And he still does an NFL pregame show, IIRC. He graduated from Cornell, but as Ann Coulter points out, he attended the land-grant college, not the ivy-league university which apparently occupies the same real estate in New York. I don't get that part, but Ann has mentioned it several times and apparently that always ticks KTSB off.
Olbie's hilariously funny
October 14, 2009 - 06:08 ET by HockeyKidOlbie's hilariously funny about "Cornell". He was a reasonably successful sportscaster, but apparently decided he had to follow the big bucks into political commentary (just another Rush wannabe like Ed Schultz).
He actually went to New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University, which has a communications program. It's much easier to get into than Cornell University proper.
Funnier still is Olbie's obsession with being an elite. This from his Wikipedia page:
"Olbermann matriculated at Cornell University at the age of 16, a university he chose after being rejected by Harvard but being offered a full scholarship to Boston University that would have required him to complete liberal arts curriculum before becoming a communications major."
So he tries for credit for being rejected by Harvard, then has to explain why he didn't go to Brown. What a poser!
